Have never ate here. It is a good place late on the weekend to get wasted. Lots of fun and good music. Punch and Barcode shows in the basement.

Windsor’s oldest pub is this quaint little british-style one near the bridge. Easy to get to and get home to the north(Detroit)! I came to see Howard Jones play an intimate gig here by myself and quickly made friends with about a dozen locals who love the libations! GOOD, because I do, too(and so does my exquisitely trained Jimmy Buffett Parrothead liver!). I had the fish and chips with a side of jalapeño beer cheese soup. The fish was beer battered with a thick, crunchy batter that really did not need any lemon or tartar sauce. It was that good. The beer cheese soup was mildly spicy and just perfect on a rainy, drizzly night. I am looking forward to coming back with my other half! Bartenders and owner were friendly, fun and interesting. Thanks for making this one of my favorite nights of the year!

Anytime I go south of the border, I have to make a stop at Dominion House. Supposedly it is the oldest bar in Windsor and it definitely has the feel of a neighborhood pub. DH also offers nice calamari, poutine, and lots of Canadian beers that are tough to find in the U.S.

Established in 1878, this place is OLD, but you can kind of feel the vibe and history when you walk into the place. It really is pretty cool! There is some maintenance that needs to be done, but nothing too extravagant. The new menu is great, and probably the best pub menu I’ve seen lately. Food is mostly good, although a bit on the salty side for some plates. But that’s common for north american food unfortunately.

DH is charming with an atmosphere not found anywhere else in the city! The crowd is diverse — students, middle agers, and oldies(but goodies) — but it works! Lots of beers, trivia, food and everything that makes this the authentic English pub experience. Not to mention: good prices and friendly staff!

I have not been into the old DH in years but their new menu is exceptional. We had the calamari as a starter and it was tender and well seasoned with a perfectly crispy batter. My wife loved her shrimp po boy and they have really elevated the buffalo chicken sandwich beyond the usual dry chicken finger in wing sauce. I very highly recommend everyone try it.

Historic bar. 2 volleyball courts attached to patio for sun fun. Wings with homemade hot sauce are nice. Good friendly service.

Great little tavern on Sandwich St. Dominion House is an actual house that was turned into a tavern. They’ve got a patio, full bar, pool table, and a foosball table.(Like a bachelor pad). The place has a nice quiet little ambiance to it. The server we had was real friendly and extremely helpful, so that was a good start to the meal. They’ve got different daily specials including 2−4−1 wings on Sunday and Monday.(I posted a picture with all the daily specials… too lazy to write em down). The menu wasn’t too big, but they have some Irish items like Bangers, Shepherds Pie, and English Fish N Chips(I know… not Irish). Besides those, they got your normal pub grub(wings, sandwiches, burgers, etc) My buddy got the Fish N Chips and I ordered the Canuck Puck Burger(Burger with Peameal Bacon)…and I ordered more bacon on top of it, because you could never have too much bacon. Along with our entrees, we got an order of Guinness BBQ Wings cause I gotta try wings from everywhere. The wings were the first thing to come up and damn… they were GOOD. I’ve had wings all over the East Coast and these were some seriously good ones.(Probably the best I’ve had in all of Windsor). The wings were sauced right and were STILL crisp. The meat was thick too. They are definitely worth getting again and again. I’m just hoping that it wasn’t a one time thing that they were good. Next came our entrees. The Canuck Puck Burger was great. Every bite had a piece of bacon(Well…i did order extra bacon… so that would explain that). The burger meat was a little dry, but tasted fine. The burger meat wasn’t incredible but it was big and satisfying. The fries were great cause they’re the ones with the skins on em(unless you dont like that stuff). They were a little salty, so just a heads up. The English Fish N Chips looked great. The batter wasn’t overbearing like most cheaper places would have it and comes with 2 large fish fillets(either cod or haddock), all on a bed of those fries and tartar sauce. I tasted the fish and it wasn’t bad. Overall, I would definitely come back to this place and will have to frequent it for those 2−4−1 wings specials. They’ve got a bunch of daily food and drink specials as well as entertainment on most nights(not that other bars don’t…). I hear this place used to be really popular back in the day, but people need to give this place if they haven’t yet.

This was the place my first legal drink. I am one of those annoying Americans that invade Windsor on weekends(only I am not from Michigan I was visiting a Windsorite). This is a pretty chilled out place to go. They have pretty good food too.

Had a nice dinner and pints here with my parents after checking on the boat at its winter digs and taking a hike down to Point Pelee earlier in the day. Surprisingly good samosa and a tasty veggie dish for me, and my parents enjoyed their meat-based dinners. Good portions, good prices. Would be interesting to see what it’s like on the weekends.
