Quite at the last minute, our group of 5 decided to try dinner at Lift. Several of us have had drinks on their patio in summer, one of the best in the city, but none of us had actually eaten downstairs in the restaurant. We hadn’t made a reservation, so decided to take a chance on their ability to accomodate us. We were not diappointed! As this was a Saturday evening and we didn’t have a reservation, we were greeted promptly and informed they could accommodate us, but as our table was reserved for another party after us, they would need our table in an hour and a half. Very professional, and we agreed. The views are outstanding. The atmosphere was great. Our food was delicious. The décor was terrific… All the things that quite frankly, I expect at this price point. Our expectations were met on all those points. What made our experience at Lift amazingly memorable and what exceeded expectations was our server, Erenee. She was, quite simply, among the best servers any of our party has ever had. Professional, knowledgeable, friendly, efficient. These are all words that describe her. Her people skills are amazing. She juggled all her tables, including one in our section with a former Prime Minister of Canada as a guest, like nobody I’ve ever seen. It was Erenee that made our experience at Lift so memorable. If you find yourself in Vancouver looking for a great meal experience, seek Erenee out. She’s fantastic.

Claire, Stephanie and all the people from the restaurant are so great! I have limited budget to host a bday party for my hubby. But thanks to them for accommodating my request. It was great to have a choice of choosing the patio vs the wine bar area. They also printed a special menu for me which was awesome! The canapé’s were very tasty! Highly recommend the Lift if you want to host a special occasion here! Great view overlooking the marina, great service and good food! All my guest were happy with the venue, food and service!

This is a beautiful venue, with an unparalleled view over the marina, park and north shore mountains. That would be enough to recommend it, but the food and wine are also stunning. My partner had a seafood penne, which tempted even me(a vegetarian!) with how fresh and vibrant it looked. My ravioli with seasonal vegetables and a grilled portobello mushroom was a delicious, and cooked to perfection. We shared a bottle of the BC cabernet merlot which was wonderful, and local! And, last but not least, our server Aisha was incredibly friendly, helpful and simply a joy. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

This place is truly delightful. A friend joined me for a little unplanned celebration this evening. They had no reservations remaining, but accepted us as a walk-in. We started our meal with the Fried Hamboldt Squid. This dish was excellent. The squid was fresh, tender and complemented by a mix of jalapeño, crispy shallot, lemon grass, cilantro, with a dipping sauce of spicy mayo. I had the 12oz Ribeye which came with a vegetable mix and scallop potatoes. It was the best steak and scallop potatoes I’ve ever had. Located in the heart of Cole Harbour Vancouver. Great for a nice walk along the water near downtown. Excellent view! We had a minor mixup which the manager quickly remedy making it a completely satisfying and enjoy able evening. This is a gem of restaurants in Vancouver!

This place is immaculate! Dinner right on the water with a Stanley Park view! The staff were really nice considering this is 5star dining… They didn’t say a word when we put confetti on the table… The server was really professional, knowing we were there for a bachelorette party, he was nice enough to say the bride was cut off and didn’t kick us out… Very pleased with that!

I came here on Thanksgiving Sunday for brunch. Sitting here watching the surf and the autumn leaves of Stanley park turn from summer green to hues of autumn orange and brown was breathtaking. Today I had the secret special, or what was written on the bill the daily catch. Scotch eggs today. It can with polenta, arranged with sprouts, fruit and drizzled with a tangy sauce. The Scottish egg was coated with sausage and a very nice crust. I almost wanted to say it was Panko bread crumbs but I could be wrong. It was nice and crispy. From my photo you can see hints of tomato, green and red onion used in the breading. They have the most interesting salt shaker/pepper grinder combo on the table which deserved special mention. On the bottom is a peppercorn grinder and on top is a salt shaker. Its operation is very neat and was an interesting toy to play with. The atmosphere here this morning was very calm and serene. I felt like I could just sit here and write a book or an extra long Unilocal review because of the peaceful water and chill vibe coming from the speakers. Who knows maybe even get work done here when you’re completely having a brain freeze if its quiet. I’m happy to report this place has one of the cleanest washrooms I’ve ever used. It’s like they hired the person that designed the Cactus club washrooms to make something custom for this classy bar. My server tody was Ereenie and she was very charming, attending to my caffeine addiction and recommending the wonderful Scotch egg I just devoured. This is one of the classiest restaurants I’ve ever ate at. 5 stars for the wonderful service(special mention again to Ereenie), awesome atmosphere and delicious brunch.

Wonderful. The service was great. Very well informed, polite servers who know everything about what is actually on the menu! This may not seem like a big deal but it makes a huge difference. I ordered the Sea Bass and it was amazing. The vegetables on the side were so fresh, you could taste the individual items. The fish itself was fresh and buttery with a wonderful, crispy skin attached. I’m not a chef or a professional foodie but I know what good food is. Every person at my table loved their meal. My brother had the short rib and thought it was excellent. I’ll definitely be returning to this place.

I had the Caesar salad and asked for added chicken. i am on a medical diet and extremely limited what i can eat. i was very disappointed with my meal. the chicken was dry and flavourless and the dressing was lacking any hint of garlic or cheese, just yoghurt and lemon. definitely not worth the 17.89 i paid for the salad. beautiful location and the service was impeccable, but the food i had was not satisfying or quality to be expected of such an establishment. even something as basic as a salad maybe other dishes would be ok but i was not impressed.

Came here for dinner with my husband and had the best dinner. The ambiance is relaxing and the servers are attentive and friendly. I had the shrimp and prawn risotto and it was amazing. My husband had the chicken and it was so juicy. The drinks were on point. I would recommend the Cadillac margarita because they were fantastic. If you want great food, drinks, service and atmosphere then come to Lift.

We were heading to a harbour cruise at 2.45pm and we had around maybe 1h in advance so we decided to eat a bit at the LIFT as it was close by and the place had a great view. Little did we know, the waitresses put us at a table in the sun… whereas one under an umbrella was free, had to ask to move but that is just the beginning. Then we proceed to the order: a burger and a steak and fries; both are pretty simple and fast meals to do, right? Or so you would thought but not at the LIFT! After, 10 minutes the beer I ordered arrived, the meals nothing, had to wait another 25 minutes yes almost 35 minutes to get served, so by the time we had to leave almost straight away! As for the food, my burger was plain, meat too well done for my tasting, no surprise, no frill there: a good Big Mac is way better! So make yourself a favour and try something else or just don’t go. As for the steak my girlfriend didn’t like it at all, it was too cooked and not appetizing… Fries were average, what you can expect from a fries. To conclude this has been the only restaurant I went in the Vancouver area that I’ve been really disappointed with, bad customer service, bad food, but a great view… It is a no go!!!

This is a place to go for the view! They open all the doors and also have a glass patio that is right over the water too! Food was all excellent. Cocktails were excellent. Not a ton of variety on the menu but my friend and I shared a few different things and we’re happy with our choices. Our waiter was a little dry on the sense of humor but hey not everyone can be 100% every day.

Took my friend for her birthday here last Sunday and sat on the patio upstairs. I have been here a few times and I must say the food has been hit or miss but I had a wonderful meal/experience on this visit! I had the nova scotia lobster(two poached eggs, spinach, sautéed wild mushrooms English muffin, chive hollandaise) which was DELICIOUS! I generally am not a huge fan of hollandaise but this was very good. My friend had the fish and chips, I had a few bites of hers and it was pretty good as well. For dessert we had some sort of lemon mousse cake? recommended by our server… that was also delicious. The view from the patio is beautiful… I could sit there all day and nibble/drink. This is a great spot for girls night or date night as they have a beautiful patio with a fire pit. Try the sparkling peach(ceres peach nectar, peach schnapps, sparkling wine) my new favorite drink! Will definitely be coming back for this…

This restaurant seems hot and cold. I’ve been there is that past, had great food and service and then on Sunday, went for brunch and was disappointed. My 5-start rating system works with 1 star given for each of the following categories: — Food Quality — Location and parking — Staff Friendliness — Cost — An «Above and beyond» factor that can happen IF the above 4 all synergize together. So back to the Lift. FOOD: I had the Seafood Salad and it came with a couple of shirmpy little shimps, some scallops the size of your thumbnail, a small piece of salmon and then a WHOLELOT of mixed greens! Come on guys! I buy those same greens and Whole Foods. After brunch coffee? M’eh. Ain’t workin’… NOSTAR. Advice? Get creative. Check out the Seattle Space Needle for a GREAT Shrimp Salad that REALLY delivers. Get a GOOD coffee machine, better coffee, filter the water, clean it out? Not sure… LOCATIONANDPARKING Outstanding! Great valet parking out front and exception outdoor seating. ONESTAR STAFF Very very good. Everyone seemed friendly and our waitress Catlyn was super nice, chatty and attentive ONESTAR PRICE Fine IF the food was better. ONESTAR ABOVEANDBEYOND? Sorry. It just didn’t happen with the food. Get that in line and you’ll have a place that will«Synergize» to great heights! Will I go back and take people there? Absolutely. But they can do better.

I came here because I wanted to have a meal on the water on my way to Stanley Park. Given the location I as expecting mediocre food at ridiculous prices. And yes, the average was a bit high, but not unreasonably so, and there were some reasonably priced menu items. I got a bowl of seafood chowder and since the weather was a bit cloudy, I had the whole patio to myself. The soup was a little bland, but stuffed with clams and generous portions of other seafood. And the potatoes were perfectly food, not at all mushy or mealy. The chowder came with a slice of garlicky sourdough, perfect for wiping up the last bits of cream. I did have to chase down my waiter at the end of the meal, but since I was the only one outside and they were swamped upstairs, that’s perfectly understandable. The food is good enough and the views are fabulous. Not worth going out of your way for, but definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Now the view is gorgeous from lift. Especially the patio during the summer. It’s nice to just sit up there and look at the peaceful water with a glass of wine in hand. The food is mediocre, I wasn’t too impressed with the food selection as it’s very limited. Being that it’s limited I would expect it to be extraordinarily amazing. Well it really wasn’t!!! I found it to be very bland from the prawn tempura appetizer to the entrée, I just was not impressed. I would rather just go to lift for a drink and that’s about it. I also do fine there tends to be stuck up snobs there who think they are too cool and rich to even smile. The service was good, our waitress was pleasant and on point with refilling beverages. Overall I think there’s better restaurants in Vancouver with amazing views for less price and better cuisine!

We had a less than impressive experience on Mother’s Day. The location of this restaurant is beautiful and my mother was thrilled. The view was stunning and the ambiance is great. They described the Halibut as specials and it sounded absolutely delicious for my mom. We were all excited but the dinner started going down hill as the food arrived. My mom, having a culinary background, instantly noticed that her risotto was cooked unevenly. Some parts were cooked and some were raw. We let the waitress know and she asked the kitchen and their response was«that’s how risotto is done.» Not wanting to cause an argument, and waitress being at no fault, we simply asked to change the sides but keep the halibut. As they brought the dish for the 2nd time, the Halibut was completely raw. The 3rd time, the dish was brought by the manager who didn’t apologize, who just threw down the plate. This angered my mother and she had lost her appetite. After dinner service was done, manager came over with the bill and apologize with no sincerity. It was merely out of requirement that she did. This is a great place to grab a quick drink by the water but as for dinner service goes, don’t do it.

Good view, good service, okay food and drinks I was very excited to check out this place because it is perfect for vancouver summer. The view was amazing, we were right on the water. The server was excellent, but the food and drinks were a little bit on the meh side. However, this would be a great first date spot given the location and the view. I would still recommend this place to my friends from out of town

We had a great experience coming to this restaurant for Mother’s Day. To start the location for this restaurant is beautiful. If you get to come to this restaurant I would highly recommend that you go to the patio if the weather is nice because the views of Stanley Park and the water with the mountains in the background is well worth the drive and parking. Even the tables have the appearance of being a beautiful white marble. One thing that I really like about this restaurant is that the food is really really tasty. But because it is in downtown Vancouver and along the harbor front you would expect that the prices would reflect its location. But the prices do not. The prices are actually extremely reasonable which is a very pleasant surprise. I can’t wait to come back to this restaurant again sometime in the future much for dinner. I have been told that the dinner menu is on an iPad.

First and foremost, the view from LIFT is impressive. The windows open out into Coal Harbor. On a scale of one to eating a slice of pizza from the Capilano bridge, probably about a 7. We were in the mood for lunch with a view, and LIFT delivered. Parking was kind of confusing for our first time in Vancouver. But we were eventually able to make it inside. The layout was confusing, and a bit cramped, but the hostess quickly showed us to our table. We overlooked the water and a park on the side. We ended up eating off of the happy hour menu. I had fish and chips, and my wife had a smallish cut of steak. Both were decent, but nothing special. At this point, we were the only people in the restaurant, and the amount of time without seeing a server only amplified the solitude. It was nice to have a peaceful lunch, but also kind of eerie. However, our few interactions were friendly. On a bright day or clear night, coming to LIFT will reward you with decent food to accompany an amazing view. It’s worth a lunch.

I had lunch here for my works holiday party, the first time was just to check the place out and we had our party yesterday. They have a great layout, it seated us comfortably. There were quite a few of us so it was difficult to make sure all 50+ of us were all in the same room but if you went with a small group even for a party it would be great. They have a covered patio upstairs with a fire pit, booths and stand up tables looking out to the water and Stanley park is across the water. The food was not bad, the lunch with just a few of us was much better than our big group company menu, most likely because they were being made in big batches for a group of 50 rather than 4 but not bad. Their portions were good and quite filling. The dessert was unfortunately a tasteless pannacotta with a baked pear that was also tasteless and cold… Probably the worst part of the meal but still overall deserved at least the 3. I was happy with the food when we went in a smaller group so I’m sure quality is better than ordering from the menu rather than a set menu. Their style is seafood coast type very similar to its counterparts near it like carderos but not as expensive. The service was great, people were welcoming and polite. Food came relatively at the same time and waters were filled often. They were very open and understanding for having to host a group of 50 and let us do prize draws etc.

Date, Business
