I heard Bibo is authentic Italian restaurant and they have some good and bad reviews. I’m willing to try it out before I comment it. We went there for brunch on Sunday, they were so quiet. We got lunch special, breakfast and pasta. The foods portion at small size, taste below average and plating in freestyle. Won’t be coming back any time in the foreseeable future.

I went here on a Sunday night with some friends. We were STARVING, so the waitress kept giving us bread free of charge until we got our food, and we didn’t even ask for it. I had a pizza, and it was absolutely amazing. Super simple but with the best quality of ingredients, so it was delicious. Perfect size too, even though I was really hungry. The people who work here are welcoming, nice and smiling. I’ll definitely be back soon!

We have tried the pizzas there and were very happy with them. It might be a dollar or two pricier per pizza than other similar places(i.e. via tevere), but the ambience is lovely, it was not packed and the pizza flavours and the dough are really good. Would go back!

If you want a real Italian, traditional, thin-crust, wood-fired pizza and fresh, home-made, Italian pasta, then Bibo is the place to be. Afterall, this is a pizzeria first and foremost, so it’s understandable that the options for other types of dishes would be limited. Having said that, if you do want to eat non-flour, non-grain, then you are better off visiting almost any other place in town. The tuna salad is served in a very tiny bowl and looks more like an appetizer for a five-year old then a potential main course, or even a side salad, for an average adult. The quantity lasts five bites and costs $ 16 — never again, or at least, if they must, take away some of the tuna and add more lettuce leaves and just make it huge, like normal places do. While you’re at it(trying to be normal), try lowering the price by about 50% and then I just might come back. On a different occasion, I ordered the chicken breast that comes with potatoes and vegetables. I was quite pleasantly surprised to see that the portion was generous. However, as soon as I tried one potato, I knew this was going to be another disappointment. Out of almost half a plate filled with what actually looked like home made potato pieces, there wasn’t one single piece that was not raw! They were completely undercooked, as was the case of another person at our table who ordered the same dish. The chicken breast was not raw, luckily, but it tasted like it was completely boiled as opposed to grilled or at least fried or baked. This is probably just a matter of personal preference, but as much as I love chicken, I despise the taste of boiled or steamed meat. I think the Keg has the same size of a barbecued chicken breast for a similar price and it is to die for. Overall, pizza and pasta: 5+ stars; other dishes: 2 – 3.

We went for a late night dinner for 2 at Bibo, and were pleased with the service, and were seated by the open air doorway which was nice. The pizza we ordered was good, however the pasta was not good at all, making the overall experience not great. The atmosphere was ok, but lacked some ambiance and charm for a date night. Perhaps for a casual larger group it would be fine, but overall we felt it was just ok, nothing special.

Tried their pizza several times very delicious. The crust was always perfect. Tiramisu is also very tasty. Nice ambiance and kind staff.

Visitng from Portland, OR. Went on a Wed night when they first opened, so very few people there. Staff was very attentive, food promptly service, all very polite and helpful. Ordered the Margherita and the Pancetta/Gorgonzola Pizza. Food was out in a reasonable period of time and the pizza was outstanding! I grew up eating NYC Italian style(Neapolitan) pizza and Bibo’s is very good. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Arrived just after 5:30pm. Table was dirty, bench was dirty. We waited for 5 minutes before our drink order was taken. Our pizza took ten minutes. Now I know some of you are going to say that I am nitpicking here. Wood burning ovens, should be burning at up to 900 F. Pizzas should be in and out of the oven in minutes. Especially when there are no other pizza orders. That said, once the pizza arrived, meh. Sauce, meh. Dough.meh. No marbling of the char. For being Italian owned and run, these guys have a long way to go to just be on par with VTs or Nicili. Not even close!

A bit better than a solid 3, a 3.25, perhaps, but if I had to rate for pizza alone in comparison to the others, a drop in level. But for sit-in, date material, it’s worth going in for sure. Good ambience, italian theme everywhere. And reasonably priced too. Ordered takeout, told the guy(Matteo) I liked mushrooms and sausage, so recommended the Boscaiola. While more mushrooms, though thinly sliced, and evenly spread. More pieces of sausage than Pizza Carano’s version, but not as flavourful. For the value, it’s there. Good pizza, probably better ones on their menu. Like their extensive menu with pasta so really depends on what your mood, your group of friends, etc. Smart they have day specials, with beer and/or dessert.

As a fellow italian who has made countless visits to italy to visit family, this is the closest I have found to the Pizza in italy. Truly italian pizza made by italians. Its in a great location, its a clean restaurant, and an awesome place to go for awesome food and awesome drinks!!!

We have tried all the Naples pizza places in town, and would put Bibo at the top of the list. I have also tried their gnocchi, and it was one of the silkiest, softest, melt in your mouth pastas I have had. I consider myself a true pizza lover having lived in Chicago, Philadelphia and spent a lot of time in NYC, so if you love pizza and not pizza fads, then you must try Bibo!

The food here was good, but not really so impressive that I’d come back for a reason other than convenience. I had the gnocchi with pesto and that was quite literally all it was. I just found it to be too much of a strong flavor for an entire dish of straight pasta. My boyfriend had the carbonara which was again just alright in my opinion. Another person in our group ordered a pizza which was tasty, but again wasn’t so great that I’m in any rush to go back. Service was very good and we had the restaurant nearly to ourselves which was nice. We got a table as soon as we walked in, unlike the hour long wait at Trattoria across the street where the wait was over an hour(at 8:30 on a Wednesday in January!)

Ay yo The Bibo you better start workin on yo game. You might be able to pass that off for Neapolitan zza in Kitsilano, but I’m not sure you noticed there are a few shops that popped up around town bringin it to the pizza game. Ordered focaccia, pasta fagioli, crudo pizza and the tagliatelle with mushroom sauce. Weak weak weak weak. Pizza was luke warm coming to the table. It lacked sauce. Crust wasn’t that good. Your boy Caspian basically just ate the prosciutto off the top. The focaccia bread was just pizza dough cooked like a pizza, but with no toppings. No seasoning, nothing. Just dry pizza with no toppings. I’m pretty sure the pasta fagioli was just Campbell’s chunky chicken soup. Tagliatelle was aight but all stuck together. Not enough to get you another star. Service was mad slow. Server kept forgetting stuff. Not sure who be runnin this joint, but y’all could take some tips from just about any other pizza shop in Van. Not sure how y’all are still in business. NOT Caspian approved. As for the guy saying folks in Vancouver don’t know what good food tastes like, I call BS. Vancouver has a crazy dope food scene and I been all over the place. Also, just because you’re from Italy doesn’t necessarily mean you’re an expert on Italian food yo. The same way that home cooking doesn’t necessarily mean good. Maybe your nonna was a lousy cook. What what.

Its in our hood, heard it had legitimate wood-oven ‘tastes like Italy’ Pizza. We have family from Italy, been/lived there for small amounts of time — Didn’t want to compare it to our favorite pizza place Via Tevere in the Commercial area, but still wanted to test it out. Went with 8 people. Very disappointing in the pasta — I can make it better. Just don’t order it if you can cook OR have been to Italy(or have an Italian family member who have cooked pasta for you). Honestly, they charge high prices for pasta you would get at somewhere like the Olive Garden(or so Iv’e heard) for ½ the price. The puttanesca is suppose to be made with fresh tomatoes and real anchovy cut up(or canned if you don’t have fresh) NOT anchovy paste so the whole dish smells of fish! Just a heads up too, any real Italian will say its about the actual pasta not the sauce — aka: pastas all dripping with sauce you cannot taste the noodle. The pizza, not the same crust(something is off with gluten ratio or they aren’t using the 00 grade flour from Italy) but the toppings are great quality. The caprese salad is the best Iv’e had in Vancouver because they use imported Mozzarella … its hard to find in Vancouver!(its not, however, the Buffalo mozzarella you eat in the southern parts of Italy but mozzarella made with cows milk. I am confused because it says they sell the ‘buffalo mozzarella’ in house, but about 5 of us have eaten it in Italy. including one chef at our table, we all swore it was not made with buffalo milk) Overall it was just OK and I don’t think I would eat there unless I had just a pizza and I was too lazy to drive to Commercial. I am sure for the average person who doesn’t cook and likes Italian food it will do just fine.

Just got home from a wonderful dinner at Bibo. I was with two Italian friends and they loved it too. We ordered starter platters with meat and cheese and the gourmet veggie one with mushroom, zucchini and eggplant. Oh, so good. The foccacia bread made of pizza dough was delicious. Pizza was good too. We finished with creamy Tiramisu. However, the star of the evening was the aperol spritz. We drank up the orange sunshiny elixir of life. Finished with herbal liquors my Italian friends claim help with digestion but have 40% alcohol content. Whatever the ailment limoncello is the cure! The downside — Its expensive and no happy hours!

Hit or miss. Good pizza, rest of menu is poor. Disappointing service. Been here twice now. The first time was terrific. We ordered two pizzas, a few appetizers, and lots of beer. Worth 4 or 5 stars. My second experience leaves me never wanting to come back. Our pizza was good, but the rest of the orders were 45 minutes after and lacklustre, leaving half the table without their meal. They didn’t offer anything to compensate. The atmosphere was also creepy. The restaurant was empty, and the kitchen staff was just watching TV.

Extremely large portions, with authentic Italian dishes either a hit or miss. Beef carpaccio appie resembled a very tough beef jerkey on a bed of greens, not at all what we were expecting, and very over salted. Prosciutto and melon appie was exactly that, thinly sliced italian meat on cantaloupe; something you could throw together at home in 5 seconds. The beef lasagna was not fresh, and tasted like under flavored cardboard. The kids mac n cheese was simply penne pasta with minimal parm /white cheese, nothing that our kids would have ordered twice. The rest of our 4 Italian family members dining with us found their pasta meals to be less then average for taste, while trying to over compensate with portion size. Maybe we should have ordered pizza, considering that word is in their name, they must at least get that right. Rating of 2 stars goes entirely to the service staff ~ exceptional service with authentic Italian care and quality, that should perhaps be passed on to their kitchen. Our family would return based on service alone, but wouldn’t want to order anything other then wine, and perhaps pizza.

Come here for pizza you’ll never forget. With the wood burning pizza oven and incredible pizza combinations I suggest what my date and I tried(and shared both). Word to the dry pizza lovers-these are slightly saucy but you creations. the Boccone pizza: tomato, mozzarella, pancetta, spicy salami, scanorza and eggplant The eggplant was perfect and lacked the overly wet usual attempts of using his tasty ingredient. I loved the texture which says something about the skills of the chef. The spicy salami added a savory nudge to an already yummy creation. Pancetta & Gorgonzola pizza: Tomato, mozzarella, pancetta, Gorgonzola If you don’t like blue cheese then skip this awesome flavor burst. Otherwise indeed add this to your dining choice. If given the choice this place would be my definite goto spot for pizza. Make a reservation if you don’t like sitting at the bar. I could wish that they asked of we wanted anything further once the pizza arrived(pepper?) and/or asked/refilled water/wine or even the bill/dessert. So if the last bit doesn’t matter you’ll be plenty sated

Came here to check out some Neopolitan pizzas. Based on location, this place must be going head-to-head with Novo. Parking is available along Burrard if you are lucky. The restaurant is spacious, but tiny. There were so many customers that my friends and I had to wait by the pizza oven for 30 minutes or so. They were kind enough to comp us a bottle of their in-house white wine, which was actually pretty good. Special mention. As for the décor, it reminded me of a bare kitchen for some reason. Must be all the white brick they used. Service was professional, and the waiter took the time to explain the different types of pizzas. With that said, it was now time to try the food. I had the porcini funghi(mushroom) pizza. I honestly don’t know what it was, but for some reason this pizza wasn’t what I had expected. I will confess that I was comparing it to the funghi pizza from Novo, which is what I currently use as a benchmark. The porcini mushrooms were a bit on the bitter side, but that is fine. What I found was that the pizza was really, well, bland. To me, it tasted just like sauce on dough. I took the time to try to savour it, one small piece at a time, but unfortunately it simply didn’t do it for me. I don’t want to bad-mouth this place though, as this can easily be the fault of my palate as opposed to the restaurant. With that said, I have never travelled to Italy, so please take this review with a grain of salt. I will come back and try another pizza one day.
