It was just okay. We dropped in here yesterday for a drink before heading to the NYE celebration. I ordered a cider(only 1 on tap) and my girlfriend got a beer — she was pretty disappointed by their very small selection of Irish beer, it’s mostly average Canadian beers. So yeah, not too impressed there. Our server was quite nice so happy with that. We didn’t eat but the food did look & smell good. All in all, not blown away and probably wouldn’t return, but the location is great so I guess it’s worth a visit.

You’re basically paying for the location, right in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Too pricey considering the beer is not cold. Staff is great though. Skipped the food, as it was way too much money. The Moose across the street is a much better value.

The food here is amazing. I had the Irish lamb stew and felt immensely satisfied. The whiskey selection is impressive, and I enjoyed a few that I don’t often find at pubs or restaurants. However, the menu was a little outdated and they no longer had a couple that were listed. Overall the noise level was a little loud for conversation, but not unreasonably so.

I really like Doolin’s as it feels like an authentic Irish pub. The beer and spirit choice is first rate and the food is quite good in terms of quality and value. The pub is very clean and has a warm and inviting ambiance. The staff is very friendly and you can tell that the place is well managed. If you’re ever in the downtown core, stop by this excellent pub.

My girl friend and I decided to join our guy friends for a part of the football game last night. I didn’t think much of it walking in. Seemed like any other outdated bar, but there were plenty of tvs throughout the venue, so I could see why people might stop by here. My girl friend and I ordered a soda to begin with, and without wasting another second on us, she turned around and walked the other way. I actually wanted to get some wings with that and had to try THREE times to get her attention. When my girl friend finally did, she said«sure» and walked away. We had to have her return to our table again to ask to get a side of blue cheese dip with the wings. Again, «sure» was her response before walking away. She could barely muster up a fake smile. When they came out, they were warm, but not hot, and didn’t have much meat on them. Limp carrots and celery stick to accompany the wings. Terrible food and service. I would have ordered a drink at this point but she was so terrible that I didn’t want to stay much longer. I’m sorry but our server was so dismissive of us that I couldn’t even see myself tipping her. Everyone has their moments, so I’m not sure if we just caught her on a bad night, but I wasn’t impressed. If the food had been better, I might have considered giving this place another shot. Unfortunately for them, there are so many other bars in town with better service, food and ambiance. Why bother.

Tom is the best bartender ever. I came earlier and ordered a single drink. I returned 3 hours later and he not only remembered my drink, but he remembered my name.

This place sucks. They charge a cover of $ 5 per person. The drinks are watered down, it takes forever to get your drinks and this is all after paying FIVEDOLLARSTOGETIN! What a joke! This is all happening on the dirtier side of Granville street so I’d say just avoid this place and find anything else north of here.

We came in for lunch on a weekday around 2PM. A few tables were occupied and a small number of folks were sitting at the bar. After perusing the menu over a pint of Stanley Park Pilsner we ordered the Beef and Guinness Pie and it was superb — just the right amount of savory with a delicious flaky crust. It was served with scrumptious mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables. Our waitress told us they call their chef«Mama» and all I can say is compliments to Mama, this was a fantastic meal!

I ordered a pint of keith’s and a steak sandwich, medium rare. The prices are roughly average, as was the overall quality of the meal… if you like your steak just shy of well done. The waitresses have those short faux irish skorts that appear to make them more self conscious than sexy. Then comes the bill: we have 2 taxes here in BC: GST(5%) and PST(7%) My bill shows a 5.22% GST«included», a 5.22% LST ‘included’ and a 12% GST added. Can’t help but feel that the shaft up the arse was ‘included’ as well…

Ordered a vodka soda in their happy hour and had to ask twice if there was any vodka in it. Ordered a double, same thing. Food? Greasy and heavy. Go find a happy hour somewhere else, there are a TON of other options near by. The waitress was very short and rude when we asked if there was any alcohol in our drinks. Then slammed our food down. We won’t be back. Very grungy place.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I wasn’t expecting much. Husband and I were starving and just went in. I imagined tasteless food that was probably dumped from a freezer bag and heated up. I was wrong. The food was good and it was actually flavorful! My husband got the shepherd’s pie with lamb. He really like the top layers but the middle part with the lamb wasn’t very popular with him. The taste did really blend well. I got the chicken pot pie. It was great and nothing like those pathetic little things my mom use to heat up for me! The pie crust must have been made on the spot and the gravy was really flavorful. I was impressed. Staff was friendly enough but a little busy. We had to get up to get own refill. While the food was good I wouldn’t go back just because it’s not really the type of food I like or regularly eat. If you are not sure where else to go and want something safe. This is your place.

Went here this morning to watch the Ireland –V– England game. The only good thing about it was the score line. $ 20 in which I knew, so that was fine. This was to include a drink and breakfast. Then the problems started. They didn’t get the game on until 10 minutes into first half. Me and my brother ordered a coffee and an orange juice. After 30 minutes we had to ask for it again. Almost half time in the game when we got our drinks. Percolated coffee was served in a glass and the Orange juice was dizzy and sour. Breakfast arrived shortly after. One of the plates was missing bacon, we couldn’t even get a server so we shared the 1 serving of bacon. The toast we were served was toasted on one side and one piece wasn’t even toasted at all. Terribly organised event. Seems like a real cash grab from the local Irish on event days with no proper servers or staff. Really disappointing. Won’t be back for Rugby or any other sports events. Another down side was the carling cup final was on straight after and they weren’t showing it. I’m giving this place 2 stars because I’ve been there before on Saturday nights and it’s fine for a drink and a catch up with friends. Better bars in close proximity.

10 out of 10 would NOT recommend. I arrived with two friends, sat down and patiently waited for service for 10 minutes. We were not welcomed by anyone and were finally noticed after the bartender served 2 other people who arrived AFTER us. We were not offered a menu, and went up and asked for one, and were given a microscopic menu with typical bar food, not what had been advertised elsewhere. After sitting uncomfortably with our drinks for 45 minutes, we asked to pay, and were not given our change until we asked for it. We felt excluded, unwanted, and as minorities. GOSOMEWHEREELSE! We came here because we were told it was a fun downtown Vancouver bar, but it was an awful experience. Take your money and business elsewhere if you are looking for a good or even decent experience.

If you come here, PLEASE, try the Poutine with pulled pork. The place is nice, with this irish style decoration and live music(check for specific dates). The waiter was very helpful and the poutine was delicious. I will definitely come back for more.

It was a dark atmosphere. We sat down and waited for service. After 8 mins of nothing a woman came by and asked what we wanted. Kindly my boyfriend asked what was on draft and immediately in a extremely sassy tone she said oh it’s all right there!!! They had a microscopic menu with words that she was referring to and walked away. My boyfriend looked my way and asked if we were ready. I responded with yes please. Then we came across the FISHSHACK. Very welcoming and amazing service!!! Stay away from doolins!!!

The two food items I had were unfortunately disappointing: Duck Bites($ 8) any duck flavour was hidden by the bacon wrapping it. Short Rib Flatbread($ 10) all I could taste was the sour-sharp sauce on it. What you do get is light-dinner sized plates of food priced at a cheapish ~$ 10, which makes it a good place to hang out for shared snacks and drinking. We had a large party of 30-ish(?) and they did not enforce a limited menu on us, which is sadly the trend nowadays in some restaurants when you have even just 8+ persons. Lousy coordination on our part caused us to more or less all order at once and get our bill at once, so orders and service slowed down a lot. Not entirely sure more waitresses would have helped, but I think they use a system where waitresses are assigned zones, so they had a few bussers helping but no extra waitress for our party it seemed.

I went prior to a Whitecaps game to meet up for the march to the stadium… my first time at Doolin’s. Afternoon game, so went early, and they still had a breakfast item on a fresh sheet(I say… ‘a’ because it was a single item). Scrambled eggs, toast, and bacon. I hadn’t had breakfast, so instead of pub fare… I decided to try a breakfast here. It was ok… nothing to write home about… and price wise, there are more budget breakfast places that would have been a lot cheaper at the same level. So… definitely not a breakfast place(umm… it’s an Irish pub… so, my bad?). I’ll update if I ever end up in here again, and have a different meal.

This pub is a cozy, old-fashioned drinking establishment located on busy street in downtown Vancouver. Stepping inside is like stepping into another time and place– though it’s one well connected to the modern world through an abundance of LCD TVs(all the better for hockey viewing!). There’s a full bar and a good selection of Canadian microbrews on tap. I was fortunate enough to watch Team Canada kick the USA’s ass in men’s ice hockey during the 2014 Olympics at Doolin’s. The pub had opened early for the occasion(game started at 09:00 local time), and was packed with rabid Canadian hockey fans. Definitely the place to be!

A warm and cozy irish bar with friendly staff, good food, with amazing local beer selection. Had a beer with some of the local brewers that have products on tap. Best Indian food I have had since London. The butter chicken was flavorful and the coconut rice was heavenly. The naan bread was so tasty and awesome. will definitely come back next time I’m in the area.
