CIBC Yaletown Branch

Can’t believe I’m still banking here. They never answer the phone’s. I’ve had multiple attempts to transfer money at a certain rate into USD or CND dollars and every time I try no one returns my call until after the Toronto bank is closed so they can’t match the rate. It’s the worst bank I’ve ever dealt with and this branch in particular is manage poorly.

This bank is pathetic. Now I must admit I’m not talking about this very branch location. However my branch I couldn’t find on Unilocal so I’m using this one as an outlet to vent my frustration. In the past the service in person I had received at the Georgia branch was great.
I’ve been out of the country for quite some time and my account has gone dormant in the interim. I was told as I am out of the country that anyone could go into the bank make a deposit for me and reopen the account after which I could have a check deposited for me and I could use those funds. The next day A loved one went in vain and was told in fact rather I have to be there physically in person to make a deposit.
No one at my branch the one on Broadway close to cambie answers the phone.
When I call into the overall company line and explain to people over the phone the situation they are of no help. They transfer me to a manager only to be put through to the wrong department. Only to be transferred once again incorrectly. Only to finally get for someone who has told me I have not answered my security questions correctly, which is hilarious because the account is dormant and regardless of their security requirements it would seem better suited to actually help prospective customers, after which she recommends I come there physically in person to rectify the matter. Despite the fact I have told her several times I’m out of the country. it is apparent that this is the worst customer service bank I have ever experienced. This bank unless it somehow tries to make up for it in a huge way will never get mine or my family’s business again. I do not recommend anyone do business with this bank. The Royal Bank TD, credit unions all have tremendous service. This bank seems to be a front, for what I’m not sure however banking with customers that they actually care about is not it’s clear purpose.
Skip them entirely.
Sincerely someone who’s very grateful to have Unilocal to vent to as I’m quite certain at this point no one from their company would even care that they’re performing so horribly.

Everybody is kind and polite, I would say very professional but bring your sandwich and a bottle of water because nothing is fast… So slow… But what else would you expect in a bank…

The experience I have had with this CIBC branch is that the line ups are usually long and time-​consuming. Having said that when it comes to the the actual services, the tellers are efficient and do know what they’re doing.
I have been banking with this location for months now. Ravi is still my number one rock star! He has a big friendly hello greeting every time and never fails to be cheerful. He is detailed, speedy, and patient. He makes me feel like a valued customer. His customer service is A+. He deserves to be employee of the year AND a big bonus.
On the other hand there is a beautiful young woman with long light-​colored curly hair. She is functional but lacks the people skills. She has no charm and has plenty of snarky attitudes. Every time she provides services for me I cringe. She makes me feel I am contributing to her agitation.
Overall my observation is that the male staff provides way better service than their female colleagues. This includes both the tellers and bankers who have their own offices.
There are four service stations and two ATM. This is a small bank. If you can get your errands done at the ATM, I highly encourage it. You’ll be in and out of there in no time.

That’s the nice thing about being in Yaletown, nothing here looks like a typical bank ;)
As to be expected, they ran out of the red envelopes but girl was still friendly.
Nice round seating area in the middle. 2 atms.

I come in here nearly everyday and everyday it’s the same thing a very pleasant welcome, excellent customer service and always done with a smile. I’ve come to enjoy my daily bank trips. This place is full of the friendliest of people. love it.

So I came here to cash a CIBC issued money order in a CIBC branch. Not some weird personal cheque or draft from Nigeria — a money order from the bank itself. The teller was like ooh my good we may not be able to cash this… really seriously? At first I thought he was joking but he was not.
So after almost 20 minutes of waiting and him going in the back, talking to the manager, I was able to get my 65 dollars and 38 cents or whatever small amount it was. Not sure what he was doing over there. calling the CSIS and the NSA? Or maybe he got out the microscope to verify the watermark on the money order… I guess I really fit the profile of a really bad mofo to get this level of scrutiny.

about avoid the white guy that wants to «bro down» with you. quite possibly the most annoying person I’ve ever dealt with in a bank.
wish this was an isolated incident, but unfortunately it happens every time I get him as a teller. quit asking me 20 questions about my job or my plans for the night, and process my transaction.
the jackass there has almost made me switch branches. it’s that bad.

Every time I come in to CIBC Yaletown, I know I will get these things:
a) a big hello and smile
b) efficient professional service
c) all my banking needs taken care of lickety split.
I also know I won’t be feeling like «I just wasted 5 or so minutes of my day» as is the case in some other places I have to wait in line. Today was such a day, where they took care of 5 banking needs in no time flat, all with a smile and a handshake from the manager!
These guys are the epitome of class, great customer service and laid back professionalism. Perfect fit for me!

This is a great neighbourhood CIBC Branch. Very friendly staff and personal service, the opening hours are amazing (for Vancouver) as they are even open for a couple hours sunday afternoon. Dealing with several banks in the past years in various cities, this is the most pleasant branch I ever had, and that as a basic customer. I switched here coming from HSBC Premier and the service there became absolutely horrible. A pseudo status with no customer service to back it up. Not so CIBC, especially this particular location.
Highly recommend!
