I came here with a few friends on a weeknight. The server was nice and smiled a lot. We were given cups of water and a jug of water as well to refill our own cups. While we were eating, water started dripping onto my head. I ordered a spicy tuna cone and it was literally tuna coated in sriracha sauce. Would not recommend any of the spicy rolls or cones. Still great service though.

My family goes here all the time but soon not anymore. Several times I order delivery but my food always shows up hours later. My latest experience, I ordered two specialty rolls that wasn’t even included in my order. I called them to inform them and ask what sort of service could be done but the lady on the phone kept insisting that I did not order them(and I can assure that I did as I got them to repeat my order) and she packed all my food so she knows what was in my order. Even prior to that when I was ordering, they hung up without giving me the total of my order and I had to call them back. Dont get me wrong; their specialty rolls are good and some items are great but I am extremely unhappy with their service. Also, just a note: don’t bother tipping. The tip money does not go to the servers.

Delivery service attitude no good. The driver charge me for more than the bill and the restaurant doesn’t deal with it. I would review for no star rather than one star if they give me the option

I just ordered a bubble tea with pearls and jelly. The tapioca pearls were super mushy. I had to strain out all the disgusting pearls. It’s no wonder why the pearls were floating near the top instead of sinking to the bottle. Plus, it was super sweet. If you are craving bubble tea like I did, do not make the same mistake and order it here. Not recommended.

I really like their udon soups. Good portion for myself and the broth taste good. Not too plain or salty. I don’t eat sushi /seafood so I can’t comment on that. But they have chicken karagge and it’s not that great. It’s kind of dry. The ribs taste like it’s been microwaved.

There is a new one on Grandville and 70th it’s not busy… it’s not great. I tried the nabiake Odon. …it was horifically bad. The noodles were almost raw the put a fried egg insted of a potched one and no taste. I asked if the cook was new to Japanese cooking… the waiter just grined and said oh the cook left someone els is doing the cooking… But they still charged me full price even tho it was uneaten. …will never go back will warn others not to bother.

I order takeout from here all the time. I decided not to do takeout this time and have lunch in the restaurant. Big mistake! Service was horrible, and the server was half a sleep. It didn’t take long to order-get our dishes, however trying to get her attention for the bill was impossible. I ended up bring my left over California roll to the front counter to be packed to go. I wasn’t impressed with her attitude when I did so either. No apology for not seeing me wave her down. Need less to say I didn’t leave a tip. I might still do takeout, the food isn’t bad, but I don’t recommend eating at the restaurant.

Went here for the first time yesterday for dinner after shopping at the Value Village a hop, skip and a jump away. It is located next to Vancouver’s strangest little liquor store but that’s for another review. We ordered the chicken teriyaki don(perfect), the speciality OMG roll(I’ll get to it), the prawn tempura and agadeshi tofu(average but nicely crispy and served piping hot), and the salmon and avocado rolls. I actually liked the standard rolls better than the speciality roll. The OMG roll was stuffed so full of filling that it fell apart when you lifted it up with chopsticks. Sushi rolls that are too big is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. But it tasted alright. I really loved the avocado roll the best — the avocado was so creamy and fresh, it tasted amazing with the white rice. So I would suggest just sticking to the cheaper rolls and saving your pennies. But they highlight the speciality rolls with full-colour photos in an effort to sell them so it may be tempting to try another one sometime. Friendly service. And they’re licensed. For the above plus two beers and a 15 percent tip, the total was about 50 bucks.

We ordered at 5:20,… Told the food would arrive at 6:40,… 6:45 no food,…I called the restaurant and was told the driver just left. It is a 6 min drive. 6:55 no food, was told the driver was just around the corner. 7:10 food arrives cold. The manager Alan apparently comes and goes with an unknown schedule to a number of restaurants. No one knew when he would be in again. The food was mediocre,… Not impressed. Luckily we have many, many other great places to get sushi from. Never again! not here! Couple days later manager called, offered some money off our meal or a deal for next time There won’t be a next time Good follow up though

I used to come all the time since its close to my house but the prices have gone up significantly. OMG roll is not bad, many special rolls to choose from and this was my go-to for deep fried california roll but there are many other better tasting and cheaper options.

I went to Nishiki for a quick lunch. I just wanted some dynamite rolls gomae and tea. Simple… nothing fancy. My order was to go. When I got home, I opened my lunch and the dynamite rolls had yam tempura and shrimp tempura and a little cucumber in them. I have never had a dynamite roll made this way. If you are going to deviate from the standard definition of a popular roll, you should at least put it in the menu. Unfortunately, I have no idea whether this place is decent as I haven’t explored the full menu, but some things you just don’t expect a restaurant to mess up.

Seeing as this location used to be called QQ Sushi, I can’t help but wonder if their downward spiral in food quality is a result of changing owners. They won’t be going anywhere soon though, the nearby high school will keep their business afloat by providing a constant stream of gelato and bubble tea customers; which I admit they do rather well. The times I ordered a drink I noticed that their equipment was modern and updated while their taro flavour was always on point. This restaurant really tries to sell themselves on their more expensive speciality rolls, but they certainly aren’t top notch in the city. If you want fancier sushi, go to somewhere more upscale(ie. Minami, Tojo’s, etc). Otherwise, I find this place fine as an Izakaya-kind of restaurant, they serve great noodles(Nabeyaki Udon is my personal favourite). It might be worth noting that their food quality or technique can be a little inconsistent. Sometimes my Takoyaki(which had too much batter and wasn’t made properly) order comes in a 7 when they’re supposed to come in a 6 or 8, or sometimes the avocado in my California Roll is too hard and raw. The last couple times I’ve ordered my Nabeyaki Udon, the egg has flip-flopped between being fully cooked and sunny-side-up. While this is just a small pet peeve of mine, you might want to specify special instructions while ordering if you’re picky. TL;DR– I only order takeout/delivery here when I’m lazy and need a night in. They are good for a mum-and-pup restaurant, but their food quality can be inconsistent.

I usually go for tuna and salmon donburi in sushi restaurants. Got what I expected, although the tuna was partly frozen, which means I won’t be going back soon. Miso soup was good and wasabi was strong(I like it very spicy). The attendants never offered the bill, although the place didn’t seem too busy.

The sushi here is average at best. Came here once but got poisoned and haven’t been back since. Location is close to my house but way too hot inside. Probably why I didn’t feel good after eating my sushi. Probably will not be back. Too bad.

Good food, fast service. My fav is the chicken teriyaki and tempura combo. The lady or owner is extremely rude when I ordered. I tried using the coupon that was mailed out but she wouldn’t accept it because I was .5 cent short of the $ 20 order.

Never again. Ordered delivery, dude on the phone was so rude. Asked him to tell me what was in the vegetarian roll and he said VEGGIES. DUHHHH. Ordered it and it was pickles and lettuce. Yuck. All the rolls were falling apart and there was too much rice. Also the seafood was less than fresh. They forgot our miso soup and when we called back said they weren’t going to come back and deliver it but that they’d put the credit on our account. Great… Can’t wait to get TWODOLLARS off my next order. Bad times. Will never order from here again.

I came in yesterday 7÷29÷2014 and asked the lady if I can order the«noodle combo» and she gave me a USED order sheet and Im like«umm…» Then rudely she was like«we don’t have any new ones printed yet… just use this one for now», and when I wanted to order chicken wings instead of the spring rolls or the tempura as a snack she was like«we don’t have it at the moment» in her continual rude tone. i wanted to tell her«Look! If you don’t like your job! Don’t take it out on your customers»… Don’t know if I wanna come here again =___=”

Used to order food quite often from here since I lived in this area. The prices aren’t too high, and the sushi is good. They recently expanded their restaurant so there’s more seats available now. I think their previous sushi chef was amazing — the new one is still decent but I miss the warm, tasty rice and how it was made before. Service is alright. Some of my favourites are the Alaska roll and the chopped scallop. Don’t order the bubble tea, and I had a mediocre experience with the noodles — get the sushi instead.

I love the Lotus Roll — it’s like a combination of California roll and chopped scallop roll wrapped by cucumber slices, with Tobiko on top. Their ramen, noodles and udon are great as well. Very nice sushi. Would definitely come here again. They offer discounts for Pre-order take-outs.

This is a place my boyfriend took me to for my birthday lunch. I was a skeptic because I like to think I am a sushi connoisseur(… along with everyone else in this city.) I was pleasantly surprised. Their Specialty Rolls are typically priced and really delicious. I always get a spicy tuna cone and I must say, the offer one of the best I’ve had. That’s saying something. The bubble tea is awful. Don’t get it because you’ll be wasting your money. «Slush» is incredibly watery and the straws are jussssssst a tad too small and the pearls get stuck in them! Also, I probably wouldn’t waste my money on the over priced Cream Puff dessert. They’re store bought(in their fridge behind the cash register). Most likely from Costco!
