Sushi is OK, food safety concern. Good service, the women at the counter were really sweet. However as I was watching the chef prepare my sushi he grabbed a tissue and blew his nose(while making eye contact with me!?), threw the tissue away, and neither washed his hands nor changed his gloves before preparing more sushi. It was pretty gross. I expect more.

Well, i ordered chicken bento for $ 9. I think it’s expensive and what’s more, the chicken wasn’t good. I didn’t like the taste at all. Awful. Yes, they cook food really fast and it is the only positive point in this place.

Located at Oakridge center, I always go here for take-out whenever I’m feeling lazy and craving for sushi. I usually order the sushi specials because they tend to have better deals. This time I chose the spicy tuna combo which includes: cucumber roll, spicy tuna roll and spicy tuna sashimi. It sure was good for 12 $ and the portion was just right for me. Their quality is normal but I wouldn’t call it authentic. Their service is quick for pick up and you can also eat-in with limited seating especially during rush hours. Accepts credit card. I believe the place is run by a Korean family?

I must say, I’m impressed. Honestly. For a quick grab n go or order up and go kinda food. To Go Sushi is decent. They also have brown rice option but it kinda sucked that today they supposedly ran out. Mostly when I hear that, I’m getting a negative feeling because I hear that 80% of the time when I try to order what they advertise if they say they have brown rice options. So instead of ordering 4 sushi rolls, I just ordered the one asparagus vegetarian roll with white rice(Japanese white rice is extremely bad for diabetics) I got my gal pal KT a California roll. For a Japanese girl, she likes this kind of sushi which you can’t really get in Japan. Nice thing about this place is that the sushi rice in the rolls is not too much. That’s important. It has to be a fine balance between rice and ingredients. Lots of vegetarian options and WHEN they have brown rice. It’s better. I think more people should eat Japanese brown rice. It tastes great! So again, if they had brown rice that day, the review would’ve been 4 stars! BTW the bottled tea in my pic is sugar free. Bottled in Taiwan, not Japan. Huh. Things you learn when you read labels.

Great sushi at a great price and super fast. Not really any room to eat so take out is best. They charge for sauces and their teriyaki sauce was very light colored and not sweet so I asked for eel sauce which they call its real name unagi sauce. They didnt give me any ginger but they did not charge me extra when i got some on the side. I love their different types of rolls especially their smoked salmon and futo maki which was different from the traditional style. Cant wait to eat more!

Went to Togo sushi after work today. It was already near closing but the staff was still nice enough to not show any impatience. Service is quick and efficient. Expected in a sushi joint at a mall. The food is mediocre. I got a California combo with teriyaki chicken roll. California roll is OK but I can BARELY see the avocado, let alone taste it. Sashimi is also ok, at least it doesn’t taste old and stale. The chicken teriyaki roll was a little disappointing. Chicken is flaky and not all that flavorful. the sauce on top also tastes kind of bland. But overall it wasn’t a disaster, and it did a good job of filling my sushi craving. Not that there’s much competitions near by though. I gave it 3 stars because of its price. The combo plus the extra roll was around 11 bucks. It’s not that bad and the portion is just right.

Most of the sushi was OKAY nothing super, below average. The deep fried prawn in my dynamite roll was very soggy and kind of gross. And the rice was pretty mushy, I did not enjoy that too much. But it was super cheap and it came out probably two minutes after I placed my order so for the price and speed of the service they deserve two stars.

That’s being generous, but if you work inside Oakridge and have a very itchy craving, then this is the only one without crossing the street to that nonauthentic one. Limited seating. Tried their calI rolls, nothing special other than their Bento box. Not something to recommend really, but a decent job of marketing, it is a clean simple look. Located at main entrance so just mall hours.

Togo Sushi is great for a quick sushi fix when situated inside Oakridge mall. Service is always speedy and efficient whether you’re dining in or ordering to-go. The quality of their sushi is usually up to par but their chopped scallop is a hit or miss. Actually, I come here often enough to be able to complain about their lack of consistency with their sushi rolls. Occasionally, my Oysi roll(avocado roll with salmon on top + sauce) would be on point with the perfect filling to rice ratio, most days there would be too much rice to filling ratio and sloppy sashimi, and some days(like today) there would be the perfect amount of rice but poor filling. I’m talking about unacceptably poor; I found only two thinly sliced avocado inside the roll and only one inside the end cuts but it’s too late to complain or say anything when I realize this after opening my take out box at home so here you go, Unilocal. All I’m saying is for $ 6.50, I expect a little more care into my one sushi roll.

Their brown rice sushi is gross. The rice was unseasoned and mushy, not to mention there was just way too much of it. I could barely taste the yam(since there was so little of it) so instead of feeling like I was eating sushi, I felt like I was just eating rice. When I tried to separate the first piece from the rest of the roll, the whole roll fell apart. What a waste of five dollars. I was lured into trying this place by the pictures of their sushi on the wall. Now i know better.

This place has a lot of mixed reviews but overall I have never had a bad experience. I find that the sushi isn’t superior to majority of places in Vancouver, but its worthy of coming back too time again. For cheap cost and quality(although not exceptional) sushi who can complain? The service has always been friendly and professional. Most importantly, staff/restaurant is always clean. I also love this place because service has always been fast and usually I am in a hurry to get home when I stop by. Regardless of how busy the place appears, the orders come up correctly and within a few minutes. Looking forward to my next visit :)

When Baby Koan is hungry, mommy is hungry for sushi. When mommy has a 1PM appt with the midwife and it’s 11:45, Togo Sushi at Oakridge is a good choice. We had cali roll combo and crunchy roll. Mommy ate the cooked stuff, I had some rolls and raw tuna and salmon. It’s pretty decent sushi and for about $ 13.00 for two-(and a half), cos Koan is still in mommy’s belly; it’s a good deal. We were lucky to be there 10 mins before noon so we got a seat. If we would have arrived 5 minute later, no seat and long line up. Come early if you want to beat the lunch crowd. Baby Koan is healthy and happy and ready to pop out any time in the next three weeks! g
