I was out of there with my food within 30 seconds of paying my order. Wow.

This is like a hippy McDonald and Yes outside there are homeless people. Its one of those McD that I don’t really want to go inside. Its small and not a lot of tables. The people there are not that friendly. I would try to avoid.

Definitely a 5 out of 5 for McDonalds! I’m not one to do repeats at restaurants but McDonalds has won me over. There will be a repeat if not sooner then later. The ambiance of this place is elegant, classy and absolutely a fine dining establishment. The service is the best I’ve had thus far. The server took our orders when we were ready. We didn’t have to wait or flag anyone down. The drinks/food didn’t take long to come out. She poured our water when our glass got empty. Came for regular checkups of whether everything was going alright. Requests were fulfilled. Needless to say, we got the attention we need when needed. Essentially I wanted to do the tasting menu but it’s only available for dinner and we came for lunch. We had the McNuggets as an appetizer. This was plated beautifully to the both of us. At any other restaurant, when one appetizer is ordered, they’d serve it to you on one plate and two sharing plates for both parties to dig in. However, at McDonalds, they take the time to plate that very one dish into two separate dish. For the mains, we tried the Big Mac and the Quarter Pounder with Cheese. The Big Mac patties were cooked perfectly on a bed of charred lettuce. On the side were some root vegetables and a side of McChicken Sauce. The McChicken Sauce tasted sweet and was skillfully made. It was slathered on in many thin layers and created into a solid form. This dish had many dimensions and texture. My lunch date had the Quarter Pounder with Cheese which was buttery and soft. It was a melt in your mouth piece of meat. I didn’t try any other elements of his dish but there was an unique gastronomic take on a poutine. I found that to be really cool and I don’t see this method used very often in Vancouver. Being so impressed by both the appetizer and the mains, I had to try their dessert. Our server also told us that the dessert is anything but ordinary. My lunch date isn’t a dessert person so I had to choose between the Caramel Sundae and the McFlurry. I later decided upon the McFlurry thinking what can they possibly do to make the Sundae any different than they already are. I was totally blown away when our server brought out my dessert. She was right. It was not the ordinary McFlurry. It had so many layers and each bite was a phenomenal experience. At the very bottom was Oreos(menu said it would be crispy?). On top of that was a stiff custard which was slightly sweet. Sitting at the center of the base was the chocolate swirl which gives the dish a refreshing touch of cocoa. There were also some Smarties that added the remaining crunch texture to the dish. An interesting dish, indeed. Review for the drinks: We both got the Diet Coke. This is probably the only disappointment I had. I didn’t taste the Diet nor the Coke. It only had a bit of sourness but no sweet element to balance it out. However, I was surprised that they actually gave me a free refill. All in all, I’d say this is definitely up to Michelin Star standards and may even be better than some that I’ve been to in Europe.

If you come here you know exactly what kind of food you’re getting here. There’s really no need to review it. At this location there are two levels of seating and always some interesting characters(customers) due to its location. There might be heavily intoxicated people or hobos who aren’t completely with it. Have to keep props to the staff that works at this location to deal with it all.

This location is quite the funny one. It is downtown afterall, there’s a lot of characters and homeless people. Everytime I’ve been to the ladies bathroom at night there’s been dustings of white powder with scratch marks on the counter sink, red wine bottles in the garbage, and eyelash glue packages, among other things. Anyways, I went to the washroom after I ordered an ice coffee and my drink fell off the toilet paper holder straight into the garbage can. I explained the situation to the cashier and even showed a picture, but he laughed it off and said«We literally just had three people before you with the exact same situation». He had also taken my order previously and was quite friendly. Another time I was here munching/chilling and observed a(probably homeless) man come up to the counter and complain that he got the wrong order an HOUR ago. I thought the young team leader handled the situation like a total professional/badass. Overall quite impressed with the location. I always think it’s the people who make the guest experience. This place is no better nor worse in terms of cleanliness; hey, it’s a fast food chain. FYI one last thing, this location will ask for your name for your order, going back to the funny characters in this neighborhood!

Haha, I consider myself a foodie so why am I eating at McD? Everything else was closed nearby on a Sunday night and my legs hurt too much from walking around all day. Just thought I’d write the differences between CA and US McD I had Chicken Nuggets and Filet– Filet was the same, but Chx were more tender and tasty. Unfortunately, the BBQ sauce in CA tastes really weird. Different enough that I really couldn’t eat it! Fries were smaller than US size as well. Soda comes out without overflowing with foam, less carbonated than US.

Worst McDs I have ever been to. I stupidly went here on a Saturday night. Service was horrible, the girl on till was so rude and had her arms folded while taking my order. All my food was cold, and I was charged .50 cents for a tiny cup of water!!! The place was a total disgrace! It was filthy. Whoever runs this McDs needs a kick in the butt.

there’s always action here, and some character to it, not by the building itself like the kerrisdale or HO one in burnaby, but the ppl who come here, of all types. kids, working ppl, clubbers, the homeless, u get it all. not really car-friendly but that’s ok, this one’s more the one to go to if you’re walking in the hood. at least u can shop by Champs next door after you’re done eating.

One of the cheaper places to go(besides street pizza) if you get the munchies in this part of town. Parking here is horrendous. Try to walk here. Think you can park on the metered spots on Granville at night after 2200, when the meters stop ticking? Think again. The tow trucks were having a field day. The inside is quite narrow. You can also sit upstairs during the day. This location is super tight though. The interior is a complete war zone throughout the day. The inside is definitely on the sticky side. People like to spill stuff on the floors and counters here. My friend and I watched a hobo fish a coffee cup out of the trash can, to get a refill. Good times.

Come here on a Saturday night — it’s part of the one long street party that’s known as the Entertainment District. The food’s the usual, but it’s absolutely great for people watching. One warning — the last time I passed by they had a big burly bouncer at the door checking all the patrons’ purses and backpacks.(Yup, he even wore the bouncer’s uniform of black t-shirt with Security in white letters, black pants.) If you go in, plan on behaving.(The only reason I rated it as not good for groups is that it can get pretty crowded and it’s hard to find a place to sit at times.)

I come here ’cause it is the closet quick thing before a Commodore or Venue show late at night. Not the greatest burger but at least it fills my belly before the mosh pit. Customer service is decent. In all fairness they have improved their menu significantly since a few years ago and have offered beyond burgers. Quality is the same, however, with more options I am less disgusted at the idea of going in. I like dipping my french fries in ice cream. Yes I am a freak like that. The fact that it is open really late is good for a late night snack after a show.

I think this is one of the best McDonalds locations. They are always busy do the food is always fresh. Also they are used to the hustle so it’s always quick. Plus; how doesn’t love 3 am Drunk McDonald’s when the club closes?

I have no reason to go into McDick’s unless I am craving a fountain drink or I want some shitty black coffee to keep me awake. When I walked into the bathroom I was bracing myself for a filthy mess, as it’s filled with patrons who look like they don’t shower or wash their clothing… but…but…it was one of the cleanest public bathrooms I’ve ever seen! Wowza… these employees probably do double time. ;) Anyways the employees are overtly nice, even though they probably see their fare share of wackos. But the wackos are what make this particular McDick’s so interesting! Clean bathrooms for the win! :D

Big Macs. I don’t know why I like them so much? The special sauce?(which seems a lot like 1000 island dressing) The double patties separated by that cute bun with no crust? The invariable trip down memory lane as I taste each bite? I have not had one for about 2 years. The one I had here on whim was splendid. Sometimes my standards are quite plebeian. g

This review is for 01/01/2012. Am I actually writing about McDonald’s? ! I guess I am. What exactly am I going to write that the billions of people have already tried. McDonald’s I will write about you only because my friend made me go inside, but I won’t eat any of your burgers anytime soon. My friend and I arrived to the McDonald’s on Granville around 2:20pm after traveling throughout Vancouver. This McDonald’s is either one block or a couple blocks north of SameSun Backpackers Lodges. Since McDonald’s is one of the heavy traffic areas, there are a lot of homeless people. outside the McDonald’s asking for money. This McDonald’s is a two-story store. My friend had coupons for burgers, but I was still sticking with my diet for 2012 Year. I ordered a Crispy Thai Chicken Salad($ 6.79) and a small drink($ 1.79). Sorry McDonald’s…No Burger from you anytime soon. My total was $ 9.16. Unfortunately, the PayPass system was not working and I had to swipe my card. BLAST! We decided to eat upstairs with a nice view of downstairs. There was a TV upstairs, but I do not recall if there was one downstairs. It was nice eating upstairs with the view of Granville St. Plus, I noticed a sign that said, «Free Wi-Fi». My word everywhere in Vancouver there is a hotspot location. I swear they will do a city wide hotspot and it’ll be used like crazy. I am glad they had it since I could connect to the web and make some Internet calls. At the end, my meal was OK. I felt I ate too much even though I had a salad. My friend was so focused on his meal that he realized that he forgot his umbrella downstairs… lol. I guess he loves his McDonald’s too much. I hope this is the first and last time I go to McDonald’s this year. If I do go to McDonald’s again and you see me, HITME… Not hard though… :) Unilocal is My Review, My Story, and My Life. Its time to share it.

One of my all-time best trips ever — Vancouver Marathon 2011(May 1). Ran the marathon, went back to my room to get changed, and sat down inside this McDonald’s and just watched the world go by. This McDonald’s is great for watching the many people that make Vancouver such an interesting place — all walks of life, going to pretty much anywhere; nobody bothers you, I can’t wait to come back!

I ordered a Big Mac at this location and they served me a Big Mac with a regular hamburger burger bun aka no sesame seeds. I was running late for lunch, so I ended up eating the Big Mac without complaining. Another sad thing about this McDonald’s location is one very famous but digusting event. Apparently, an employee choked the chicken on a bucket of lard. Luckily, he was caught and he was fired. It makes me never want to eat at this location for sure.

The perfect destination after an awesome night of dancing, music, and alcohol of all sorts. Sure — there may be a long lineup. but sooooo worth it… the junior chicken and baked pies were piping hot… delicious :)
