85 Redhill Teochew Noodles is located at Basement 1 of Eastpoint Mall. I like the fishball noodles(number 3 on the menu) because the mee pok is done just right — not overcooked and with the right balance of chilli, ketchup and other ingredients. For around $ 5, the price of the noodles is comparable to food court prices. Other items on their menu that taste great are the pork ribs noodles and laksa. Besides cold drinks such as lime juice($ 1 with any noodles ordered) they also serve local coffee and tea to round up your meal. The food here certainly taste much better than many other traditional fishball noodles. To enjoy the food here, it is best to avoid visiting during lunch and dinner times when it would be full house(yes, you need to queue) and the air con can feel a bit overstretched. However, the great tasting food here should be good enough for most to ignore these minor inconveniences.

I’m always on the hunt for good fishball noodles when I go home so when my mom told me about this new place in the reopened Eastpoint Mall I was eager to try it. Of course I had to wait a few days for them to reopen after CNY. Apparently this is a chain from a pretty famous stall that I haven’t tried before. This turned out to be one of the most satisfying meals of my entire trip. These guys can write a book on fishball noodles best practices. Springy meepok, bouncy fishballs, fishcake and fish dumpling, good chili and condiments. Even the sliced chili and soy sauce were good quality(no it’s not the same everywhere). The downside is that the portion is a little small.
