First time going here, wasn’t too impressed. The tea was weak, the miso soup wasn’t that fresh and I heard a microwave ding while waiting for my order. I’ve definitely had better. The beef teriyaki roll was a bit cold with watered down sauce and the California roll was on the small side. I will give Wild Sushi an extra star for cleanliness, but there are plenty of other sushi places to go to in Vancouver. Don’t waste your time or money on Wild Sushi.

The kind of sushi restaurant that you really only go to if you live nearby. Because, if it’s your local spot, it’s a great spot! Quiet, decent ambience, decent sushi, decent prices, but really nothing worth venturing too far for.

Great quick service, they have a lunch feature where you pick two items and get a miso soup for 7 $. Super yummy and great prices :)

I love this place! We were so Happy that Dunbar finally got a great restaurant with a decent price. Great sushi! Large portions! Great prices and friendly staff… Dunbar is lacking big time in decent cheap places to eat, me and my boyfriend hit up Wild Sushi at least once a week.

While I don’t eat much raw fish at sushi places, this place has consistantly had the best BC roll I’ve ever had. The portions seem quite large, and the price is good as well. The miso I have had the last couple of times has been average, but otherwise all the rolls have been excellent! Sushi Q down the street is also good and slightly cheaper, but it terms of quality and quantity I’d have to give the title of Dunbar sushi king to Wild Sushi.

I’m giving this three stars purely because I didn’t really give them a test drive. I try to reserve 4 stars for ‘heartily recommended’, and because I only had lunch, and take out for that matter, I hesitate at this point. The sushi was tasty, and I walked in and ordered(didn’t call ahead) — they made my Lunch Special super fast, which was really nice. Liked the salmon roll a lot, which isn’t my favorite fish in most cases.

I’ve only done takeout, so I can’t comment on eating there. We’ve been doing takeout from here since it opened(every couple weeks or so). Over that period, we’ve never had any bad fish experiences as the other reviewer noted(maybe early on, the fish wasn’t moving as fast). Also, we tend to limit our selections to nigiri and simple rolls(never been a fan of over-stuffed-with-everything-in-the-kitchen-named-after-local-area rolls.) Now that the caveats are done, here is my perception: The fish is fresh with a nice clean taste, and the pieces are not stringy. The sunomono is good, but the ‘soup’ could be a bit more sweet/sour. The miso soup is good, but agree on more seaweed and tofu. Definitely, a good choice for takeout(I see more customers picking up orders than eating in and this is why I gave it 4 stars), but needs help with dine-in experience. A liquor license would help…

Let this be a lesson to you — «wild» sushi does not mean sustainable sushi!(Actually, I knew that ;p) Dark slate floors, bricks, and deep green paint has transformed the former Longhouse Seafood Market into a pretty standard sushi place with a nicer ambiance. The one page menu includes regular rolls(avocado was perfectly buttery) and some fancier«house rolls» along with sushi combos and party trays. The only hot things on the menu are the miso soup(tasty, but more seaweeds and tofu please!) and gyoza. Lunch combos are competitively priced — starting at $ 6.95 for 20 piece set. The offputting part was the one piece of wild salmon nigiri I ordered — of course, me saving what I thought was best for last, was excited to bite into my wild salmon — but, alas, it had that not-so-fresh smell/taste to it. Still borderline, I ate away, but there was no savoring there!
