Great selection of ingredients you can’t find easily.

Downtown has no shortage of daily lunch spots, but if you don’t venture out of your normal range, it’s easy to exhaust all the cheap sushi, noodle bowl and build-your-own-salad options for under $ 10. Got a hankerin’ for a sizeable lunch? This is the spot. It may seem like a standard donair fast food shop, but they’ve got something special up their sleeves. It’s the footlong donair, built to order on a large tannour bread instead of a traditional pita. Pick your meat — go with the chicken shawarma — and select from a variety of fillings, such as lettuce, jalapeño marmalade, beets, middle eastern salsa, onions, and a sauce or two. They have a delicious sweet sauce which is the icing on this footlong stomach-filler. The best part is that it’s only around $ 7.50. They also have the usual donair shop menu items, but other specialties are their fries($ 1 more if you order a meal) and excellent rice.

This place wasn’t great… I wish I had read to reviews first. It was a bit disappointing and I would recommend heading down the street for other options.

We’ve come a few times, and always satisfied with their service and chicken or falafel donairs. And free fries!?! I didn’t even know because the donairs are already more that enough. In fact they double up the pita, so they can hold a lot. Lot’s of good toppings choices to fill them up too.

The salad in my falafel donair tasted distinctly like some chemical detergent soap. Now I have a stomach cramp in what feels like my left kidney. Donair Stop, if this is an addition to your menu, please add it to the ingredients list and at least use natural cleaning products like AspenClean so we don’t die. If I were a health and safety inspector, this would be a problem. But since I’m just another Granville Street passer-by, your negligence will continue to poison me in silence. If I live, I won’t be back. My love letter ends here.

Donair Stop is the Mc Donalds version of fast food. Since when do you serve french fries with a chicken donair? No taste nor flavour in the meats.

Truly OK place. They provide free order of fries with every order of the meal. I did not feel the flavour-fullness in my Chicken Donair. Can of Coke $ 1.75

Another one of those quick stops before a show if you want something that is healthy-ish and more filling. Not to far from the Commodore. You get filled up. I love how tender and well marinated the meat is. Very generous servings and customer service is awesome.

A huge lunch for under ten bucks. Free fries with the best beef Halifax style donair Vancouver has to offer. The staff is incredibly friendly, and treat their regulars very well. What I’m trying to say is, I love this place.

I stopped by here for a chicken donair and was pleasantly surprised that it came with free french fries! The donair is large and loaded with toppings. The pita bread was literally stuffed with toppings. This place reminds me of Subway in that you pick your meat, and then you pick the vegetables to stuff in the donair. Lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, sauce etc. This is probably one of the healthier fast food options around Granville when you are going to or leaving a club. The donair stop actually offers a lot of value in that it also gives you a free side of fries with their donair. Both are good. Ambiance wise, it passes. For some reason the décor reminds me of a 50’s diner. Maybe it’s the paint scheme or the fact that this location may have been a diner in the 50’s.(I remember seeing vintage photos of Vancouver in this location and I recall seeing the sign of a sandwhich shop in this exact corner on Granville.) It’s worth checking out and with the fries included, I would almost stick my neck out to say that this is probably one of the best bangs for your buck for food downtown.

Best falafel in city. Fresh, flavourful and with a fun selection of toppings and sauces for your pita or plate. The rice is also very nice. Highly recommended, give this new business your money! Apollo is awesome and the rest of the staff is super friendly.
