The warehouse is the perfect spot for a cheap bite after work. Every dish is $ 5, from the quesadillas to their works burger with fries, or even a goat cheese and beet salad. There are of course upgrades, but how can you argue with $ 5 entrées? The drinks are fairly reasonable as well, with pints starting around $ 5.50. On Fridays they serve these crazy pink lemonade bulldog type cocktails: think a double vodka-lemonade, now add a corona and bam! You have officially turned up for Friday night. Then there’s the music. The first time I visited, they were playing funky 90s classics like prince and MJ. The second time I visited was on a Tuesday and they were blasting old school rock. Leave your louboutins at home though, this bar is more hipster than trendy. The music is loud, and there is a great casual vibe. Whether you’re grabbing a beer before the game, or turning up for Friday night, the warehouse is a good time on a budget.

Good enough food and drinks for the price, but service is atrocious. We were a party of 5 and the waitress added a 18% gratuity to our bill, even though the menu said auto-gratuity is for tables of 6 or more. I talked to a manager about this and they defended it, saying that this menu was for their«other location». I demanded that I get my money back since I was not told in advance and it was not written anywhere at the venue and they begrudgingly yielded and gave me my money back. On the fence on whether I want to spend the money here again or just go somewhere else.

Worst service ever. Yes, this place has really cheap food. The waitresses however will make you want to never come back though. First off, they lack basic service. They will walk past you and give you attitude when you try to ask for something. Secondly, once the long haired brunette/redhead girl FINALLY came here, she asked(with attitude again) «how are you doing…» and my friend didn’t hear her and asked if she could order. I swear, the waitress gave the rudest and most condescending look ever and said«yes, I asked how are you though» in the bitchiest tone ever. Anyways, it took forever to get our food(40 minutes +) and just as we take a bite she comes over and asks if everything is good. WHYYES, the one bite we took was good, after waiting for 40 minutes and putting up with your crappy service. Like who do these waitresses think they are?

I wish I could do a 4.5÷5 rating for this place, but I don’t mind giving them a 5! This place is overall great. Their portions aren’t crazy big(or small), and all of their dishes at $ 5! I mean, how can you say no! There’s usually a wait for busy hours, but it’s worth it, and they’ve got a patio with a heater so it isn’t too bad when it’s a little chilly out. I really recommend this place to anyone downtown looking for a place to eat and don’t wanna pull out big bills from their wallets. It’s also a good everything place. The first time I went here, I went with a couple coworkers and I remember getting mac and cheese. Simple dish, and always a hit with the taste buds. The second time I came was with my boyfriend. We grabbed the potato skins to start, and the fish taco trio and the bacon carbonara for the main meal. They happily replaced the spaghetti for a different pasta of my choice in the carbonara, which made me really happy. Overally, I had an amazing experience and I’ll be sure to stop by again when I’m in the area.

I went on a weekday and there wasn’t a line up(thank god!) I was seated right away. Be prepared to have a conversation of yelling since the Famous Warehouse is so loud. Also, not my kind of music taste…90s rock and metal. Cringe. Its definitely got the décor for a dive bar, mostly random stuff pinned against the walls. It’s dark, and hard to differentiate the servers from the customers. That’s what the Warehouse is going for, though. Casual, casual, casual. I ordered the vegetarian burger, which comes with fries, soup or salad. The meal was filling and satisfying. The brioche bun reminded me of McDonalds for some reason: soft, pillowy, and sweet. The Famous Warehouse is a great place to bring your friends if you’re a bit tight with money, but don’t expect any sort of good service… or clean bathrooms.

I’ve been here twice in one week! I don’t have enough nice things to say. The staff is fantastic — everyone is so enthusiastic. As someone who has worked in the pub industry, it is REALLY awesome you’re a collection of people that enjoy coming to work. PLUS all food items on the menu are 5 bucks. Whaaaaaat?! It’s grandville street? Yeah. And delicious. My favorite item is the beet and goat cheese salad(it comes with candied pecans). I’ve also ordered the veggie burger and mushroom Swiss burger. Beautiful. I’ve come here with a group and alone and have been equally as satisfied. It’s a bit grunge — but that’s my scene. I felt so at home!

Only been here once. Food is cheap -$ 5 burgers but nothing spectacular. Service is only ok– nothing outstanding. Pretty much like fast food.

Went on a Friday night around 7; the lineup wasn’t too long so we were seated in about 5 minutes. For the big portions, it’s a great deal. My friend and I both ordered the Works Burger since it was highly recommended on here(I chose yam fries which I later discovered was an extra $ 1.95). I still think Red Robin burgers taste better, but you can’t beat a stuffed burger for $ 5. Worst service ever though; long dirty blonde server was expressionless, and gave us attitude(we asked for a separate bill and she said that it WAS separate… uh why is there only ONE bill?). Then when it came to paying, she stood there watching us. Tip: Do not pay cash — use credit so you can specify the tip %, otherwise her standing there might make you feel pressured to tip more. She made my friend(who was paying in cash) feel so uncomfortable she ended up unintentionally tipping more than I did(even though my meal cost more). Also, the music is very loud. It’s cheap and worth going at least once though; my total was less than $ 8 after tips.

One of my really good friends and I were strolling around the area near International Village, looking for decent cheap places to eat at aside from the obvious(and kinda nasty) McD’s that was the obvious option. What were two very broke girls to do anyway? Then we came upon a sign that claimed all the items of this particular restraunt, Famous Warehouse, were under $ 5. Sold at the first second. «Let’s try it out,» she said to me eagerly, and damn did we not regret it. The inside of the restraunt had a very rugged, vintage look. It kind of reminded me of that feel that Bön’s Off Broadway had but sleeker and more well, clean. The washrooms, I later discovered, had posters and graffiti all plastered over the walls, a nice touch of décor. I ordered the Perogies, forgoing the bacon option for a hefty additional charge(in comparison to the order itself), and my friend had the Swiss Mushroom Burger, which came with fries. For $ 5, hers was definitely the better deal. However though, I had eaten beforehand so I opted for something lighter. For the price, and ignoring the expensive add ons, Gourmet Warehouse is a bargain treasure. $ 5 netting you a decent burger and a side of fries is not something you come by often in Vancouver– it’s cheaper than even McD’s! I have a feeling though, that this place more or less makes its money off of people who regard it as cheap and then proceed to order like 10 dishes… Most of the items on the $ 5 menu are tapas sized and add ons are an extra $ 1.75 to $ 2.50+. This can quickly make an item go from $ 5 to $ 7 – 8 after a little bit of cheese or a piece or two of bacon! Either way though, the food was excellent. Very worth the price. Only problem I had was with the waitresses. The service was decent but they seriously reminded me of some high school chick clique, and kind of looked the part too. Be a bit more professional when you’re on the floor at least, and not giggling every five minutes or so please? Overall 4⁄5 would visit again.

Our first«dinner» in Vancouver as a young couple, the atmosphere was great… loud, but what do you expect at a cheap pub? Speaking of cheap: $ 5 for everything and anything on the menu; they also had well priced drinks. I had the«Works» burger with onion rings which was phenomenal for that price — it really can’t be beat anywhere within a 20 mile radius. I am deducting one star, and that is for the wait time and amount of smoke. 1) The wait time, even getting there VERY early on a Saturday took over an hour for two people to get a table. 2) You wait in line outside not one, but two smoke shops. For people like my wife and I who detest smoke(not smokers) — it’s not very fun to stand for 60 minutes inhaling a pack. Overall, thumbs up, if you are on a budget(heck, even if you’re not) check out Famous Warehouse, great food, good atmosphere, amazing prices.

If you are ever on Granville Street on a Tuesday night– come here for $ 3 Tequila shots and their Tacos that I believe were $ 1 each. I absolutely adored their employees, if I remembered their names I would list them here. The location and vibe is great in this area and at this bar.

I went there with three of my friends on a Saturday at 5PM. We were seated almost immediately. I ordered two Mushroom Swiss burgers and a chicken fingers with fries starter. It took 10 – 15 minutes for our food to arrive. The chicken fingers and fries comes with three strips of chicken, fries and ketchup, and a honey mustard sauce. It came out hot. Now here’s the part where this place loses a star or two. I ordered two Mushroom Swiss burgers as I said earlier, and two of my friends ordered a Works burger for a total of four. Three burgers arrived, and we couldn’t hear the waiter say which one was which due to the loud music, so my friend ended up eating one of my burgers by accident. We waited for another 10 minutes and the fourth burger still didn’t arrive. We questioned the waiter and it turns out that there was a mess-up on the order. She then proceeded to take my friend’s cup for a refill(by request), but never came back with the refill. Another star lost is that when my burger arrived, the bottom bun was quite soggy. The burger itself contained a beef patty, a tomato, a sauce, and some mushrooms. My problem was that the mushrooms were mainly put on one side, so it left the other side of the burger tasting rather bland. Other than that, the waiter responded well and was polite. She also took our order without writing any of it down which was quite impressive. This place does do take out and has boxes for that. The $ 4.95/item is very affordable and the portions are fair. Overall, this place is nice for a cheap bite in downtown Vancouver.

This place offers good for really cheap price– we are talking $ 4.99 a plate, hard to find in downtown Vancouver. I have had some really nice meals here but the more I go I realize that the service has gone down noticeably. The waiters can be a little bit rude and it takes a really long time to get the food. The food itself is great but when combined with bad service is doesn’t leave a great after taste. The music inside can be a little bit too loud– they usually play rock, therefore I recommend sitting outside and enjoying the Granville street vibes.

This place is a great deal for some delicious dishes. However, the service completely ruined my girlfriend’s experience and mine as well. The bar itself is situated in a little nook on Granville, in between a convenience store and another establishment. Walking up to a mix of Alternative and Indie Rock being played from the bar, the vibe felt good even though it was rather noisy. We sat on the middle right side, facing the bar. After being seated, we were greeted by our server, Christina. We placed our order for two salads and four $ 0.95 tacos, along with a 4.99 beer. You had to commit to buying a drink in order to order the tacos, which wasn’t too much of a strain given the price. My girlfriend placed an order for a Cesar Salad and I ordered the Quinoa Salad. Our server, Christina, then asked if I wanted Bread with the salad. I asked if it was more, and she said it was $ 2.00 extra. I said I would think about it and she took that to mean I had ordered it. After asking her to not order the bread, she preceded to say, with an extreme amount of sarcasm, «Oh no, the world will end if the bread is made!» She finished this statement by slapping the table with both hands and going about her business with other tables. I would like to make a note that she was in no way hurried from table to table(ex: she had plenty of time to go hang out with the bartender and other coworkers). Shortly after this occurred, my girlfriend decided that she wanted to change her salad order to another dish. She asked our server whether or not the salad had been made yet. Christina told us abruptly, «it’s about to be done.» My girlfriend then politely asked that, if it wasn’t done, that her order be changed to a Pulled Chicken Sandwich. My girlfriend continued to say that, if the salad was done, to bring it out. As a server, my girlfriend said this knowing that it can be a hassle to throw out a dish that is ready. Our server left and was gone for about 5 minutes or more, after we had already waited 10 minutes for our orders(15 minutes total time waiting for a simple Cesar Salad, with the Tacos arriving before all of this). While it was obvious the salad had not been made and our server had lied, we finally received both our salads and additional plate all at once. After completing our meal, we asked for the check. When we received the bill, the bread that I had asked to be removed was still on, along with the salad. Given that my girlfriend ate the salad, I thought it was fine to just remind our server that the bread needed to be removed. After getting her attention, our server walked by and, as I was about to ask about the bread, preceded to yank the bill from my hand and say with little care, «Oh, the bread, right?» and walked away. As a server, I can honestly say this was the rudest I have ever seen or been treated in terms of restaurant/bar experiences. Needless to say, we will never be coming back and I hope any future patrons don’t have to suffer the same appalling treatment. If you like cheap eats, be my guest. If you like being treated in a rude and unkindly manner, they can certainly provide that as well.

Used to be my favourite spot for cheap food and for drinks with friends on the weekend. I had been going there for 4 years since 2010. But I have had a few issues with them. The first problem was the waitress lost the paper she wrote our order on and only told us after 20 minutes. This waitress who brought our wings without enough sauce so we asked for her to add more. She only returned with them after 15 – 20 min(how does it take that long to add sauce to wings) at which point she had put the wrong sauce onto our wings. She had added bbq sauce to the hot wings, hot sauce to the teriyaki. All she had to say was«sorry» and didn’t try to replace our order. To make it worse the wings were stone cold. I will forgive them that since i wrote a comment about it the owner did send me a message apologizing and saying he would talk to the waitress but it seems to me nothing happened. The second time we went back shockingly we got the same waitress again. Where upon she got our order wrong but didnt seem concerned that there was an issue there. My friend is allergic to onions and we ask her for a burger with no onions with salad no fries and she brings it and states it had no onions but it did. It would be one thing if she said«i’m sorry our mistake» but all she did was just grab the plate and only return after a long while with it and again with fries and no salad. Whereupon she leaves the burger and says she will return with the salad which she never does. The salad only arrives at the end when we are paying and obviously we have to pay for it since its there. This was a great place for me and my friends and now they never want to go there anymore. The only constant i can say is their barman. Their barman are great people but i cant always sit by the bar. So because of the barman and the owner messaging me I wont give them 2 stars but 3

Yes there are line ups and you do have to rise your voice when talking to the person in front of you BUT the food is on point. Just because it looks like a run down place, their food will have no comparison to other five dollar menu restaurants. I knew there was going to be a line up no matter what time I went. So I chose to go at 5pm on a Wednesday because most people are still at work or wouldn’t go out to eat due to a weekday. On Wednesdays, they have wings for 25 cents. The chicken wings were the daintiest things I have ever seen. There was more crispy breading than actually meat. You have to order a drink and you must order a minimum of 10. There are«fancier» coatings on the chicken wings but for five cents more. I ordered the Work burger and it has surpassed every burger I have eaten in my entire life. The burger was actually better than the ones served at Earl’s, White spot etc. The bun was toasted and hot to the touch. It wasn’t cold or soggy and the buttery brioche bread really elevated the burger. My friend had the quesadilla and when she bit into it, I heard a loud crunch which is a good thing because most quesadilla served are soggy or tasteless. The portions are pretty large for a $ 4.95 value. For the burgers, skip the extras because the Works burger had crispy onions and bacon. They have month specials and in March, they offered a mushroom soup, a margarita pizza, cuban sandwich, s’mores and etc. I promise you this place is worth the line up. Go when it is the weekdays and have an early lunch or dinner because that is how you beat the long queues on weekends

One of my favourite go-to places when I’m looking for comfort food downtown. Their weekly deals are beyond amazing(all-you-can-eat pasta Mondays, all-you-can-eat taco Tuesdays, 25cent wings Wednesday), which is probably why it’s near impossible to land a seat on those days. But with an all day menu of 4.95 everything, you’re bound to find a good deal here. Burgers, mac n cheese, fish tacos, all at a great price and well made. I came here recently with preggo cravings for mac n cheese, and convinced the husband to enjoy a burger while I sat there so I wouldn’t look all sad being the only one eating. We both left satisfied and only $ 10 cheaper. How fantastic! One day I’ll come on a wing night, but until then… they’ll always have a special place in my heart for their very reasonable prices. And for their mini donuts. Seriously — those things are so good!

We have been going here for years! This place rocks! It kinda reminds me of senior frogs in Mexico! It’s pumping, loud and fun! We love the energy in this place! They play great mix of old and new music. The food is cheap and good. You can take kids earlier in the evening for dinner, and other times we have gone with friends later in the night for drinks and appies. Ok so this place isn’t a really fancy joint, but it has a really cool mix of retro and rustic décor and if your downtown heading to a concert or game and want to start the night with quick cheap eats and a few drinks, hit this place. The food is good, and the atmosphere is fun, and great customer service. Maybe it’s the music that has the servers in a good mood. I have been there dozens of times, with big groups and small, and have never had bad service. Highly recommend!

Pros: Love the food for the price. Really $ 4.95 for anything on the menu. And its not bad quality food either. Cons: Long wait outside even though there are empty tables inside. Long wait for our orders to be taken. Long wait for food. Long wait to get the check to pay. Basically if you have 2 hours to spare around downtown, come by here for cheap eats. Not recommended for lunch if you only have 1 hour to spare.

The Famous Warehouse is a great place to have a meal in. They have fantastic burgers, tortillas and wings for a pleasant price of $ 5. The selection is huge enought and you can always choose the best meal for you. My favourite is Smokey BBQ Burger which is really tasty and I would recommend it to everyone. I must also mention a «Wings Wednesday». Every week you can have awesome wings of any flavour you wish for just $ 0.25 or $ 0.30 per one piece while 10 wings is a minimum. These Wednesday are really popular in there and the Warehouse is always full. The atmosphere in the Warehouse is informal and not for everyone. You can be a little disturbed by music which is sometimes too loud. The staff is young, stylish and often has a tattoo.
