There aren’t any 7-Elevens in Switzerland, so I was excited to walk into one in Singapore and see what good things they have. This one has those yummy Asian yogurt drinks that are just the right amount of sweetness and tartness. I picked up a large bottle that was 0% fat! My bf noted that alcohol here is just as expensive – if not more so – than in Switzerland.

So there are many 7-Elevens in Singapore(almost 600 actually) but this one has got to be my favourite. They mostly sell the same stuff and this one is not the largest or the one with the widest variety but it is definitely the one with the friendliest staff. Most of the times you get grumpy sales staff who just ring up your purchases and attempt a half-hearted smile. Other times you’re made to wait on them to finish their phone conversations before you can pay for a small pack of sweets. This one on the other hand, has got this really nice guy named Ashok. He usually works the late shift but you sometimes get to see him in the afternoons too. Instead of just being grumpy, he takes the trouble to talk to you about your day and get to know you. Especially when you work around the area. Not only that, he also remembers the things you buy often so when you come in, he already knows what you want. Like if I’m doing a friend a favour and buying them a pack of smokes, he knows exactly which friend I’m buying for based on the brand and type of ciggies I ask for. How’s that for being attentive to details?
