Angelic Teapot

Great find in White Rock and on the beach! Never knew about them until I came upon them one afternoon while window shopping. Great selection of premium loose leaf tea — and great pricing too!

This is a gorgeous mom and pop tea shop in White Rock. They sell an amazing variety of teas and accessories, including some very cute knickknacks that would make great gifts.
I stopped in with my Mother after visiting the Ling Yen Mountain Temple (a Buddhist monastery in Richmond, BC) and enjoying an amazing homemade tea during the Chinese New Year’s Eve. We wanted to replicate the tea we tried at the temple, and the owner Maureen was more than happy to help us mix and match the different teas, then brewed us up cups to try. She was happy to have us there, and we really felt welcome.
In the end, we picked up some White Coconut Cream (white tea), Jasmine Dragon Tears (green tea), and Scottish Caramel Pu-​erh (black tea). I’m more of a coffee kinda guy, so I needed a lot of help and instruction in how to use loose leaf teas. Maureen was more than happy to teach me all about brewing times and temperatures, and gave me handy cheat-​sheets to remember how to brew each tea when I got home.
Then, after we picked up the tea we really loved, she gave us a whole bunch of free samples for the teas we were also interested in, but weren’t confident enough to pull the trigger on. We took home some Long Island Strawberry (green tea), Ooloong Orange Blossom (green tea), and some amazing, smoky Lapsang Souchong (black tea).
We can’t wait to try out all our new teas, and we can’t wait to come back to pick up some new ones!
