LOVE, LOVE, LOVE This place! :) It had the cutest décor and awesome food. Made like grandma would make. Super awesome and from scratch! :) The service was great, and the chef even poked his head out to talk to us about banana pancakes that are soon to hit their new menu! AND they’ve always been really cool about my food allergies. :) Great place for a quiet brunch with some good friends.

So sad this cute little place is closed now. This was my favorite brunch place on sunny Sunday in Gastown… So long… Will miss you!

This place hosted my birthday brunch and they really looked after us, it was a large group in a small place with toddlers and they were so welcoming. The food was gorgeous, the staff were delightful and the setting cozy and chic. It was just what I wanted, spending a few hours lingering over a lovely meal with friends. THANKYOU. Vancouver is not an easy place to have kids, few places that aren’t primary colours only treat you well with little ones.

One of my new fav spots for brunch in Vancouver. We had the eggs Benny(rich, flavouful Hollandaise sauce) and fluffy berry pancakes. I love, love, love the décor and dishware at this place… cute eclectic chic. The beautiful thank you card at the end of our meal was a nice touch. Will definitely come back to try their other brunch items!

As a tourist, I didn’t know where to go for Brunch but after some research on Unilocal,I made a reservation for Lily Mae’s before I came to Vancouver. I have to say, Lily Mae’s did not disappoint! It was everything I wanted & more for Brunch. The décor is adorable & so cohesive. The service is personable & kind. The food is so delicious. I went with my boyfriend who can be rather picky & he even agreed with me that brunch here was the best part of our trip. Going to Lily Mae’s makes you feel like you discovered a hidden gem in the city. I’ll most definitely come back the next time I visit Vancouver & I highly recommend it.

Whenever I need to take my parents out for brunch, I definitely find a place taking rsvn that would make my life much easier! I found Lily Mae on opentable and Unilocaler reviews are ok. Just gave it a try… We got seated at upstairs and saw different well thought out designed and paints along the stairs. It’s causal but got it’s own character. We ordered few coffees and came in large style mug. The coffee was fresh but not our favour. The French onion soup was great and cheesy. Hash browns just liked potatoes chopped in big piece not shredded or mashed. Sunny Day breakfast — Crab benny was mediocre and hollandaise sauce so bland Lily Mae breakfast — Bacons & sausages were ok but the scramble egg the scrambled eggs were unsalted and flavourless. Even though our waitress was friendly but it’s not good enough for me to give them 3-star.

We did the tasting menu with wine pairings. 4 courses each paired with a 3 oz glass. It’s a good value if you’re into a boozy dinner, cause the portions seemed small in comparison to the amount of wine served with each course. First was a small cup of tomato gin soup. I swear that there was more wine in my glass than soup in the bowl. The soup was lovely though. Then came about 6 escargot, each about the size of a cooked button mushroom and similar in texture. A bit disappointing as I was expecting something smothered in a butter garlic sauce, but it was not meant to be. The main was chicken coq au vin, I think, on a bed of pasta. Still pretty small. The dessert for me was the best and most filling part of the meal. Cherries jubilee with ice cream. I swear it was the biggest course and I was still hungry… and possibly a bit tipsy from all the wine. I think next time I’d order a la carte.

We went here today for brunch. Service was decent but food was below average. We ordered their duck club sandwich and crab benny. We waited a long time and both dishes were served cold, especially the crab benny. The crab didn’t taste very fresh and the avocado was almost a non– existent smear on the English muffin. We will not be coming back.

Décor: I love the décor, it was vintage and feminine, perfect for a afternoon brunch with the girls. Service: The service was okay, nothing exceptional. Food: I ordered the crab benny and it was below expectation. The crab meat tasted like it has gone bad and my tummy didn’t feel well later that evening. My friend ordered a cheese sandwich and her turned out really good. I guess just don’t order anything seafood from there.

Celebrated an engagement here this am with with about 10 people. My glass was unfortunately very dirty and had been missed. One of the girls at the table sat on glass that must have not been cleaned properly from an accident. My order was suppose to be the blueberry ricotta pancakes which after ordered was told it was going to be pulled from the menu this Tuesday and there was only one order of it and it had already been ordered. Everyone that had ordered a type of eggs Benedict had very overcooked eggs. Cute place but unfortunate experience.

A little gem! Love this place! Today was the first time visiting this place and I will be back! Especially when out of town friends come in for a visit. Highly recommend this place if you’re ever in the Gastown area. I had the Canadian eggs Benedict with diced potatoes. At first I thought two eggs would be too much since I always set just one, but… I ate EVERYTHING! I can’t wait to go back!

Great for breakfast and brunch, a charming place tucked away from busy gastown. Eggs Benedict is amazing

Lily Mae’s is a quaint, cosy, beautifully decorated restaurant in a central location in Gastown. It’s a great place for brunch with friends or a ranting dinner with someone special. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the food is to die for! We have always had exceptional service each time we’ve been. The hardest decision you’ll need to make is what to order. I’ve tried a number of things on the menu and never been disappointed. For dinner some of my favourites are the French Onion Soup and Wild Boar Belly. For brunch you can’t go wrong with Croque Madame, BBQ Pork Belly Benedict or Chorizo Hash. Do yourself a favour and put this on your wish list, you won’t be disappointed.

Love this place! Food is delicious and a great stop for tourists or Vancouverites. It’s intimate, quaint and has a romantic feel. I’ve been twice with friends and plan to go back again. Each time everyone really enjoyed their food and had great service from the owner. I loved the beef bourguignon so much the first time I had to have it again. Definitely recommend Lily Mae’s and next up is to try their brunch and lunch.

Just had breakfast there this week. The breakfast was good but the pancakes were amazing. They are a little stingy on the fruit. I like the décor. I’d go there again.

A very quaint spot it is. Small, cozy, single unisex washroom, somewhat rustic, nice décor. Food pretty decent. Cheeseburger with housemade patty and seasonal greens. Two thumbs up Chorizo hash. Two thumbs up. Blueberry ricotta pancakes, not bad. Still prefer the lemon ones at Plow in San Francisco. Those are still a benchmark for me. All in all a pretty satisfying brunch with friendly service Pricing is reasonable for brunch. Pro-tip: on cooler days, the aircon on the upper level can make your experience a bit chilly. It blows all over the place. Bring a sweater.

Went for a Mother’s Day brunch here with the family and it was great! Everyone enjoyed their food and the pancakes were especially delicious. The décor was cute and vintage style, which added to the café’s overall feel. The two things that kept me from giving this place a 5 was the fact that our food took a very long time to come and was cold by the time we ate our first bite. Also the space is very tight and cramped, and due to the lack of seats available, making a reservation is a must!

«Dear Armand, Thank you so much for your hospitality. My wife and I had a lovely time at your place and your food was so amazing and delicious.» That’s what it feels like to eat at Lily Mae’s, or at least what we felt last night. I came across Lily Mae’s by accident, when I was making an early reservation on Open Table and quite frankly, it’s something that should not stay a secret for too long. From the moment you walk in, it is almost like you are having dinner at a friend’s house instead of a restaurant. The décor, the atmosphere, it is not a stuffy restaurant and a far cry from the cookie-cutter chains that populate much of Vancouver. The food is even better than home-cooked. The macaroni and cheese with duck confit was just rich enough and as an appetizer is the perfect size to be shared with one other person. The duck confit makes it just slightly richer without taking over the cheesy-goodness. The market steak was cooked perfectly and had a very lovely peppercorn aioli and complimented the steak quite nicely. Handcut fries and a salad make a nice accoutrements to the main course. The icing on the cake was the cake: an apple pecan bacon cake. Apple. Pecan. BACON! This dessert was the perfect topper for the meal. One one hand, I’m very grateful I shared it with my wife because it was so good it clearly could not be good for me. The décor is lovely. It looks like a nice dining room. It gives the meal that extra kick of character. One of the highlights of eating here, at least for us was Armand, the proprietor. He’s so friendly and warm, it makes it seem like you have actually gone to a friend’s house to eat. If I ever had to host a private dinner party, I would definitely consider trying to book out Lily Mae’s and until then I’ll just have to come again with friends. The brunch menu looks utterly fantastic.

HOW adorable is this place?! Ok so this is going to sound like a backhanded compliment but I promise you, it’s not the case. This little restaurant is exactly how I would one day want my bathroom to look like. Stop. Stop. It’s a good thing! The giant full length mirror on the upper level, the slightly distressed cream accents, the fabulous wall paper, wrought iron details and beautifully decadent(without being gaudy) light fixtures… Tell me you wouldn’t want to take a bath in this place. TELLME. It’s such a lovely pocket of a place in Gastown that has a light & airy but completely intimate feel to it. We only stopped in for a quick glass of wine but my See Ya Later Pinot Gris was lovely(with a lovely looking pour to boot — thank you heavy hands!). After taking a peek at the menu, I will definitely be back to sample the french onion soup & the eggplant parmigiana. Plus they have daily dessert features. Today’s was a chocolate/baileys mousse cake something or other. COMEON. This restaurant is the spirit animal of my future bath-time girliness 100%. Best. Bath. Ever. A for atmosphere. Cute, quaint & intimate — leaning on the girlie side for sure. But we all need a little girly spot to curl up with a glass of vino once and awhile right? Lily Mae — i’ll be back for those desserts soon!

Came here sans reservation for Sunday brunch with a group of 7. The staff bent over backwards to fit us in at a lovely upstairs table and the service was quick, personable and we didn’t feel rushed at all despite being told that the table was needed at noon. I ordered the blueberry ricotta pancakes, OMG they were soooo yummy. I looked longingly at my brunch mates crab and avocado benny, but was still pleased with my choice. One small complaint though: please update your website as it says that you do not take reservations when it turns out that you in fact do. Also, the power kept cutting out as it’s an old building, so it took almost 15 minutes to get my latte; I live in Montréal where the buildings are actually old and this has never happened. Still, I overlooked this blip as I had a yummy gin Caesar in front of me, nom nom. The place is über cute: chandelier, baby blue walls and gorgeous antique’y furniture and huge windows letting the sunlight in. Every single staff member was completely awesome, fun and accommodating. I will definitely come back next time I am in Vancouver.
