This place has horrible espresso, like I’m pretty sure it’s just a strong black tea… The atmosphere is nice though. If you’re like me and need a good, strong coffee to wake up, this is not the place for you.

Fantastic café. Cleanest washroom in the city. Excellent décor. Friendly, helpful staff. Perfectly made drink. Of the best in Toronto. Want to know what an espresso should taste like, look no further. Will definitely return here when I visit Toronto again.

I would say maybe 4.5 stars, but I’m giving them the extra half because it is my favourite coffee shop in the West end. The espresso drinks are great, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere feels like a hug from the neighbourhood. I’m not a fan of the pastries, but a lot of people seem to like them. In the summer there is a nice patio, which is always a bonus. It can get pretty packed, so you may have to wait for your coffee and take it to go, if you come at the wrong time. Definitely an invaluable addition to the neighbourhood.

Came back exactly a year from my original review. I was happy to find the place looking exactly as I remember, with outstanding espresso, cozy seats all around and easy going staff. I tried a few of the baked goods this time around and particularly loved the croissant. Prepared the way it should be: a crunchy crust, soft and tasty inside. Awesome! Love the place and will come back more often from now on.

I really like the coffee here. Yummy lattes and some fresh baked goods. It’s a nice place to sit and work on the computer. Big communal table and a fireplace. I’m going to be spending more time there now that the weather is getting cooler. It’s so cozy. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

I spent a very enjoyable hour here on a mild early fall Friday morning, sipping a medium black coffee, eating a good size brownie, reading and checking my email. I was served quickly by a friendly staffer and grabbed a seat by the front window. The place was busy at 10:30AM, but still had some room. I moved to an outside table under an umbrella when I realized it was pretty hot inside for my taste. My coffee was delicious(I didn’t think to ask the name of the bean/blend), as was the brownie, which was rich and chocolatey as it should be. The price was competitive with other eateries in the area. I didn’t stay inside, but it struck me as inviting and cozy. The washrooms are clean, tidy and well lit. The patio area was quite nice. I was comfortably seated, with a few other folks for company. I was reminded of pleasant, relaxing visits in Niagara-on-the-Lake, except for the busy traffic on Annette. :) The free WiFi was fast and reliable. I do wish I had tried the GNEB before this as I’m often in The Junction. I will definitely be returning and will try some of the other stuff on the menu.

This is everything I would want in my neighbourhood coffeeshop. At just a 5 min walk away, we come here fairly often, usually on weekends, most often after our morning workout. Great espresso drinks(vanilla latte is my fave). Their butter tarts are amazing(sometimes sold out too quickly though!). They also serve gelato and sandwiches, though I haven’t tried those yet. A great Starbucks alternative in the Junction/High Park neighbourhood.

Been living around the corner for a year, and finally got a chance to visit this local coffee bar. Love it. But I guess I’m a sucker for exposed brick and wooden tables. Although it’s cozy, there’s lots of seating, including leather arm chairs, two bar tables by the window, patio in the summer, and a communal table in the middle. Free wifi, so made a perfect place to do work for a few hours. I didn’t see any outlets though. They have a wide array of coffees AND tea choices like lattes etc. But ALSO matcha green tea latte(yummm), and all sorts of milk options. Gelato in the summer, so I can see this place being crowded then. Also serves a light lunch with sandwich and salad choices(gluten free and vegan). Their pastries looked mighty yummy too. Will be back whenever I can. Except around 3−5pm. I encountered a gaggle of high school kids that were hanging out here until 5pm loudly gossiping about their current crushes, hygenie habits and the latest snapchat video. When they left, the place felt like a weight had lifted and was so serene, I could have stayed for hours. There’s tons of free parking on Annette and on the side streets.

I’d heard good things about this place from others around the neighbourhood, so I stopped in on a weekday afternoon to see what the buzz was about. I managed to resist the delicious-looking baked goods and ordered a latte($ 4.25), and had to claim one of the only free chairs before I was left standing. The space was pretty small, but that’s typical of Toronto cafes. The décor was simple yet cute, and the seating and tables were very minimalist metal/wood. I’m a much bigger fan of a warm, comfy ambiance, so this wasn’t to my personal taste but based on how busy it was, it is clearly working for them. My latte was amazing — one of the best I’ve ever had. When I don’t need to add any sugar, I know it’s good! Even with how great my latte was, I found the prices a little steep and the ambiance not to my personal liking, so I think my return visits will be somewhat infrequent.

This place is beautiful — lots of light streaming in and a cozy fireplace with comfy chairs. It has a nice olde worlde vibe. The service was a bit slow — there was a long line and only one server — but that was okay on a lazy holiday Monday. The lattes were tasty… but cold! — hence the 2 stars. Update: I have been back several times and the coffee has always been a perfect temperature so I updated the number of stars.

This is a nice and cozy little coffee shop with excellent lattes and cappuccinos. The pastries are also great.

The Good Neighbour is a great spot for a cup of coffee or espresso. They also serve bagels/pastries and gelato/ice cream. Also, if you are not into coffee, they serve tea. Recently I had an unsweetened tea they made to be served as iced tea. It was delicious, and a perfect summer drink. This place has a nice patio and cool interior space. It is best to come here in the mornings or after lunch, as the pastry selection dwindles later in the afternoon. The service is friendly as well. Street and bike parking are available, but both are somewhat limited.

Had a cortado and a brewed coffee. Both were excellent. This is a lovely space with a nice vibe, tucked away on Annette St. I’m really not down with the glass beer mugs for the medium and large coffees, though. I’m also not sure why a Toronto coffee shop would need to use and sell Intelligentsia beans with so many excellent local roasters.

Upon walking into the packed Good Neighbour, it is apparent that this the neighbourhood hangout. It was chilly in Toronto so we were down for a hot beverage, and they have quite an extensive list. The chalkboard details all of the drinks available, and i decided on a vanilla latte, for $ 4.25. Now, my only issue was that it was written on the board that all drinks include tax, now i payed without noticing the $ 4.50 as instructed from the barista. A regular latte without flavour shot was only $ 3.50, i find it frustrating that they can charge 1 dollar per flavour shot, when the syrup is not made in house and is commercially made. Overall, the drink had beautiful late art on top, it was slightly too sweet, but i would come back for the great vibe, and friendly service.

I blogged about this place — — but haven’t had a chance to review it on Unilocal. So here goes : Love this place! Pro 1: It has a fantastic latte. Strong espresso. YUM. Frothy steamed milk. YUM. Combined together — HOLYMOLYYUM . They also have other drinks. I just loved the latte so much, that I ended up ordering it twice. Granted, I’m not a coffee connoisseur so I can’t comment on how good it is except to say I liked it a lot. Pro 2: The customers were laid back and easy-going. It’s one of those places, where you can be dressed however, look however, and you won’t feel out of place. I kind of got the impression that a lot of the patrons knew each other, even if it was just in passing. So there were a lot of «hello» smiles, and slight nods of acknowledgement that makes you feel like a part of the community. Pro 3: The décor is done just. right. The place is artsy. By that I mean, it has a long high community table. A few two-seater tables, a «breakfast/window bar table», and couches. The brick walls, the handwritten chalk board, the art works on the wall — they all add up to a well puttogether, comforting space. Pro 4: Free-wifi. Ok, so this isn’t unique to this coffee shop but you still gotta love a place where there’s no time limit, good enough speed and tons of plug outlets to facilitate said free wifi. I like a place where I can get a couple of hours of decent work done, along with good coffee and a good atmosphere. Pro 5: It’s also got pastries and paninis. And ice cream! Let me repeat the key word here. Paninis. I believe all sandwiches need to be pressed. It changes things. I’m pretty sure it could also lead to world peace. The only problem with this place is that it’s 30 minutes from my house Otherwise I’d be there a lot more often. I wish Mississauga had more independent, neighbourhood cafes. I like Starbucks just fine, but it’s just so much cozier to have a local favourite that can’t be found elsewhere. Having said, I feel like The Good Neighbour would be worth a more frequent drive.

The staff here are always super friendly and I’ll often see them chatting with regulars. The drink I get most often here is the medium coffee with comes with a huge mug. The best way to start a day. They serve a full range of drinks and I’ve come to really like their drip coffee, their cappuccinos and their lattes. I’ve been disappointed by their americanos however and the almond milk latte they serve was too sweet for my tastes. My friends like the almond milk latte on the other hand. They have a big selection of croissants, muffins and pastries which go perfect with a nice black coffee and the two can be enjoyed in a variety of different settings at The Good Neighbour(TGN). The café has some bar seats facing Annette Street that look out through the huge front windows, a large common table with many stools all around it, a set of four leather chairs around a small wooden table next to a fireplace, and lastly a set of standard chairs and squats tables lining the middle of the seating area. A new addition to TGN this summer was their summer patio which despite being on a awkward slope, is enjoyable with a nice choice for the tables and chairs. The patio also has generous number of umbrellas to block the sun which shines down on the patio for the morning and afternoon hours.

This is the best americano I have ever had. Ever. The picture says it all. 2 americanos turned out to 6 $ after tax and the size is perfect. They have great wifi as well. Will definitely be returning!

I love The Good Neighbour Espresso Bar the minute I stepped inside! Where should I sit? By the big floor to ceiling window? Or at the Communal table logging on to Unilocal?Or at the individual tables enjoying my privacy? or better yet those comfy armchairs? Decisions! Decisions! I used my Indie Coffee Passport for my Americano which was nicely made with a good kick. Barista was cheerful and friendly. I would definitely come back to The Good Neighbour Espresso Bar next time when I am in the area. Every neighbourhood should have a espresso bar just like The Good Neighbour!

This place actually surprised me with the setup and the quality of drinks here. I have never ventured out in this part of town so didn’t know what to expect when I was walking here. They are priced very well and all the posted prices are inclusive of taxes. The setup is modern yet cozy(the bar area reminded me of Dark Horse) The Barista is quite friendly and the cups are kept warm the way the it should be. I asked for Cappuccino with an sweetener no problems there. The espresso shot had slightly burnt taste but it mellowed out. Decent Latte art over all 3.5 Stars for the Cappuccino. Surely recommended if you are in this area. P. S. They didn’t have the AC and the interior was quite hot on a nice sunny day.
