Bad service, had to get my own tea refill after waiting a long time. Ordered tempura and while that was okay the dipping sauce was wrong and the pieces were deceiving, paper thin slices of sweet potato, more batter than sweet potato! They looked big but then as thin as a chip! The rolls were okay, the fish on Some of them did not seem fresh. I left hungry because I didn’t want to order more partially because it wasn’t that good and because I’d probably have to wait a super long time.

Stay away from this place — they have failed multiple inspections(3 in the last year), most recently a few months ago!

Sometimes I ask myself why I put myself in these bad situations. Dining at terrible establishments I mean. Long story short, Ebisu closes for lunch on Sundays(we didn’t know!!!) and we were in a hurry… so, this is where we decided to go to. Stupid. Ordered a nabeyaki udon for myself and the Mr. a lunchbox. Where do I even begin? Nabeyaki udon, completely overcooked udon that literally soaked up every ounce of oil from the tempura and what I assume close to expiring meat as it was cooked the shit out of them. The whole bowl of udon tasted disgusting and despite being super hungry… I took 3 – 4 bites and decided this meal would be a complete write off. Might I add, it didn’t even come close to what a real bowl of nabeyaki udon should look and taste like. Mr’s lunch box was no different. Frozen sashimi that tasted fishy, his tempura was SO dark from old oil he didn’t even eat it, and the worst part… the«bowl of rice» that it came with looked like it was seriously half eaten and the resto probably decided to not let it go to waste. Freaking disgusting!!! Only saving grace was the few pieces of chicken teriyaki that was probably saved from the masked flavours of sauce. Service was nonexistent, food is bad, don’t come here!

One of our main«go-to’s» downtown sushi spots when me and my girlfriend aren’t down to spend a lot of money. Good service, typical sushi prices and good quality.

I was a regular at the other Momo Sushi in Gastown for the longest time, so when we moved offices, I was glad to discover that Momo had another location that was just a couple blocks away from my new office. The menu offerings at this location are quite different from the Gastown location. There are only 2 bento box choices here, so on several separate occasions, I tried the same Sashimi Box B, for take-out as well as during dine-in. (As a side note I suggest dining in if you can, because some stuff in the bento box might get soggy when you do a take-out.) The bento box comes with a small miso soup & a small side salad. The contents of the box were reasonably tasty, but not particularly stellar. The quality isn’t that great, but you get what you pay for. My fave items are the grilled salmon(I keep forgetting to ask for the sauce to not be poured over top; it is pretty salty) and the tempura(crispy & well-cooked). The sashimi has always been either decently ok, or a giant miss. Today’s cuts were rough big chunks, and the tuna one actually tasted sour. I hope I don’t get sick from eating a piece(the other piece, I promptly discarded to the side of my box). For a $ 10 lunch downtown, the bento boxes here offer a solid variety of mostly decent tasting food. What they lack in quality, they make up for in pricing.

Great service– free tea, miso soup and salad. Rolls are nothing special. Edemame was very tasty.

Great service! Great food! There were 4 of us and we ordered the Party B and it came with soup and salad for each person. Every single piece of that sushi was delicious! And a great deal too in terms of price for 4 people!

I was really surprised by the low star reviews. The service here was quick, prices were cheap, quality good and the pieces were huge. It reminds me of samurai sushi on Davie. Will certainly go back

This place deserves its one star wholeheartedly. I didn’t even finish the sushi I ordered here — it was poorly presented and tasteless. The BC roll tasted(& looked) like it had been made with canned salmon. They don’t have a liquor license either — I’m guessing they lost it because there are sake bottles displayed in the back. So much good sushi in Vancouver. Avoid this place.

The price pretty much explains itself… average grade sushi. Frozen… but the staff were very friendly and the beer was cheap

I tried several special rolls in Momo sushi, all were very well done and tasty, fish used for sashimi always fresh. My favourite are definitely Sexy Salmon and Mountain rolls. The service is very good, I was amazed how quick and efficient 2 ladies are serving full restaurant plus take out customers. I read most of the reviews, but I’ve really had only positive experience, really nothing to complain about. Definitely value for money.

Great food and good location. I had the house combo and a dynamite roll. The portions are bigger than usual in a sushi restaurant.

We went there today. There were few two seater tables and two four seater tables. We have 5 people in our group. The waitress told us to spilt into two table because she refused to move the two seater table combine with four seater table. Her reason was«not good looking». We were so frustrated. So this restaurant only welcome group with 2 or 4 people? I have never heard this kind of service before in any restaurant. What the disappointment!!!

I’ve tried lots of sushi from coast to coast and the sushi I had I had at Momo last night was amazing! I highly recommend the Rainbow Roll and Dynamite roll plus, the Shrimp Tempura and Gyoza… mmmmmmmmm! I did takeout and the service was great and received my order in 20min… Good to Go! If you live in Van or a revisiting and wan great Sushi, give MoMo a try… wicked awesome!

Quite possibly the BESTVALUE and best sushi you can have in downtown for what you pay for. This place is down to earth with very attentive staff. The food is large portioned, delicious AND you get a free Japanese mini salad and miso with whatever you order! My favourite is the chopped scallop roll because you get scallops INSIDE the roll but here’s the kicker — you also get scallops ONTOP of the roll!!! It’s amazing! Their toro nigiri is so soft and fatty. I’ve only had one of their special rolls but I wasn’t impressed because they seemed too«North American», if you know what I mean. All in all, we come here every two weeks to get our sushi fix. Very delicious and great service because they always refill your tea and serve you with a gentle smile. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

Great sushi! Fresh and properly executed. Service was good and friendly. After reading previous reviews I was hesitant, but decided to give it a go anyways. I need a decent sushi bar close to my home on Jervis. Two things they could improve on to make me very happy: 1. More and cheaper beer selection. I can get a pitcher of Sapporo across the street for $ 11. Here I’m paying $ 6 for a small Asahi. 2. Music was pretty awful. I know that I’m in Canada now, and I should have the«when in Rome…» mentality. But there’s no excuse for playing Justin Beiber’s Baby at full volume throughout the entire restaurant.

More a 3.5. Not sure why the really bad reviews, but I really like this place. It’s probably the best overall value in this 2 – 3 block radius for sushi. Never had any issues with the food, only the really slow service, but they’re nice enough. I’ve been here several times both dine in and take out and it’s been consistently good. Not great, but good enough!

I had a craving for sushi while at work on a Friday afternoon. i planned to hit up a sushi place a bit further down Robson but MoMo caught my eye because a coworker told me about the place. they were hopping at 1:30PM so I thought«let’s give it a shot.» plus, I was starving and didn’t feel much like walking further. in hindsight I wish I had continued walking, or at least checked out reviews. — miso soup — green salad [complimentary] — sushi combo — spicy tuna roll — ebi sunomono the miso soup was ok, taste-wise, but it was lukewarm at best. the tea didn’t taste much like tea at all. just kind of blah. complimentary green salad was fine. ebi sunomono was crazy bad. the noodles were very firm, borderline hard. the broth was flavourless. I ordered the sushi combo: California roll with 2 pcs salmon nigiri and 2 pcs tuna nigiri. I also added a spicy tuna roll since I was especially hungry. overall the rolls were sloppy and unappetizing. the California roll was ok, nothing great or bad. I felt okay eating it the most since there was nothing raw. the spicy tuna was gross looking and didn’t have a great taste either. I took one bite of salmon nigiri [which was warmer than I think raw fish should be, leading me to question the handling methods] and that was it for the raw portion of my meal. it tasted fishy — not a good sign. service was below average. it took about 10⁄15 minutes to get my food packed up. why packed up? I couldn’t bear to throw the food across the room and skip the bill, as I would have liked to. people were constantly coming and going, for dine in and take out, so my mind is very confused to say the least. the booming top 40/R&B tunes don’t help matters. personally, won’t be back. I know several other sushi restaurants doing it right, or at least much, much better than MoMo. oh, and now my mouth tastes gross. ugh.

I am so happy I have a fantastic sushi takeout place within 2 blocks! Recently opened on Robson and Bute, it is a part of successful Momo sushi chains run by Koreans. The atmosphere is clean and warm. The menu is not super extensive but all the basics that you need are on the menu plus ~10 specialty rolls. Price is quite reasonable especially the rolls and ingredients are fresh. The rolls are filled up with own stuffings to the rim and unlike some sushi places that stuffs alot of rice, I feel like I get more values here. Service is quick and courteous. Eat in or take out available and opens at 11am every day!
