Rhonda Rousey. Duo rollercoaster simulation ride… betches were hoggin it. Roll eyes. Shooter games. «Win me a teddy bear, baby» games. Racing cars, dodging bullets, kickin ass and SUPER SIZE CONNECT FOUR!!!
Poptopia popcorn Chicago mix, and chocolate caramel and oh… just add everything… I’m a librA I’m indecisive as fuq.
9:55 pm Star Wars 3D. Kylo ren time. Heels off, legs up, kale chips n snapea crisps in my mouf. Force is with me. Fade to black…

I went to see Star Wars in IMAX last night and there was some sort of GLITCH with the screen the whole time. It looked like there was a fruit fly in the projector room and it was flying over the lens. There was a black dot moving across my vision the entire duration of the film. It was irritating and I didn’t enjoy the movie at all. Star Wars is an incredible film and I paid extra to see it in IMAX and it was ruined because Cineplex Vaughan was so lazy and incompetent.

They’ve done some renovations and now have ULTRA AVX!
I love going to this theater because it’s got Cheapey Tuesdays aka half price Tuesdays!
They also have I-​MAX which has been there for a while.
The chairs are all lean back in all the theaters which is a bonus and are more comfy!

Watched Star Wars ep. 7 in the IMAX. Image quality is good, seat is comfortable, not too cramp. Love the fact that we were able to pick the seat when we ordered. No wasting time in the useless lineup. About time we use the technology for something simple as assigning movie theatre seat. Could’ve used the time for something more productive.

They screw up the beginning of the movies almost every tie I have gone there. They just forget to turn off the lights and fix the sound… isn’t that the one thing toy are suppose to do right in a movie theater. The best one was when they put an entirely different movie than what we payed for and took then 20 minutes to fix it…
I like the imax there as its a huge screen, but I don’t thing I can give any other pluses…

I don’t watch movies often, because of rising ticket prices, but when I do I’d like to get my bang for my buck. First of all the theater was packed so we had assigned seats which to me is kind of ridiculous. I mean why should someone who buys a ticket online a day before me be allowed to get a better seat then a person who’s actually there and has already bought a ticket? It’s always been a first come first serve policy and I’ve always been happy with that. So I was stuck with the front seats which really hurt my eyes during fighting and action scenes where the camera was moving really quick, it was really hard to watch the film, without the eyes hurting.
And the Parking sucked, yes there’s plenty of spaces to park during non busy times but during busy times there’s literally nowhere to park. We had to park in a plaza next door and spend extra time to get to the movie on time.
And then I had to raise my head for almost three hours to see what was happening. I mean we’re in 2015 and this issue of no one wanting front seats still hasn’t been solved. If they’re going to update with «new» seating policies then they should at least solve the issue of terrible seat placements in a theatre that have existed for decades. I’ve seen new theatres that have updated seats and none of them were ever that close to the screen.
This’ll probably be the last time I go to Colossus, it was good in the past but to me these new policies and tiered treatment of customers doesn’t really make me want to go back. Not to mention their expensive food and drinks, but I guess all movie theatres do that.

As most people know, colossus was a very interesting looking theatre when it was first built, but looks quite ordinary now. They’ve significantly upgraded the interior recently, making it look like a big arcade. One of the best movie theatres in the gta to go watch a movie and have a good time.

Went to a matinée. Tickets, popcorn and drinks for two cost nearly $ 50. They had a deal where you could exchange your first born for a bag of M&Ms, but we left the kids at home this time. Big mistake. I love M&Ms and our first born was just a practice kid until we got our parenting skills up to par. The film industry is upset people are pirating their films, but with the way the theaters rip you off, I think people are just trying to get their money’s worth. Tip: bring in a blanket so you and your significant other can get down to business during the 40 minutes of commercials before the movie.

It’s your average theatre. Very busy. We were delayed in getting to sit because the staff were cleaning from previous show. They missed quite a bit of garbage. My seat had dirty used napkins stuffed in the seat.
It was a pretty average experience.

I have to say my 3 start is not because of Colossus in particular. I just find movie theatres ridiculously over priced these days which adds to my overall disappointment. Have been here for movies a few times recently. This is one very busy theater and as such is dirty. I can understand that it’s difficult to really clean the theatres and without a major overhaul there isn’t much they can do. Overall okay experience.

Spotlessly clean and designed to milk every last loonie from your pocket, this place is a destination, not just a movie theatre. The young ones we saw were in awe of the flashing lights, games and concession stands.
Took my niece (same one as in the initial review) to see Mockingjay. Ordered the tickets on line so we’d be in a theatre with reserved seating (there were 3 of us and we wanted to ensure we could all sit together). Cineplex sends back an email with your tickets, so all you have to do is print them off and bring them… this allows you to go directly to the theatre and avoid the box office and kiosks.
Throughout our entire time at the theatre, not once were we asked to see a ticket… we could have walked in off the streets and watched the movie for free. There was one male staff member who (I assume) was supossed to check tickets for theatres 1 — 5, but he could really have cared less and was more interested in either talking to another employee or reading the Tribute magazine. Scores of people walked by him and he never stopped anyone to ask to see their tickets.
Theatre was comfortable, sound system amazing, reclining chairs with plenty of leg room… great place to see a movie.

The popcorn is AMAZING, and there is always excellent service. Also it’s a cool design but the D-​box seats are really expensive, it should be cheaper.

Visited this theatre recently on a busy Saturday evening. Parking as usual at this location is rather full; people parking in snow banks and on the sidewalks. Concessions were quick if you chose the right line, some employees are quick others slower than you can imagine.
Now on to the theatre itself. We opted for the AVX theatre, had all the regular things you’d expect from the AVX with one downside… leg room. I’ve found other Cineplex locations to have adequate leg room, even in the AVX theatres that have the larger seats that recline further back. This location however when the person in front of you is fully reclined back the leg room is non existent. I can’t begin to imagine how many times my chair was accidentally kicked throughout the 2-​hour movie, not due to an unruly patron but due to the tight confines and design of this particular theatre.
I won’t be back to the AVX theatres at Colossus Vaughan.

Very popular movie theatre, there is usually a lot of people in the lineups. On my last visit, movie ticket lineups moved quite quickly.
The staff weren’t very friendly to my girlfriend & I. Our scene cards barcode wasn’t scanning from our phone. The lady at the desk must have tried about 20 times, as she huffed and puffed. She asked us to change the brightness on my screen. (My screen was already set at the brightest setting) So I asked her if it was possible to type the number in — and she rudely said yes. As if it was a bother. My girlfriend very politely said thank you & was ignored by the lady.
The lineups at the concession stand were barely moving. I heard at least 3 groups of people complaining about the service. I felt as if the staff at the concession stand were much less experienced then the rest of the staff. The young man helping us was so confused, he was literally walking in circles.
They have a new caramel covered popcorn «poptopia» — I wouldn’t recommend it — tasted a little fishy?
Token/​change machines in the gaming area never work.

Nice place to stop by from a road trip with friends, close to a few shops an food, great for a quick *hey lets watch a movie in this gigantic theatre!* really nice setting and theme. Visiting from toronto isn’t really big an all, but it’s close by so you might as well check it out!

It is just a movie theater right? Nope its an entertainment destination
Ciniplex has been busy trying to be an entertainment destination and bring fun and value beyond first run movies.
They have an arcade, they offer a free entertainment magazine, they offer a food court, an online digital rental service and a rewards card called SCENE.
With little competition they are pretty much the market share owner. That doesn’t justify the high food prices either citing business economics but the large buildings surely have high hydro and heating bills.
What they are great at doing is bringing other entertainment ideas to the mix. There are various opera, concerts, special run documentaries and events to the mix. They also have invested in the latest screen and sound presentation technologies that add to the enjoyment factor.

Conveniently located at 400 and 7. Great location as one can shop, dine and then catch a movie, tons of options in the area.
Parking never an issue as but I usually come here on a Tuesday afternoon.
I probably will come back for a movie to kill some time especially when it is so hot outside. Nothing special here worth a special trip!

To be honest I was intrigued by the look of the theatre itself and decided to visit for the sake of going to a different theater. The outside is cool, but the inside has nothing really special to speak of. Kinda seems crammed.

The name would imply that there would be a Greek God or Titan type theme, but it couldn’t be further from that. It’s shaped like a UFO from the outside which is pretty cool, and the inside is space themed as well, complete with Starwars paraphernalia scattered about. I guess there was nothing in this genre big enough like Colossus to name the theatre.
Getting tickets was pretty quick and painless. I had a gift card on my phone which got the cashier a bit jumbled but with help from a co-​worker we got through it.
We were slightly early for our show and saw that the Yogen Früz serves Starbucks. For a premium price you can order a latte from what looked like a Keurig machine with a pretty weak excuse for frothed milk on top. At least when I saw it I was not so surprised that it tasted just awful. Starbucks should really take their name off the coffee being served there. Had that been my first experience with Starbucks it would really boggle me as to why they are so popular, luckily this is not the case. The service also lacked in regard to trying to keep up with the volume of orders. In other words it took a long time to get this crappy coffee.
We went to the concession stand and got a snack for the show and proceeded to the theatre, where we were told to stand in line, by this time the show was only 15 minutes from starting. I was a bit surprised we couldn’t go get seats. Nevertheless we did as we were told and almost decided to forego the show as it looked as though we were to have to wait or get poor seats. That wasn’t the case as the line let in shortly after we arrived.
In the theatre was probably the single best experience I’ve ever had, aside from the seats being totally uncomfortable. I did not hear a single phone ring, nor did I hear people trying to converse over the volume of the movie as I usually do.

Great place for movies! YaY!

At first I thought the reviews had to be wrong, Colossus had to be 5-​stars, look at it! Upon going into the IMAX theatre and enduring the entire movie this place definitely wasn’t as good as I had hoped.
The seats in the theatre were cramped as hell. My legs ended up almost touching the heads of the people in front of us. The old, rude person who sat in front of me and my friend kept leaning back to crush our legs. It was so cramped there was barely any room to walk back to your seat if you left.
The screen was so huge but we found it was overly blurry at parts. Maybe it was the movie but I highly doubt a blockbuster like Batman would have filming issues.
Overall, a bad theatre experience but a great movie. Maybe If I come here again and try a different theatre my review might be (slightly) better.

As the name implies, this is a pretty big one. Parking is great. There’s a whole slew of restaurants and coffee places to visit before or after the movie. Lots of big box stores you can also kill time at while waiting for your movie. I personally like to hit the Dollarama and buy some of those wet naps. Great to keep in the backpack. As well, you can load up on some 69 cent chocolate bars and sneak them into the theater. You’re even a short walk away from a Five Guys. (Sure you can drive over there and the «north of Toronto» ethic expects you to drive but I need the exercise.)
Okay, the theater itself. There is that IMAX theater all jerked out for 3D and digital sound systems with 3 letter acronyms that I think all just mean «loud». the IMAX experience has never, for my money, been worth the extra $ 3 or $ 4. First you need to get the sweet spot. And that means lining up a long time before the movie starts. And the sweet spot means dead center. Which is a bitch for people like me who like to go to the bathroom twice during a 2 hour movie. Look, I have small bladder and I drink a lot of liquids. The screen isn’t all that big to start with (not like some of the museum IMAX experiences).
Purchasing food is a pain. You seem to have to line up to buy it at the main kiosk and then line up again to pick it up at the specialty kiosk. And last time I went I just wanted a coffee and the guy at the coffee kiosk was AWOL. I waited 10 minutes and then just walked over to the Second Cup and got my coffee there.
They have this new AVX theater similar to the version found at the AMC Dundas 24. I found the AMC Dundas version a lot, lot better. The AMC version is bigger and way more immersive. The Colossus version is just a big screen in front of you. This theater does have «rocker’ seats that recline a bit. Seattle’s venerable Cinerama had this kind of seating for years, although lacking the high back chair aspect and the stadium seating. The Colossus implementation was quite a bit nicer.
Washrooms are outside the ticketed area. I hate that. You have to remember to bring your ticket with you when you go to the can. And theaters are not contiguous so you’re mostly SOL for a 2−4−1 on DL.
There are a lot of Star Wars and Star Trek prop that abound. It makes for a more festive experience. Nothing like a fire breathing dragon at the theater at the West Edmonton mall but still. And unlike nearly every theater in downtown Toronto you get far less douche bags talking and texting next to you.

Famous Players Colossus has 18 screens and one six story IMAX screen. It has a giant UFO on the roof with flashing lights that can be seen for a long distance. You always know you are back in Toronto when you see the odd looking building.
The second floor is a fully licensed lounge offering alcoholic beverages and cocktails.
The ATM machines are like green aliens greeting you as you enter the building. There are lots of Star Trek decorations hanging from the ceiling.
The only downfall is this location used to be a drive-​in and personally I love drive-in’s and in some places its hard to find one still around…
