On occassion when you’re craving prata at 3am, or just want the delicious taste of local mi goreng(fried noodles) in your mouth, there needs to be a place you can go to that is open 24 hours and that is mindlessly affordable. This is it. I’ve been here multiple times and have probably not spent more than $ 6 – 10 on each occassion, and that too with more than 1 serving. They serve up a surprisingly large array of dishes at any point during the day and despite a certain lackadaisical attitude from the staff that runs this place, in the end you will have little to complain about. Let’s talk food. Their dosa is crispy and the right amount of soft, with 3 types of condiments or gravy if you like, that taste as good as wares at some of the more established Indian joints. Their prata comes in multiple variations such as paper, tissue, cone, with cheese, egg or onion, etc etc. You’ll be spoilt for choice. They also serve briyani, rojak, and mi goreng as mentioned. If all these terms are alien to you, only Google can help :) One may say that this is no Jalan Kayu or that the food isn’t that great, but as far as heartlander establishments go, this 24 hour haunt of mine serves up a pretty good meal and quenches my cravings. Their prices are reasonable, and there’s ample seating in a surrounding that’s cleaner than average considering it is located right across a wet market. The 3 stars awarded for this establishment is due to the fact that on occassion, they do not replenish certain types of gravy, they have forgotten orders the one or two times and there are certain items stored at their counter that do look like they’ve been kept out for some time(chicken /mutton curries) so I prefer ordering items that will be freshly prepared. All in all a great place for some late night chill out sessions and satisfying your cravings with convenience if you live close by.
