I used to go here to eat since I liked the concept of packing as much food that could fit into the medium sized bowl they provide for a reasonable price, but the people running the restaurant have always been rude and ignorant. After my recent visit, I am completely through with this place. Not only have they increased the price of their takeout special by almost $ 2(without a complimentary spring roll, which was included before), but their attitudes have not changed at all. The black moustached man who is possibly the owner there and does the bbqing almost always looks like his head is in the clouds and I’ve noticed him dropping some of the food items from my bowl off the bbq drum while scraping it around. I personally do not trust this restaurant at all anymore and I am totally disgusted as of my last experience. If u don’t want your business appreciated at a restaurant that is over priced and you like being treated like dirt, then u should go to Mongolian BBQ

Numerous great meals at Robson Mongolian over the past 6 months! I follow the instructions and everything is great. The small bowls are for salad, the large ones are for stir fry. Is it so hard? And for those trying to rip off a mom and pop shop by stuffing 3 meals worth of meat into your bowl and smashing it down to fit, why be surprised when they get upset? The work that goes into ensuring this place has fresh ingredients and sauces must be crazy so why complain? English may not be perfect but even as an old-stock Canadian I have never had any issues at all. Friendly and hard working. Enjoy!

Stay away from this place! If you don’t know how to talk to a customer, you shouldn’t open a restaurant. I was very hungry and passing by this place, so decided to try it. I was adding noodles and broccoli in my bowl and it wasn’t even half-full, but the cook(I assume he is the owner) said«NOBROCCOLILIKETHIS, YOUCAN’T». I tried to understand the reason but he was so rude and he kept saying the same thing, and, I felt like a thief stealing food from a restaurant. If he explained me politely that there is a limit for it or extra charge, I would pay it because I was hungry! Anyways, I said bon appetite and left this place for good.

I’ve eaten here before and the food has been fine but my recent trip here left little to be desired in terms of service. My friend hadn’t been there before and asked if they had shrimp as a choice of their«meats» and two of the servers didn’t know what«shrimp» was. They kept looking at us like we were asking for something ungodly. They asked the«chef» and he finally said no. Same thing with the noodles, my friend asked whether one of the noodles would be crispy even if she puts sauce on it and if can she get that separate to make sure its crispy. Again with the«!!!» looks like«what is crispy??» This time no one knew what«crispy» was and kept saying«yes noodle… these are noodles!» OK got it!!! But the worst thing about customer service was when we asked for wooden chopsticks instead of the plastic ones they reuse… oh and the look was basically horrified! She kept repeating«that’s for to go» even after we said we will pay more or(for that reason only!) take it to go! Still«no that’s to go!!» Here’s a tip: its a chopstick!!! Maybe consider letting your paying customers get the type they want because, once again, its just chopsticks! How expensive could it be!!! And also, considering you are on Robson street with a lot of tourists and people who may only speak a little English maybe hire someone who knows at least the basic food related words!!! Never going back there. Simple as that.

When stumbling upon Robson Mongolian Bbq, I wasn’t expecting much but I was more than happily surprised. For 10 dollars(8 U.S. Dollars) you get a soup, salad and a bowl to stack to your hearts content with your choice of meat, vegetables, noodles and sauce… If that last sentence didn’t make you weak in the knees, then please don’t read on. The value of the meal you are getting is simply untouchable as the food was not only delicious but filling as well. All that joined me in this unexpected Wednesday night banquet left with smiles on their face and delight in their bellies. Some people say money can’t buy happiness… Those people have not tried Robson Mongolian bbq… For those that don’t think I was impressed by RMBBQ, I assure you that I will be trying to convince my brother to hold my nephews Briss in Vancouver, so we can celebrate at the BBQ afterwards.

After having dined at the old Mongolian BBQ on Davie St. for a number of years before it closed, I was happy to stumble across a new location on Robson St. Fully expecting this to be the same type of experience as the old Davie St. location(meat/veggie selection etc), I went here recently for a meal, however it did not meet old or new expectations. For the most part it is the same setup as old Davie St. location. However, where it differs is: — less selection of veggies compared to old location — no pineapple chunks, kimchi or sesame seeds to sprinkle on your cooked bowl — rice portion is ridiculously small — slower service compared to old location — using too much water on the grill diluted all the sauce flavors and you are left with a bland tasting bowl. The sauces are varied and seem to have the same selection, if not a little more, but other than that it was not as good value as the old location for a meal as the portion size was smaller overall. I was sure to put on lots of spicy sauces but after the chef slathered the grill in buckets of water, the bowl came out tasting extremely bland and forgettable(this was never the case at old location). The staff in general seemed disinterested in making dining at the restaurant a pleasant experience; if anything, they were only there to seat you at the table and give you your bill/take payment… no friendly smiles or chit chat, nothing of the sort. Also, the chef took his sweet time doing things in the kitchen while there was a queue of people waiting with their bowls to be cooked, while rest of restaurant staff made little to no attempt to get him to hurry up. As paying customers, we were all waiting around like patients in a doctor’s office, waiting for the chef to come out to fire up the grill and cook our bowls. It was very frustrating as he was going on his own schedule instead of treating paying customers as a priority, and people were getting impatient waiting for him to come out of the back and cook the food. My suggestion to management is, when there are people waiting to eat, pls have chef treat them as a priority. The all you can eat special may be worth it since you can eat as much as possible in 1.5 hours but as a standalone bowl for just over $ 9.00, I wasn’t impressed… especially as I know what the old Davie St. location offered and tasted like. I’ll have to try the other locations around town to see how they compare, but for now will not go back.

Despite the reviews I decided to try this place as it was near where I work. It’s my first time trying Mongolian so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The waiter was a young Asian guy who was really friendly and helpful. He explained to me how the restaurant works. If you don’t speak Cantonese I hope he is working as he is the only one who speaks English natively. The restaurant and washrooms were clean and tidy. Pros: Cheap Helpful waiter Acceptable service times Large variety of sauces Cons: Miss soup was not that great Rice was a bit dry

Ordered the all you can eat, was delicious, put noodles first then meats it fits more. You are not allowed take out for all you can eat which I agree on as then you could take to feed a whole family.

I liked it. Hey it’s a ton of food for $ 10. You can select what you want them to cook. I don’t like noodles, so I just did veggies and beef. Plus they have about 10 sauces to choose from. The wait staff was friendly to me. I just left a very satisfied customer.

Food tasted ok. The«chef» didn’t like the way I was putting the ingredients in my bowl so he had one of the waitresses tell me he didn’t like the way I was doing it. Normally I would have left but it was late and I was hungry and had only settled upon this place after much deliberation. I am NOT going back. They cut the meat in short frozen curls so it’s difficult to get much meat in your bowl unless you smash it. I did like that they had some recipes you could follow for certain types of flavor.

Don’t go there, it’s that simple. If you go, you have a great chance of eating leftover food from other customers” unfinished dish. I know this for a fact and I’m collecting evidence to sue their asses.

Well, I didn’t like the service. I’m muslim, so I’m not allowed to eat pork and the lady mixed my order with someone else’s order with pork. The second thing is that I waited for my order for 30 minutes. And at last, they don’t give rice, as in other places. Will never be back.

I am from out of town and was looking for a place that was low key and inexpensive. My group and I decided to go here after a long day of walking. We immediately regretted this decision. The servers watched us like hawks, thinking that we would steal extra food even though we all ordered our own bowls. When we went to pay, one person in our group was charged extra because«she filled her bowl up to much and did not finish her food». She was also not allowed to get a to go box so the food was completely wasted. Overall, I would never recommend this place to anyone and it really put a damper on our already long day.

An hour after eating here I got violently ill. The worst case of food poisoning ever. I threw up for hours and 24 hours later I still feel terrible. The chicken(frozen) was not cooked properly — really, be very careful before eating here.

Pretty good food for $ 15 per person. They have all you can eat, worth it, and they serve alcohol. The seating in the front is causal. The eating in the back is a bit less tidy. They keep their recycling and dirty dishes along the wall so it is a bit of an eye sore!

I am a big fan of Mongolian BBQ. I usually go to the one on Davie St. but a friend suggested this one. It is practically the same in terms of price and taste. I think the setup of this one though is quite more awkward than the other. Now aside from the comparisions. For those who are not familiar with what Mongolian BBQ is, basically it’s like a buffet where you chose your meats, veggies, noodles, sauces and bring it over to a guy who cooks it for you. At this location you get a number and you can take a seat and they bring it over for you when it’s done. For some reason I found this really awkward and kind of prefer waiting for my food like the other one(oops sorry, comparing again.) ANWAAAAAAAAAYS, you get totally stuffed! And the food is so good, it’s like making your own food because you choose what you want, then someone else cooks it for you :) yummy!

For an alternative in regards to cultured cuisine to eat on this block, and stretch of restaurants this place is a welcome difference of change, from the many restaurants that have failed here prior to, I wonder if this place will survive, only time will tell. I am not a big eater, I just like to know what is available in terms of food, and when I saw this place and the prices I had to walk in to see what the deal was. The listed specials are not bad, I couldn’t do the AYCE, but just the regular fill your bowl with what you want before they stir fry it all up in the front was different for me. A way better bargain than«THE» Mongolie Grill, cause they do not weigh the food here, I tried to put as much as I could in the bowl, and I could say my mouth was talking over my stomach, and I was struggling to finish cause there was a bit too much food for me. A good selection of meats, vegetables and sauces, it is how you make it, so if you add too much sauce, and it becomes too savoury for your taste, it really is your fault, not them. The place has basic seating, do not waste your money on the salad bar, I found it not fresh, and the soup they give you, do not bother either, just go for the main, and that should get you by.

Wandering up and down Robson with my boyfriend, we were struggling with choosing a place for lunch. Thai? Sushi? Korean? Living in Seattle AKA city of thai/teriyaki overload, I was a bit disappointed at the rows upon rows of asian eateries — that is until I spotted this little joint. Mongolian BBQ is something Washington has yet to nail — Robson Mongolian BBQ does it quite nicely though! Although the selections for ingredients is a bit limited, the restaurant itself is very clean(sometimes rare for this medium of cuisine), and the staff was prompt and friendly. What I liked most however, were the unusual sauces this place offered — curry oil? don’t mind if I do! PROS: — Ridiculously cheap lunch special, and if you’re good at making mongolian BBQ(noodles last people!), you can really pack in a huge bowl. — Fresh ingredients — Unique sauces — CLEAN CONS: — salad bar not worth visiting — soup is bland — white rice only, no brown or fried rice options :( All in all, if you’re looking for a cheap, tasty lunch, definitely give this place a shot.
