Granted, being from NYC we don’t have the abundance of lower cost, really good sushi places like Vancouver, But this place is legit no matter what city your from. The wild salmon sashimi was delicious. Also, they gave us a free corn«tempura-type» app which was SOGOOD. I could see it being a fixture in Bklyn’s smorgasburg. This is totally a local, neighborhood joint, but if your in this ‘hood, look no further.

I really like this little gem. They have brown rice sushi and the staff is pleasant. I like the staff here. It’s a neighbourhood(neighborhood for you Americans) Japanese restaurant that caters to this corridor of Dunbar. Owners are not Japanese, but in this case, it’s all good! There are other Japanese eateries here, but this one is worth trying out. You may end up coming back again, like I have. Service — 4.5 stars Sushi — 4 stars — very good, but I need to try more. Brown rice option? 5 stars Décor — local neighbourhood style with a few Japanese posters and things. Good! Prices — Very good. I will have to bring my Japanese Food Critique to get her evaluation. As for moi. I like.

I have been to this place many times and I really enjoy the salmon sashimi as well as the chicken teriyaki. The tempura ice cream is really tasty!

Well they’ve made a few changing a and cleaned it up a bit which is always a good thing. Service can be hit and miss I find the food just ok and with so many places to go for sushi they really need to work on standing out.

This establishment gets a 4-star because it’s a good value for what you are paying. You can get a roll for $ 3 – 4. I have always had great service! The people who work there are super nice.

Good food. Their spicy tuna roll is one of the best I have had. The service is very friendly but can be a little slow.

Sushi was mediocre with atrocious service. Waited 45 minutes for my order. Watched 2 – 3 take away orders get served before our table. No apology or acknowledgement during the wait. I suggest going to Dream Sushi across the street or down to Broadway rather than eat here. Even Mexicali(cheap mexican) next door is better.

They are the same owners when it was the Lucky Star/Chinese Food, which was a lame fast food Western Chinese food with non fresh menu items. I recall the chow Mein noodles was very greasy with rotten/old vegetables. Now, the business is sushi with the same owners, hate to tell the truth !! but quality is not there. you have to have the best number one grade seafood/fish.

On the way back from Nightwatch Video on Dunbar with my best friend, we were walking to the bus stop, talking about movies when my eyes accidently glanced at something in the window which read, «Tempura Ice Cream.» At first I thought that it was bad grammar or poor translation. My best friend encouraged me to check out the establishment and inquire about the ice cream. The lady at the til was very friendly and explained to me about the dessert which is exactly what it says outside the window. It is a small ice cream bar battered in tempura and then fried. I took a menu and walked out hoping to go in the next time I was at the video store, however, I looked a few seconds at my best friend and we decided to try it out. The dessert wasn’t as cold as it should’ve been and was almost melted, however, it tasted like a fried cream donut or something that you would only get at the PNE. It was a nice small tried and a culinary adventure for the both of us.

Have to pay cash if under $ 10 so it’s a bit of a hastle sometimes but the food is ok. Décor needs work. one of the better west side chinese restaurants only because there is not much selection near Dunbar.
