This shop is great! They have friendly and very knowledgeable staff who are passionate about providing sustainable, local and delicious meat. They can tell me where the meat I’m buying is from, what the animal ate and maybe even the name of the farmer who raised it. Their bacon is absolutely AMAZING!!! My kids go crazy for their meatballs. I love that they don’t use nitrates in their sandwich meats and cured meats. It’s worth the trip out there every time we go.

The staff are knowledgeable and engaged, and extremely friendly. The meat itself is beyond compare, especially the bacon!

Who doesn’t love bacon, esp. on a Friday morning ;) Walked in a few days ago, and just snooping around, but when you see garlic and thyme-laced bacon, it’s definitely worth trying. Obviously better quality than a Dennys… just 10% fat, and meaty. Liked how he asked if I wanted this to be cut thin, medium or thick…(chose medium for those who are curious) coffee bacon also there too. clean, bright place. Metered parking all around.

I’ve been here three times over the past 18 months. I only came back after the first time because I live so far from better butchers. My fallback meat source is actually Choices because they have a butcher on site, but they don’t always have what I need. I feel that the servers — some of whom are owners — carefully evade stating the source of their products because their products are not organic. Recently, one owner answered in the affirmative when I asked if the liver was organic, so I bought a lot to make a pâté. I guess he felt that he wasn’t lying if he didn’t actually make the declaration ‘organic’, since I was the one who used the word. and he just answered ‘yes’. The liver we bought was very strong tasting, not labeled organic and we didn’t like it so we tossed it. The bacon is only so-so. There’s a Polish deli in the burbs that has incredible house-made bacon, but it’s almost an hour from home, so we don’t get it that often. I think West Broadway Meat Co. needs to significantly improve their tactics and their quality. I think they’re just getting by because the trend is toward independant, locally sourced food and they believe those stipulations are enough for their customers. Unfortunately, the veneer is transparent to me and I just find this place to lack the quality and honesty I want.
