Although the coffee was good and consistent the mall its located in is run down. Once you get inside its clean with s nice atmosphere. When asking for s blend not currently brewed they didn’t offer to make me a perfect cup, I had to ask. The wait staff was super nice though.

First, I am a fan of Second Cup. But I’m glad this is not the first Second Cup I went to, else I won’t think so flavorably of this chain. While the place is not exactly small, the tables and chairs are not as inviting nor as comfortable as other locations. Worse is the restroom. Dimly lit, it just doesn’t feel very clean even if it may be. I even feel that the coffee isn’t as good, though that may just be a halo effect.

WORSTMOSTAWFULSECONDCUP I HAVEEVERBEENTO. The staff are rude. The owner is rude. I used to come here quite often when it was owned by a Eastern European lady. I bought tea, sat down and asked to use the bathroom. I was told by a staff somebody was in there. After ten minutes. I asked a staff to check. Staff stated the key was left inside and he could not check it. I asked to speak to the owner. The staff said owner is not in. Owner appeared from his office just as I finished talking him. Talked to the owner who refused to open the door, Chinese man who barely spoke English. Owner stated there is someone in there. I have just been advised by staff earlier the key was left in the bathroom, but the owner along with the staff kept coming up with excuses to not open the bathroom. I would give them 0 stars, but that’s not possible. … Service is garbage. Absolute garbage.

What is the best thing when hurricane Sandy hits the east coast and you happen to be outside in the evening in Toronto with your brother and bicycles and feel its strength and wetness? A break in Second Cup. We were looking for 20 minutes a place on Monday evening, which would offer cupckakes. Good luck, at that time they were all sold out and the pastry displays seemed pretty empty since College and Bathurst. I am glad we stumbled on Second Cup, as by the time we were really wet and needed something warm and sweet. I have been to different locations around the city, but because of that night, this spot is always dear to me. At that evening you could see few people studying and sipping their hot drinks. Clunk, I wanted that too. It was pre-Halloween and they were offering their special pumpkin pie chai. I had that and brother had a regular coffee. OMG, the drink was so sweet. Beware if you happen to order a nice Nanaimo Bar(big size, good-looking), as I did. THESWEETBOMB!!! Even for a sweet tooth as myself! I was struggling and I had to share my bar with brother, which I never do, as I adore my sweets :) I must say I felt quite sick after, of course my own fault, but a mint gum made the feeling better quite fast. Ups, forgot to mention, that brother had the red velvet cupcake and he loved it. It was moist and nicely sweet. We got energy to step back into wet and windy Yonge. We were struggling with wind to get home safely. We did, but with wet underwear. At least Coffee Time visit made sense ;) P. s. Second Time happens to have a great variety of pastry, so be sure to try their heavenly brownies too.

A lot smaller than the one @ Church and Wellesley. Not many tables available and there are always panhandlers outside. Does the job as a coffee shop though.

I am ridiculously bored while getting my hair-straightened. Hence, why this review has come about. Staff here are beyond nice! They tend to be youngish people and will chat with you gladly. I always get a cheery«hello» and«how are you» when I come in here. The other night, when a mentally ill man occupied the bathroom for a long time, the staff lady girl let me use the staff bathroom. I appreciate how there are tables outside but they are generally occupied by the homeless or some couple making loud smacking noises while they kiss.

Coffee shops in the Yonge and Bloor area leave much to be desired– even the chain ones that should offer the same experience. I’m surprised that nobody has mentioned the particular feel of this location… It’s not great. Drinks themselves are fine. Seating is plentiful outside but not neighbourhoody; seats at the front are few; seats at the back are dark and stuck in a kid of gross discount mini-mall.

Oh Second Cup how I love thee After some Korean BBQ, we were walking down the cold mean streets of Toronto. And I mean cold as in windy. We walked in here to grab a couple of white hot chocolate and when I saw we I mean just me. Mine was too sweet so just a little more milk did the trick. My friend grabbed a coffee like just a good Canuck she is. After sitting down in this rather awkward kind of lay out of Second Cup. We needed a taxi number and for some reason all those catchy cheesy taxi commercials never came to my mind on time. We asked the staff and one of the staff members was kind enough to give us a number. I just love how all Toronto people are just so nice and talkative. Absolutely love that.

I popped in here on a Sunday morning while waiting for the Discount Car Rental office to open. The place was fairly empty given that is was a Sunday morning. The service was excellent, but it was a bit disappointing to have to ask for a key for the washroom(suppose this is a side-effect of the downtown location). Coffee & a hot chocolate were up to expectations, but the hot food pictures(advertised) and what they actually offer were so far apart, I wonder if they have started to airbrush food pics too(Just saying!). Overall would stop in there again as it is cozy and clean inside… otherwise, prefer my Lion Coffee at home.

Very friendly staff. Not too much seating, but I suppose that’s because it’s meant to be a place to stop by and grab something to go. A central location like this; I don’t see many people sitting around. Nice patio seating, though.

Located across the street from Starbucks, there’s this Second Cup. Why would one choose Second Cup over the Starbucks? To be honest, I frequent Starbucks more. But, this location has lots and lots of seating… More than the Starbucks across the street. This is more of a warning. Don’t feed the pigeons. I’m serious! I wandered outside on a nice day to enjoy my croissant and coffee. There was an empty table with an empty chair. I took a seat and noticed a seemingly lonely pigeon peering curiously at me. I ripped off a small piece of of croissant and tossed it onto the ground. Holy crap. It’s like a modern Toronto version of Hitchcock’s The Birds. All of a sudden I was surrounded by fat, angry, and very hungry pigeons. I was terrified! I jumped up and ran away, entertaining all who were seated in Second Cup. The pigeons followed! Almost eating my croissant out of my hands. I ran inside the Shoe Company for shelter. And yes, I bought shoes. I will never feed the birds again!!!

My goal on a weekday morning before work is to get a tasty latte fast. A dose of friendliness is the icing, or in this case, the foam. Unfortunately, this Second Cup doesn’t deliver either. The service here is not friendly or fast. The handful of times I have been here, they have had either too few or too many staff, and most of them have been unable to demonstrate basic levels of competence. They struggle with basic orders and with the cash register. I gave them one last try today and I am done. Plus? $ 3.83 for a small latte in my own cup? That’s not right, Second Cup. Starbucks across the street is 60 cents cheaper AND they give me the iTunes song of the week. You lose.

I was totally craving coffee and I was too lazy to walk to Tim Hortons. 2nd Cup was around the corner from the Courtyard Marriott so hopped in for a latte. The hazelnut latte was too sweet and the espresso was NOT strong enough even though I added an extra shot. I’m not a Starbucks fan but at least their coffee is bit bolder when I add an extra shot.

If there was a war between Second Cup and Starbucks it would be a draw to me. For the life of me, I can never get these places right! Well there’s no mistaking the big Second Cup at Yonge & Charles street. It’s kinda a weird intersection. The Second Cup is like most others. I got a hot chocolate here, they make really good hot chocolates(love their white hot choco). The service is extremely friendly and fast. The only issue I have is the amount of seating available. They have couches, which truth be told aren’t that comfortable sitting in, especially if you have a hot cup of joe, but not too many actual seats. But the whole store itself is kinda on an angle and weird laid out. Maybe that’s why… i dunno.
