I was here on Friday night around dinner. The poutine portion was small, the fries arrived after we had finished our burgers and were cold and the buns for my sliders were stale. I will not be back. Would have been better off getting $ 0.99 pizza.

I’ve been to two Vera’s now and at both places the servers where absolutely clueless and downright depressing, they pretty much didn’t say a word. The burgers are also absolutely horrible, the products don’t taste fresh at all and the buns are dry and taste old. Aside from that the facilities are also in horrible shape. Both places had worn out to severally damaged seats and broken lightening. I will never visit Vera’s again, they are a stain on the Vancouver burger scene.

Every time I’ve walked by, it has been completely empty. That should have been a clue. A couple bored staff, half asleep on the counter. «Milkshakes» that taste and feel like old milk with strawberry cancer flavouring, with clumps of who knows what. The multiple mice that were crawling around our feet was beyond revolting. Never ever coming back.

Worst, most clueless service I have ever witnessed in my life, and I haven’t even seen my food. Holy crap is all I have to say. This place needs to get its proverbial shit together. There is so much tension here became the every one is tripping out. Clearly the locals know not to come here.

That’s it I’m done. This is the third time I have had a bad quality controlled food item from here. Twice undercooked patties… and then today a lettuce leaf COVERED in white mold/​fungus. It was so blatantly covered how the «chef» missed it beyond me. I asked if they wash the lettuce, to which the guy said NO! because it comes washed… NOPE NOPE NOPE DONE. BEWARE.

Love Vera’s burgers. Pawer, stinger and lamb are my fav.
They used to have a free burger on your bdays but they rid that now sadly…
I love the toppings especially the egg and jalapeño poppers. Mmmmmm
But best deals are the weekday specials so make sure to check them out… My only minus one star is the price of lamb burger and that it is served on hamburger bun… I prefer them in less soggy buns like Portuguese bun or brioche.

This is my favorite Vera’s location cause it’s in Gastown and so you’ll have the brick walls and huge floor to wall windows.

Greasy and overrated. I’m not generally a burger fan but freshly cooked homemade burgers with organic ingredients and everything made from scratch can taste very good. Vera’s was described as the best burgers in Canada but it seems perhaps only slightly better than fast food to me tbh. I’ve certainly had better burgers at home.

Ordered a Poutine with bacon. Sat down. Waited fifteen minutes. Poutine arrived over cooked. Server didn’t even remove garbage from last customer clearly piled on table. Plastic fork to cheep in quality to penetrate fries. Poutine was missing cheese. Returned Poutine to staff who barely said four words in the exchange; none of them «sorry». Five more minutes Poutine arrived with all ingredients. Fries were under cooked inside. Are it anyway.
Second server left garbage on table…
Nothing more worth saying.

Good for a quick bite, when you can’t wait for something with a bit more consistent quality.
The portions are decent sized and the Canuck Combo is a decent deal, the biggest issue is that the food quality varies drastically depending on who’s actually cooking it.
Could be great if they managed to consistently make a great burger, but until then it’s really only a last resort.

I don’t get what the big deal is about this place, it’s greasy hamburgers and Greasy fries, they are way overrated and priced, the onion rings are just average and way overpriced, the staff never smiles and treats you like a herd of cattle, it’s just a fast food joint trying to make money off the lowly hamburger, it’s old it’s been done 1000 times over and over give it up with the hamburger already!

Hubs and I stopped in for a late night snack, we shared a Vera burger and poutine. The burger was very good even though it was a bare bones burger :) the poutine was delicious. Hard to go wrong with poutine! Service was only ok and the place was dead. Great weekly specials and a really good Unilocal check in offer!

Big props to Vera’s for having the Pawer Burger on their menu.
I’m not a huge fan of burgers, but am one who like theirs a’la oeuf. To me the fried egg is the greatest addition to a burger since the invention of cheese.
At Vera’s, the default version comes with fried onions, which is ok, but does not add to it. The price is decent too ($ 8.99)
