Nosh and Nibble came here for an early dinner and we had the following: Salmon Poke($ 8) Oyster Motoyaki Roll($ 7) Emperor Caesar Roll($ 7.50) GFC Waffle Sandwich($ 14) Charshu Pork Taco($ 12) Matcha Cheesecake($ 8) Black Sesame Crème Brulee($ 6) The Salmon Poke came with cucumber, avocado, cilantro, lime, and korean sauce. It tasted quite fresh. If you can imagine sashimi lathered with lots of sauce and vegetables, that’s kind of what poke is. Thumbs up on this fresh tasting fish. The Oyster Motoyaki Roll came with panko fried oysters, lettuce, lemon, torched mayo, and bulldog bbq sauce. This was a great roll because it was full of flavour, had a gooey taste with the torched mayo, and because oysters taste great fried and wrapped up. Needless to say, this roll was my favourite out of our 5 non-desserts. The Emperor Caesar Roll came with garlic fried chicken, romaine lettuce, avocado, grana padano cheese, roast garlic aioli, jalapeño soy. This one didn’t wow me as much in taste but the presentation was very good. This was akin to having a chicken caesar salad converted into sushi, so in that fusion regard, it tasted as expected. The GFC Waffle Sandwich to me was how their signature garlic fried chicken should be served. In addition to the chicken, this had lettuce, teriyaki sauce, and mayo. The waffle was easy to hold and I liked that the sauces didn’t drip everywhere as I dug in. Pictured below we had our Waffle Sandwich served in halves. I found some of the fries to be a little undercooked. These were a bit hard so you might be cautious depending on how you tolerate potato. The Charshu Pork Tacos were a trio of corn tortillas, charbroiled tomato salsa, and asian slaw adorned with juicy pieces of pork. There was just enough room to grab these by the side and gulp them down in a couple of bites. Moving onto dessert, you know I’m always eager to fill in the gaps in my stomach. We started with a Matcha Cheesecake which to my surprise was quite light and less dense than regular cheesecakes. Turns out the staff behind this have a background in pastry making and so this was a big thumbs up for me; I could definitely finish one myself and not fall into an instant food coma after despite its size. Another great thing was the strawberry coulis which was great for mixing the crust in. The other dessert we had was the Black Sesame Crème Brulee. This had a dollop of whipped cream with more black sesame and I found the best way to eat this was to jam in a spoon and grab a little bit of everything as the crème didn’t have that much black sesame infused but there was a lot to go around on the whipped cream.

This place serves up super delicious food! Went there around 12:30 for lunch on a Friday afternoon-very quiet. The waitress was quick, attentive and friendly. I ordered the Baja sandwhiches(the only vegetarian item on the menu) and asked for half fried avocado and half fresh avocado, which was no problem for them, and with the salad. My boyfriend ordered the Korean fried chicken sandwich, with their soup of the day which was tomato soup. Absolutely delicious. A little heavy on the mayo, but the flavors were so good, and my boyfriend agreed that their chicken was also super moist! The tomato soup was extremely thick, and tasted like lasagna(which was fine by me). Waffles were crisp and fluffy. The sandwhiches themselves look small, but they are pretty heavy and filling. It’s a cute and trendy looking place — great for catching up with friends or a casual date! Beware: things can get messy.

Completely changed their menu recently and is now a sit-down restaurant, and has no more sweet/dessert waffles but more Japanese items such as sushi rolls and udon. The sushi roll we had was poorly wrapped and easily fell apart(had to use our hands since you can’t really eat sushi with our supplied fork & knife). The avocado waffle was decent but the waffle was room temperature(pre-made?) and the waffle was too thick, which dominated the taste. Price is quite high for most items. Another odd thing was they automatically add a 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or more. This is ridiculous. Typically for restaurants it is 8 or more. Likely will not return.

*Woohoo 200th review!* Came here for the first time and loved it! The waffles were well made: soft and fluffy and perfectly holds the filling. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the flavors were an interesting mix that complimented each other. Surprisingly, despite eating a big chicken and waffle sandwich it doesn’t feel super heavy afterwards. Service was very good, our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The store was very nice. Clean, bright and welcoming. My only complaint would be the air ventilation needing work as the air smelled very oily. This place is amazing and is a must try!

Fried chicken + Waffles = Delicious! Crispy, seasoned chicken drenched in sauce and served between perfectly prepared waffles. What an amazing concept! I tried the Dragon Lady, meaning fried chicken with 7 spices. My wife tried the GFC, or Garlic Fried chicken. Their chicken is prepared Japanese Karaage-style and easily rivals any other Japanese restaurant in terms of quality; both had very crispy batter, and their own distinct flavors. And, their waffles were equally amazing, as good as IHOP or White Spot. This place has found its niche and should stick with it. At first, I didn’t think there was enough food, but I was deceived. I had trouble finishing my «burger». Expect to pay between $ 12 – 15 per person for one of their sandwiches and your choice of soup/salad/fries. Drinks are extra. This place is probably more of a novelty. But, everyone should come and try it at least once.

we first discovered Miura a few years back, and enjoyed both the savory and sweet waffles. Especially enjoyed the very very casual atmosphere. Then a few months back we decided to go there again because we were craving their waffles. I am sorry to say, I am disappointed with the whole change into an actual«restaurant.» The waffle menu got cut a lot, what was left was just chicken and waffles, no desert dishes, no special ones like bulgogi… etc. The price went up, the food stayed mostly the same, but the choices are so limited now. Please go back to what you were…

This is such a great little place! This is more of a casual place so you order and pay for your food at the front and you find your own table to sit at. I’ve been a few times and each time Miura does not disappoint. I’ve been here with guys and gals and we are all always stuffed! The waffle sandwiches are big with a generous portion of meat inside. For the vegetarians, there are 2 – 3 veggie waffle sandwiches as well. I didn’t enjoy their bubble tea as I don’t think their pearls are very tasty but the sandwiches do it for me! My favourite is either the GFC or the Dragon Lady. The chicken is nice and crispy and the sauce makes for a well seasoned waffle sandwich.

Finally got to go to the new location. I missed eating their waffle when I went back to LA last year. So I was really looking forward to it when we came back to Van. But then, they no longer have waffles that have stuff inside. No bulgogi etc. The uniqueness is all gone ToT They now serve alcohol. They have appetizers and all that though. I got Korean chicken with fries. Fries were not fries. They were potato chips. :( $ 13 for these sounds kinda high. The food was still good as is. But I was disappointed…

Service was okay. Hot water is 50 cents which is not indicated on the menu. The waffle is very dry and thick. Although the portion looks big but it’s not very filling. I would rather spend the $ 13 at ihop waffles and get a Big Mac to make my own. Personally wouldn’t recommend or go back.

Visited this place twice on our trip to Vancouver. Husband was looking on Unilocal to see what was around and he wanted waffles. I love his sweet tooth. Miura is clean with simple décor. We each had a waffle and it was awesome. I had the one with bananas and my husband had the one with cheesecake. The waffles were soft and warm and super light. The next time we came, he had one with bacon, and I had a wanut, which was mini donut batter in the waffle iron. It was sooooooo so so good. If it were up to my husband, we would have went there every day. And I’m not complaining!!!

Nosh and Nibble came here for an evening dinner and I had a great taste of the following: Cheesecake(~$ 9) Hoisin(~$ 9) The Cheesecake waffle came with cheesecake mousse and vanilla ice cream. This looked like a glorified ice cream sandwich but the waffles were cushy and thick on the breading. I didn’t enjoy this waffle too much because I was slow at eating and the melting cream started dripping out the end of the waffle. The best way to eat this one is probably to split with a friend so that you can consume the waffle quickly. A waffle from Nero might be better if you’re looking for something sweet. The Hoisin waffle was my favourite out of the two waffles we had. This was a Vietnamese-inspired recipe that included cilantro, cucumber, pickled radish, pickled carrot amidst some hoisin-soaked pork sausages. The sausages were sweet and savoury and I loved the taste mixing in with the sour radishes and carrots. If you’re a fan of any Vietnamese subs(banh mi) of the sort, you will likely enjoy this Hoisin Waffle. The waffles were both very fluffy and since there were ridges everywhere they were very easy to hold.

Aligato! I picked the Garlic Fried Chicken. The waffles was soooo yummy… But the chicken was like not… 100% white meat so one less star cuz that… But I could definitely taste the garrrrlic! And the waffles are HUGE! So I was definitely full after da sandwich… No more room for a ”bubble the shake” tough… My sweet tooth are calling… So I must… GOBACKSOON! For trying their sweet waffles version! WHAMMY! Sparkle clean place! And friendly customer services!

Definitely more of a novelty meal than a good one. We got two waffle sandwiches and they were okay. Mine had a half cooked waffle on one side and the meat to other fillings ratio was pretty off.

Visited here a few weeks back and tried out one of their Bubble Specials(basically a milkshake). I was very impressed with the taste and texture so decided to come back again when I was hungry. Yesterday, decided to stop in and dry one of their Waffles. I had the Dragon Lady which is a basically a spicy teriyaki chicken waffle. I loved the flavor and the pre-consumption appeal is way up there. I was very impressed with the cleanliness as everything inside looks fresh and bright. The two staff members were polite and kept themselves busy during what appeared to be a slower time of the day. Would recommend and will be returning.

Currently writing this while I enjoy the food afterglow. Yummy Filling Savoury(they also sell sweet) They sell bubble cock drinks too Coffee Bbt Great joint. Check it out. Quick order and sit style Café. The food network even dipped in here for a visit! You know then, that it’s good! I tried two different types of waffles. The GFC-garlic fried lettuce teriyaki sauce and mayo! Garlic fried chicken and the Bulgogi(a kimchi egg salad infused marinated BBQ beef waffle). Mm ! *lick lips emoticon*

Not a bad place to eat and hang out. Mostly for a younger crowd in my opinion but it was worth experiencing this place.

I know I’m late to the party but yours truly FINALLY got to eat at Miura. It wasn’t super busy on a week night… which was perfect for me! This review is for the Bulgogi sando. There was way too much kimchi and too little bulgogi in the sandwich. The kimchi taste was overpowering and it just felt like they were skimping out on the beef. Didn’t order anything else because the waffle itself is very filling. This experience was a tad disappointing since I had high hopes for this place and had been wanting to visit even before they moved to Main St. It was also more of a novelty of sorts because all my friends have been(and rave about the place) AND it was featured on ‘You Gotta Eat Here’ some time ago. I don’t know if I’ll be back again but there is so much more to the menu.(Brownie points for the creativity!) That, and the employees are soooo friendly and eager to please. Maybe I’ll try their dessert waffles next time.

Omg. Best Asian style chicken & waffles. #5 all the way! Garlic chicken This place is more like an order, quick bite and go kind of place. 30 mins tops. Not really a place to hang out and chill with friends

Came here more to have a novelty meal than anything since a friend wanted to dine in. The restaurant is very dimly lit, floor was kind of sticky, and it felt like lots of stuff should have been labeled(super ambiguous). Food… it was… well, it was food. Fell apart very easily, flavours were there but didn’t harmonize well, waffle was a bit undercooked… was disappointed by the experience since it was hyped up so much in the past months. Also felt that the price was pretty high all things considered. Oh well. I’ll probably still come if someone was keen on it, but I’d prefer many of the alternatives nearby.

The waffles here are delicious. Not a lot of choices. Basically you order and pay at the counter and then they bring it to you. The place is not as busy as when it used to be at its old location. But parking is a pain. There are no free parking there. Everything is metered. As well not much service. I also don’t think it has a great vibe for students coming in to study as well. As a hint come down on May 11 from noon to 7 pm for their free bubble tea

The waffles are light, expectation was that it would have fresh fruit for the breakfast waffle«fruit and whip». Still my Japanese experts on waffles liked them. The smell in the air is that of sweet baked waffles and the place is clean. Price is right and better than most other places for half the price! I have to try their lunch or dinner menu. Hoping they have a savoury vegetarian version.

We came here on a late Friday night and were the only ones there. We were exploring this area during the day and loved it and had to come back! Here’s what we had: #1 — BULGOGIKOREANBBQ — $ 8.99 beef, egg sauce, kimchi & bulgogi sauce. This was full of sauce! Loved it! It was both sweet and savory with enough meat! The waffle is fresh, warm and crispy! #5 — GFC(Garlic Fried Chicken) — $ 7.99 garlic fried chicken, lettuce, teriyaki sauce & mayo. I love mayo and and love fried chicken! The chicken was fine… done expect it to taste like yo mamas fried chicken but it was good enough! Prolly because it was drenched in that wonderful combo of teriyaki sauce and mayo! WOW that tasted it good! There was lots of it! I’m so glad we came here… everything was good and filling! The staff was over the top nice. I wish I can come back to try other waffles and possibly an adult milkshake ;)

Pre-eats needed, a suggestion by our CM prior to her send off party to eat before you come… and meeting my buddy Mark H… he was already around the neighbourhood and suggested this place. I have never been here, but I know my friend’s affinity for waffles so this was a natural choice. It was odd actually to see all the previous reviews from the Davie street location moved over here as well… as I always believe that when you are in a new location.(unless it’s directly next door) I believe that the reviews should start fresh on the Unilocal counter… well what’s done is done. and now we are here on Main Street. This place has new all over it… from the digital screens above the checkout counter showing their extensive menu… I was definitely in for some savoury choice on this night before my next stop and looking at a good selection of some sort of meat put between some house made waffles did sound pretty appealing… I decided on the chicken karaage… fried chicken between waffles. should be as good as just a bird on top. right? So after I paid up at the front. the wait was on… it’s a no cutlery place. as some sign that was up front said that… another thing you need to know is that they have a liquor license… so you can get beer here(which Mark ended up getting)… I ended up just choosing water. and it’s self serve on the side. There are quite a few tables in this place, and when we were here, there was no problem finding a comfortable table. They bring your order to you, so you don’t have to pick yourself up from the table to get it… mine came, two seperate pieces in an order(great for sharing), in a nice plastic basket. Practically this is a waffle sandwich… grab on to each side and prepare to bite down. So what did I think about the experience… the service is real good here, and the presentation is that of a very big waffle sandwich. the bite itself was off. how so? The waffles I find were too soft… there needs to be more chew to these things… it felt like air. which takes away from what the are(hey. waffle is in your name)… the chicken in the middle. while good… I would have liked it with a bit more fried chicken crunch! My other friend came later and ordered the salmon waffle… and I had her other half, while I traded her my half of the chicken. I was not really liking the salmon, as it made the entire package(bite) just a soggy experience. It was filling, but the bite left me at an odd space… the whole thing felt like a soft waffle with soft filling… not the most appetizing. I would not order this again. I did try Mark’s chips, as he did order the combo. and I quite liked them. they were thick seaweed chips. a good Asian twist. If you are looking for something out of the norm. like to eat with your hands, are around this area. this maybe for you. it wasn’t for me on this day… also remember. they have beer, so if you need that sort of beverage, this is also a spot for you.

It’s like I don’t know what I’m chewing but it’s so good … The portion is REALLY big… The cheese cake tastes sooooo weird but so good… Fluffy and warm waffles… And the nori chips are just… So unique… But so good that I can’t even stop until they were all gone … I haven’t been this lost for a while
