I’ve used these guys twice in the past, and called in to have my HTC one glass repaired. The person on the phone said it would take a day to repair it. I asked why, she said «it could be that we don’t have it in stock, or we’re busy, or it takes longer or something». and I’m like «what???» so I asked to speak to a technician, to try and schedule a time, or get an answer, and she says «I am a technician» — so I asked her why she’s so confused as to why it would take so long, and she gets offended — I ended up taking it to another place, that did it for 20% less, and within two hours — Yolo Repairs (hate the name, the service was great, however).
The absurd accusation that I was being racist is utter nonsense. I was talking to this person OVER THE PHONE — and so he’s now suggesting that I determined she was assumedly non-​caucasian, and that I am caucasian? I’m not the one racist here, but thanks for coming out. I did ask for someone who’s English comprehension was better — but that was because she was seemingly so confused. Had nothing to do with racism, nor I am aware at this point whether the person I was speaking to was caucasian or other. I don’t recall detecting an accent — but that would make too much sense. A feeble attempt to discredit the review.

Got my phone unlocked here so that I can use it in the United States, I called to get a price, then dropped it off and it was done within 30 minutes. Easy and Painless

The screen on my blackberry cracked TWICE and each time these guys were able to save the day by replacing the glass. The turn-​around time is also quite fast. A little out of the way but it’s the only reliable place in town I’ve heard that can fix a cracked screen. Overall, highly recommended if you happen to have the misfortune of breaking your phone!

I got TOP notch competent service with no-​charge extras. It was a BB 8510 screen replacement at a reasonable price, got a free new cover as well as pro service. Could open a little earlier than 11am, say 9, but Im not running the show here

I tried calling a few shops around town, Vancell had the parts in stock to fix my phone and gave me a much more reasonable quote. Irene gave me a quick debrief on what they repaired and seemed very knowledgeable about the components. It’s also nice that they use OEM parts and have a 6 month warranty.

I was looking to get my old Berry unlocked, and I emailed around my office for recommendations. Two emails came back suggesting VanCell so off I went.
I have to admit, I was a little worried at first. I’ve been really burned by shady and unprofessional places in past, but I am SO thrilled to report that VanCell is highly professional, respectful and JB/​Irene are friendly and COMPETENT! The prices were really reasonable and I was able to park it on one of their plush chairs to relax for a few moments while the work was being done on my phone.
Amazing overall experience, I am glad to give VanCell the 5* stamp of approval!

I could not be happier with the service I received at vancell. After an initial repair which worked for 18 months (three times the warranty period for the repair), my screen failed. After reading my update below, JB contacted me and offered to have a look, for free, despite the expired warranty — as often the cables can come loose, leading to the symptoms I experienced.
I brought it in a while later, and a very pleasant tech, Irene, took a look and determined it wasn’t the cables — but then offered to replace the screen on the spot, for free, out of warranty, with no receipt or anything, and with no indication that their original repair was in any way related to the current malfunction.
Given typical service I receive at «aftermarket» repair shops, particularly when the topic is technical enough that you are at an information disadvantage and thus lack any leverage, this was a breath of fresh air, and I highly recommend this place as a first choice for anyone seeking phone repair in Vancouver.
