Dine out here was pretty good for a hotel restaurant. At first it took a while to get appetizers, but after that everything went smoothly. Had the BC smoked octopus and that was so amazingly delicious, the flavor of it was unbelievable. Smoked to perfection. For entre I had the charred flat iron steak. It came with more veggies then I expected compared to other places. And the sauce with it was a perfect match. I wanted to order another ! Love it. For dessert I had the chocolate masquie, it was alright not that impressive. It seems like something you can buy frozen at a grocery store. Overall it was a good food experience and will definitely be back to try there other dishes. The way they present there dishes is very well done and pretty.

Very impressed. I don’t usually try hotel restaurants, but it was cold and rainy and we just did not want to walk anywhere else. I ordered the Taste of Vancouver(something along those lines) three course menu. My warm vegetable salad was just delicious. The root vegetables were soft but not mushy with really great flavor. My husband ordered the roasted brussel sprout appetizer which I would highly recommend. My favorite course was the steak entrée. It was so well cooked! I really don’t have anything bad to say. Great service, great food. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Impressive décor and menu. Happy hour specials looked good, staff was friendly, chef checked on any allergies(nice touch) but service was lacking(must have been short staffed) We were reserved party and it was Friday night so I would have expected more. Do not order the Kalamari appetizer. It should not be on the menu. Did not make it to the dinner menu after that.

We dropped in for an unplanned light dinner after being informed of a 1 ½ hr wait a nearby restaurant. Our server, Andrew, was excellent — there when you needed him without being overbearing. The mushroom and fontina flatbread was excellent, as were the lettuce wraps(a bit spicy). Would definitely go back again.

My boyfriend and I took both of our mothers here for Mother’s Day dinner and were extremely disappointed with the service. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks from Andrew who was clearly uncomfortable and overwhelmed with serving tables, which made our dinning experience rather awkward. On 2 occasions Andrew had to leave the table half way through taking our orders to get a note pad. The brussel sprouts were delicious! Wish I could say the same for the rest of the meal. We ordered a prime rib — med rare which was way over cooked, the burger was mediocre– something you would get at A&W. Then upon finishing our meal Andrew brought over a flower for my boyfriends mom which was very sweet except for the fact he didn’t give one to my mother. Nobody wanted to make a fuss we just wanted to enjoy the night but after that I could tell how uncomfortable my mom felt so I excused myself to the ladies room and spoke to the hostess who was very helpful and kind. I told her about the events of our service and she informed me she would speak to management. I thanked her and went back to my table. Moments later Andrew came over with flowers for both me and my mom. He asked sincerely if there was anyway to make the service up to us but we were done for the night exhausted from the day’s events. We thanked him and asked for the bill. We were then greeted by the manager who’s name I did not catch because he spoke so quietly I could barely hear him. He informed my boyfriends mother her meal would be taken off the bill which was greatly appreciated. I may go back here but definitely on a slow day as to avoid a rushed server.

Came here on a rainy Friday night, wasn’t too busy. Server was attentive and answered questions with patience. I had the Shrimp and scallop spaghettini, which had a tomato sauce with basil and oven-dried tomatoes. The shrimp were really prawns and both that and the scallops were very fresh and cooked well. My friends had the fish tacos and the burger. The burger had a great grilled flavour and the tacos were not bad too. Shared the crème brûlée for dessert. It was executed very well. Overall, I would come again. Food was good, service even better.

Went there on a Groupon for a three course dinner. Shared appy of tuna tataki with arugula and pea shoots. My girl had the main of beef tenderloin with roasted fingerling potatoes and carrots. Was excellent. I had duck confit on pea and lardon risotto which was very cheesy. For dessert Apple tort in puff pastry. The pastry was the lightest I have ever tasted. The other dessert we chose was pear crime brûlée. The service was excellent. The ambiance was ok but a bit hotelly. Overall though a good experience

It’s rare that a hotel restaurant outshines the hotel itself. Terrific ambiance… great and friendly service and superior happy hour! Try : Mushroom flatbread. Simple perfection Egg rolls: literally the best I’ve ever had and generous serving. Poutine, because its a Canadian tradition. Airy, splendid welcome surprise.

I love this place and they have never disappointed me once. I tenderloin is the best, cooked just right and always juicy and tender. The service is great as well.

Once again, we were very impressed at the Showcase Restaurant & Bar. The service, the food, the desert was just perfect. Other than the mistake with my ice cream, everything else was cooked to perfection. Will definitely visit again

This restaurant is located inside the Pinnacle Vancouver Mariott where I stayed for four nights while attending a conference. While there I had two breakfasts, three lunches, and four dinners. Each time the service ranged from very good to excellent. The meals almost always arrived quickly, and hot and fresh. The one exception was lunch one day. I had to wait a few minutes for a table, and the meal arrived slower than usual, but they were very busy that particular day, and the delay was not unexpected. They had sablefish on the menu. I usually shy away from sablefish because I do not often find it cooked to my liking. On the recommendation of a colleague I ordered it and found it to be very good. Portion sizes for all the meals were adequate for me and I am not a light eater. I don’t often get to Vancouver, but would happily return and dine at the Show Case

The roasted free range chicken is fantastic! I love the bartender who is usually here in the evenings. His service is impeccable. I always stay here when I have business in Vancouver. I can always count on the restaurant at the Marriott to give me an amazing meal!

After a full day of meetings it was heaven to find a quality restaurant in the hotel we were staying at(Marriott Pinnacle Downtown) and therefore not needing to walk any distance on a cold rainy night after a long day. There were just a few people in the restaurant and lounge, not very busy, probably because it was a week night but a welcome surprise so as to visit with friends in a quiet atmosphere. They just renovated this area recently and it is very lovely. The menu has some nice selections with something for every taste, the portion sizes are big and the prices are very reasonable. They also have a nice wine list. Service was good, our server was attentive the entire meal. Although… we didn’t see our server even once after we cleared up the bill although we continued to sit and visit for some time. Maybe I wanted that second glass of wine?! Guess we’ll never know now!

A+servive, my family and I really enjoyed the dinner here on Christmas Eve. We tried the regular menu. Started with Korean fried chicken lettuce wrap, then steak friets and chicken curry. The meal are just OK to be honest. Nothing impressive, but the server was really attentive and we were pleasantly to leave a 20% tip. Merry Christmas!

I went twice to Showcase in the last 2 weeks for business lunch and I have to say I am impressed. Service is impeccable. Menu is great, but as a vegan, I have very little choice, however the vegan options are clearly marked on the menu. Very impressive. In fact, there is currently a vegan pad thai that is delicious and worth going back for. The only reason why they don’t get 5 stars really is that I only have 1 or 2 options on the menu so my choice is quite limited…

Fantastic food served by great people. I eat here very often as I live in the neighbourhood. Whether you’re sitting formally in the restaurant, casually in the lounge or keeping the bartender company it’s a great experience. You can tell the staff love where they work and are confident in the products they serve. Give it a try!

Visited — July 5th. I had been on a full day tour of downtown Vancouver on the Hop on Hop Off bus and was too tired to walk far to have dinner. Between resting and dinner, resting won. On way to my room(I was staying at Marriott), I came across Showcase. I thought of stopping to look at the menu before heading upstairs. And then, decided to eat there. I think the location is great, though does not have the view of the water. If you can walk 5 minutes towards Canada Place, then you have choice of several restaurants with water view. Servers were polite, but not pushy. Since I was dining alone, server offered to bring me a newspaper, which I found very thoughtful. It is peaceful and good for groups. There was band playing that night, but was not loud to irritate. I ordered: 1) Butter chicken flatbread — good 2) Cheesecake soufflé — one of the best desserts! The dessert list is small, but the soufflé is not to be missed. I wanted to order an entrée, instead of the appetizer, but they do not serve half servings of entrée. You should give this restaurant a chance for your next meal outside.

Pros: The service was great and the servers were all friendly and helpful. The food was well portioned for the price and delicious as well. They didn’t have fries on the menu but when I asked for some the servers brought some. Cons: I ordered the sirloin, medium rare, but it came medium well. When I asked the server about it they were helpful and sent it back. However she had to bring the same plate back because the chef said he cooked it properly and blamed the lighting for the poor color. It looked medium well and it tasted medium well. For the price I’d expected better. I also got really sick the evening after the meal(nausea/vomiting). It could be unrelated because no one else in my party got sick, but I was the only one who had steak so who knows.

I enjoyed dinner in the bar with a colleague while attending a conference in the hotel. Our server was fantastic. Even though he seemed to be the only one serving the seating in the bar area, he made us feel like a priority and was super helpful. We shared the smoked olives, which were SOGOOD. Yum! For my entrée, I had the kale and zucchini salad, which was really good. I was initially intimidated by the ingredient list, but the salad was totally approachable, and totally delicious. I also tried a bite of my colleague’s veal and pancetta bolognese, which was just incredible! If i were in the area, I’d certainly eat here again.

Went to showcase with a groupon just to try it out. Service was good and the food was great. The striploin and the sablefish were both excellent. Parking was around $ 6 in the underground hotel parking after 6pm which is the norm after 6pm in downtown Vancouver. Definitely would return even at regular price.
