This was my team’s go to pub for years on Fridays. We slowly stopped going due to work commitments and this past Friday I went back. Missed the food, coziness, not pretentiousness. Good solid food and great staff. I love the Fired up salads of the day. Everyone needs a local pub. Its a great one!

I stop here for lunch and I picked a good day. On tuesday they have burger deal for 5.95 with the purchase of drink. Given the regular burger in 10 – 11 this isnt a bad deal. So I went with Jason George Burger, it was your standard burger ½ pount(8 oz) but again for 5. 95 that pretty good you can barely get a 4 oz for that prize I had onion rings with my meal and they were really good. They werent over battered or greasy, it was nice, crispy, crunchy ‚ Good selection of beer, it’s a decent size, a medium size pub/bar. Thou I dont know if they can really accomplicate a large group during lunch with two people. All and all a good meal.

Had lunch on the patio. Ordered the jerk pork burger which I thought was pretty good with a nice kick, although the fries were just ok. Service was nice and quick and there’s a pretty good beer selection. I’ve had the hamburger previously and thought it was just ok. Definitely preferred the jerk pork burger.

The standards for a large patio on a beautiful Friday across from St Lawrence Market are low. People are happy and ready to start their weekend. However, the gross mismanagement of staff here puts a big damper on things. There are currently two servers working 35 tables. This obviously translates to a bad experience for everyone. Customers aren’t getting served in a timely manner and the servers are struggling to keep up, and likely tipped poorly at no fault to them. This is a management problem and a big one. This is my third time on this patio and my last. Waiting 30 mins to get a water and 45 to take a food order is just unacceptable. Hire more staff!

Our usual Sunday brunch place was closed for Easter Sunday, so we just went next door as someone in the group made the suggestion for The Jason George. Sometimes after a long run, our brain doesn’t function well and the majority of us just wants food quick as we’re usually famished. I was quite impressed upon entering as I didn’t know what to expect, but definitely was pleased to see the nice décor. Server was friendly, fast and efficient. Plus always came at the right time and cleared dishes fairly quickly after we were done eating. And most importantly offered separate bills for the group without us asking. Always a bonus for the runch buddies. Menu selection was varied with very reasonable prices and they even have vegetarian options that pleased one vegetarian in the group. Beet hash instead of the usual corned beef hash and it looked quite good. The menu also offered non-egg breakfast items which pleased another runner as well. I ordered the steak and eggs which is pretty standard breakfast item, so no complaints there. The steak was a little medium-rare than my order of medium, but I didn’t mind too much as I was hungry and simply finished the whole steak. It was definitely protein I could use especially after a long run, so my body especially appreciated it. Sunday they had $ 5 caesers which normally I would be all over, but that day I was absolutely fine with just water as my body craved for that more. I will definitely return with the running group to change up Sunday brunches and look forward to trying the vast menu offerings.

Dropped in for a quick pint. Within seconds of entering the bar tender was rude. Mentioned it to the waitress and right away she said«did he growl» almost like she knew. Won’t be back(not when you show such a bad side to our visitors from out of town)

Good beers on tap. Did not stay long enough to rate the food. Ambience was average, but it was also a Monday night and was –15 outside, so not many people were out. Will return and stay longer next time.

This is by far the worst bar I have ever been to. The service was soo bad, the waitress was very rude and their beer is flat. My buddies and I went here one day because everything else was over packed. Wost decision ever. We had a jagger bomb and it cost 20 dollars for the damn drink !

Would not come back again. Dirty glasses, homeless looking waiters. Didn’t stay to eat.

Feels like the sort of place that would cook with margarine when butter was the same price at Metro. If you know what I mean.

Super casual atmosphere. Relax here. Unwind & let the day’s worries slip away. Food is outstanding. Prices are reasonable. The service is competent & friendly.

I don’t know how anyone could have a problem with this place. Sure, it may not be 5 star dining — but the food is far better than what you could get just about anywhere else for that place. I went there last night with a couple of friends and bought a cheese burger with fries and a Diet Coke. That whole order only(with tip) only came to $ 12.00 which is only a little bit more than I would have paid if I got the same thing at McDonalds. And I can promise you, the burger was a lot better than one from McDonalds. I highly suggest that everyone in the area tries this place out. It’s truly fantastic.

They know how to pour beer here. So if you like Guinness or similar and not just Labatts Blue this is a good spot. Patio is great in season. I love their dinner specials. Excellent prices. Décor gets by. Service is decent. I would say that the food is better than other pubs in the area and reasonably priced.

It’s a «gastro» pub but I’m not sure where the gastro part is. I guess I didn’t order the right thing. Had the fish and chips and meh. It was ok but not outstanding. Service was a bit off too which did not add to the experience. Chose it because its close to my moms place and she hadn’t been there yet. Can’t say I’d head back there when I return to TO.

Having patio beers is one of my favourite pastimes. I’ve found that the Jason George is an excellent place to do just that. Located across the street from the St. Lawrence Market, their patio is in a prime spot for lounging and people watching. The outdoor area has trees if you like shade and open areas if you like to get some sun. It’s also fairly large and even during busy times I’ve never seen a wait to be seated outdoors. Unfortunately, that’s the only steady piece of the Jason George. Though I’ve found the food portions to be of a decent size(I eat loads of food, I’m in the constant pursuit of tacking on mass), the food quality is a far stretch from top notch. I’ve ordered salads, burgers, sandwiches, all of which have been hit or miss. The service can also be a bit spotty as well. The last time I was there our waiter seemed stressed out and was running around like someone had just stolen his wallet. He read us the specials off of his iPhone which is fine by me(I’m a techy at heart) but that day happened to be rather sunny. If you have an iPhone you know the dilemma, you may as well be trying to read the last line of the eye chart at the optometrist. He couldn’t read the screen and had to duck inside and basically shout them to us at our table. He was able to take care of naming the specials for the surrounding tables, so maybe that was all part of his master plan to save time. If you’re looking for a spot to grab some drinks and relax, I’d highly recommend the Jason George. If you’re looking for a great meal, you may want to consider other options.

Came here a couple of Fridays ago for a friend’s birthday(she lives in the area). Interior décor was decent, as was seating for our group. The food was decent, too — I had the Alaskan Salmon burger with the fries, which was both pretty tasty and filling. Service was good, too, considering the size of our group. If I was in the area again in the future, I’d come again — just to see what things are like during patio season.

We were looking for a quick bite after shopping at the St Lawrence Market and the outside of the Jason George caught our eye. It’s got an amazing-looking patio(it was late-November, so it wasn’t open) and seemed to have a real, authentic English Pub feel to it. Unfortunately, as soon as we got inside, that feeling went away. It’s clean enough, but the interior décor seems a bit run down. It was an odd mix of people inside: families, young teenagers, older folks. We had a burger and a beef vegetable soup between the two of us — both were just average. Nothing terrible, but they tasted exactly like something you could have made at home. The service was fine too. All in all, the place wasn’t too expensive, so if you need to eat, there’s no reason to avoid it. I don’t think I’d go out of my way to come back, tho. In fact, I’d be more inclined to try something else in the area first(and there’s lots!).

I visited this place a few times for lunch and dinner as it was the most convenient option at the time. The patio is really the only place to be as the inside tends to feel a bit cramped but again the view from the patio being a busy, noisy street isn’t exactly all that appealing either. They have some decent beers on tap here though and friends of mine who enjoy dark beers do enjoy coming here for the draft options. They have specials that can be rather interesting and rather tasty although a bit expensive for what they offer. I have had sandwiches and fish n chips here primarily and was satisfied with the meals quality for the most part but they are simple meals served at a higher price point. My favorite thing on this menu has to be the deep fried pickles… I know it sounds crazy but as an app with a cold beer on a warm day it’s a refreshing snack that still has some weight to it. I have heard complaints about birds bugging people and the odd poop mishap but I think that could happen on any busy patio as they are attracted to the people and the food. I will say the service can vary greatly and that is my biggest complaint about this establishment; I have had exceptional service here with a very informative and attentive server making the experience a breeze and I have had the latter end of the spectrum and recieved less then desirable service so it can go either way. This place seems to cater a bit more to the regulars but still it’s a pretty solid place to grab a bite if your in the area.

Drinks on the patio is what the three stars are for. I didn’t eat so I can’t comment on that — I didn’t see anyone eating… I can review the patio. This is kitty corner to the St. Lawrence market and around the corner from the Rainbow cinemas. It’s nice and big and is always full when I walk by which is a good sign. They have a decent selection of beer and the price is pretty standard. **If it’s hot and you are at the Market, stop for a drink on the way home **

A group of work friends decided to meet for drinks, and this is where we ended up. Why? Its conveniently close to the office. Again? Methinks not. The Jason George is your typical neighbourhood pub in every way, from the décor, to the service and food. Except for the fact that its in a prime tourist location, so they feel like they can jack their prices for subpar pub fare. Pints were almost $ 7, I wasn’t drinking anything too high end of exclusive(Blanche De Chamblay). Mixed drinks were $ 6. We ordered food. If you happen to be here, don’t bother. No better than Caseys. Had a turkey grilled cheese with a side salad. Not very good, too much butter(yes, its possible), rubbery cold cut turkey. Side salad was typical mixed greens, unripe tomatoes. Other ordered appetizers, the calamari was over-battered, very greasy, deep friend pickes the same. Verdict. Don’t stop. Keep walking. Go to Betty’s around the corner.
