Sat for fifteen minutes without a drink order. Waiting staff would not even make eye contact with us. We were sitting right at the front beside the maitre d, who just stood there the whole time without helping either. A manager even came to the table beside ours and served them a drink, but then walked away as I called to him. We were polite, so I’m not sure why everyone was ignoring us like that. We walked out the way we came in and went somewhere else. I’m embarrassed for the owners of this establishment.

Good Food. Sloppy Math. Server made $ 40 error and charged us for stuff never ordered. Poor Dining Experience. Not Recommended for Service.

Atmosphere is great. Exactly what you expect for cozy ski resort style and comfort. Cocktails are well done also. Breakfast buffet is good and fast which is what you need to whiz off to the hill early in the morning. Dinner on the other hand is mediocre especially for the price. Crab cakes were from frozen not fresh made. Salmon was thin and not much flavor. Brussel sprouts were steamed and tasteless even though included with bacon. Service was well done although they couldn’t find our reservation, they still sat us. Was really expecting more from the Four Seasons.

Our drinks came to our table and they were not what we ordered. It took 20 minutes(after waiting 15 – 20) for the drinks to be re-made. The staff seams to walk around and appear busy but not really doing what’s important. Our water was empty and drinks gone and 5 – 6 of the wait staff just walked by. We had to yell to get someone’s attention as a hand in the air was ignored or unseen… It’s a shame that the chefs get a poor review because of the staff. The food was prepared very well but came out cold. Overall, it is not an experience I would recommend.

This place is absolutely amazing. Every bite was totally exceeding expectations from the amazing bread they give u with their unique maple butter to the delicious seafood and steaks cooked to perfection. Staff is super courteous and efficient ensuring your dining experience is top notch. The special selection of sauces with your steak is a delightful fun and unique way to experiment with the chefs brilliant flavours that complement the steaks.

Excellent food, great wine selection and super helpful staff. We spent the night at the Four Seasons and came here for dinner. The entire experience was great, Though it’s a steak house, the menu had a healthy selection of non-steak options, with some interesting-sounding seafood dishes, lamb and venison, which I ordered. The meat was cooked beautifully with a dry rub(optional, but recommended) and came with its own sides(though we still ordered the red cabbage, broccoli and sauteed mushrooms — all excellent). For wine, I tried the sidecar reserve meritage, which was lovely. We were there celebrating a special occasion, and without asking the waiter brought out a platter of small deserts, with ‘congratulations’ written in sauce. A very nice touch. Definitely in the $$$$ range, but you get what you pay for.

Remarkable service and amazing food. They made our night so special since it was our honeymoon. The provided us with a custom dessert as a surprise based on what they gathered from where we talked about where we were from. That is above and beyond out of their way in service. Oh, and the steak ribs are delicious.

The service is reason alone to come here. I was so impressed by the attention to detail. The food was very good — though not the best we had in Whistler. My husband enjoyed the filet with Edison’s rub — he said it was tender and flavorful. It was quite pricey based on the portions — the main downside to this restaurant.

I’m giving it 2 stars because we are 1 hour and 40 minutes without getting our entrée… Once we get our entrees I might move it to 1 star, but no chance of moving it to 3. We have an 8 year old with us, who they served her dinner 45 minutes ago… It’s super fun to entertain an 8 year old for that long after they have been served. The staff is very nice, but there is just no reason to be sitting here this long. The restaurant is not full, not exactly what you expect out of a four seasons restaurant. Way too many great restaurants to eat at in Whistler to waste your time here.

Very expensive, but from drinks to appetizers to entrée to dessert, everything is incredible. We called Saturday morning before we left for the ski lifts to make a reservation for that night. The earliest we could get was 8:45pm. When we arrived, we were given a coat check. We then started with cocktails, which were delicious. I had a Canadian whiskey with maple syrup. Sounded strange, but was tasty. There were four people in our party who ordered the Cowboy, which includes a 56 ounce porterhouse, 4 appetizers, 4 sides and a bottle of wine. This is one BIG steak! I started with the spinach salad with steak. Both the spinach and steak were tasty. As a side salad, I would have been happy with a half-portion size, but the salad was good. For my entrée, I decided to go with an off-menu special, the elk steak. It was delicious and would definitely order it again. I agree with other Unilocalers about the gimmicky rubs that are offered and just went with the recommended one. Good flavor. Overall, our meal was over $ 150cad a person. It was the most expensive meal on our trip, but think it was mostly due to costly appetizers, salads, drinks, and desserts. If you are coming just for steak and a side(or even shrimp/scallop add-ons), you will get a moderately priced meal. But, I was on vacation… who wants to do that? I would like to return and try the deer.

Went twice– once with normal menu, the other time with a prix fixe menu for NYE. Whether it is the infrared grill or whatever sorcery it is, it works. Perhaps a deal with the steak devil? Great service too. The appetizers are in sharp contrast to the mains in that they’re not nearly as good as the main attractions, which is a shame because there are some good ideas there. Maybe skip apps, dive into a steak, and don’t forget to tip your cardiologist.

Fabulous food and great service. Wines gloriously overpriced. $ 80+ for a bottle of Okanagan wine that sells for 20 at the store. If the market will bear it… keep it up.

I really need to make sure people understand that 3 stars is not«A-OK», it’s really like, meh, I had better. Anyway, that’s my feeling. After spending $ 400 for dinner(with wine), I felt like I didn’t get my money worth. The steak was not bad, but too burn on the outside, I think their grill is too strong even though the meat was done exactly how I wanted it… medium rare. The Foie Gras was too dry, quite a disappointment in deed. However, I did like the bread very much. Fresh and warm and tasty.

It was our first dinner in Whistler and we are so happy it set a great tone for the week. It was one of my husband’s best meals ever. His New York strip was cooked to perfection with a selected rub. The sear on the steak was done nicely, and accompanied by their signature steak sauces and butter, I could see he was smiling with every bite. Service was outstanding.

I recently visited Whistler for a girls’ weekend and we were staying at the Four Seasons Resort. After checking in on our first evening, we decided to eat dinner within the hotel and chose Sidecut over the adjacent Fifty Two 80 Bistro. Our server, Mark, was charming and attentive and genuinely welcomed us as it was our first time visiting Sidecut. He explained the menu, the process(all the steaks are ordered à la carte) and suggested pairings. Sidecut offers a handful of rubs you can select for the cut of steak you choose, and all steaks are served with a quartet of house-made sauces. We each chose a 6oz. tenderloin and I opted for the Black Angus rub — tangy with a bit of spice and as «classic» as a steak rub can be. Sides are served family style, so we dugs into whipped Yukon potatoes and roasted mushrooms with Alaskan King Crab legs on the side. Washing it all down with a glass or two of Inniskillan cabernet sauvignon, the meal was entirely decadent but every last crumb was mouthwateringly delicious. And speaking of crumbs, Mark brought us a basket of freshly-baked popovers and foccacia bread with whipped butter and celery salt. Wow. All-in-all incredible. Though Sidecut offers a three-course meal option for $ 39, none of those options include a cut of steak. And let’s be honest: the steak is why visitors come to Sidecut. You won’t be disappointed.

Based on all of the Unilocal reviews, we were pretty hyped up to have dinner at Sidecut, but ended up being a bit disappointed. Located inside the Four Seasons, we made out way inside the posh, modern restaurant. Although we showed up a little early, and there weren’t many diners in the restaurant, the maitre’d would not seat us right away. Instead, we sat in a waiting area where they were hoping we’d order drinks for 15 minutes prior to dinner. When we were finally taken to our table, we were introduced to the menu of probably a dozen or more different cuts of steak and what seemed like two dozen different types of rubs and sauces that you could have with your steak. It was quite overwhelming, really. I had the little baseball cut(forgot what rub) and tried a new sauce with each bite. The steak itself was cooked medium, the sides of veggies and potatoes were enjoyed… But I think the variety of sauces and rubs were just complete overkill. It’s just unnecessary. We walked out full, wanting to loosen our belts, but also we also felt like it was just a gimmick and not quite worth the money.

Yes agree with Court C, at this price point average at best… Dinner for 2: 2 Apps, 36 Oz bone-in Ribeye, 2 Sides, 3 watered down cocktails(must be pouring from measured shots), 1 btl of Washington State cabernet(even though the menu said California), 15% tip $ 400; Granted the btl of wine was $ 125 and was good… Pros: Service was good, atmosphere was lively, cassoulet side dish was honestly best part of the meal they should offer as a main course! Cons: Drinks $ 12 each were measured pours and my Old Fashioned was more soda than drink. Wedge salad with blue cheese dressing was watery and the tomatoes had no taste Meh: 36 oz Ribeye was good but not $ 110 good. They bring out all these sauces and have multiple rubs… Really? Good steak should stand alone. It was good but again not $ 110 good. We ordered medium rare and it was cooked slightly cooler but better cooler than warmer. Desert menu was not to our liking so we ordered room service.
