Bog standard UK style pub. Food is okay. Service is okay. Expensive as is the custom these days in DT Toronto. The place has lots and lots of room, although it can get super busy during certain«high holy days»(major sporting events, holidays associated with drinking). However, if you get the bar menu, totally order off the bar menu. Mains are $ 5 cheaper.

A nice Irish Pub, after knowing the history behind this place from a tour, this is definitely a restaurant worth to visit. The people are so friendly. They explain any details on the menu. The duck confit I got is so delicious, everything is well prepared.

Now this is a real Irish Pub! Good Sheppard’s pie. Good burger. Amazing chicken curry and great service. Will definitely come here again and try other items on the menu.

A staple of mine when hankering for a perfectly poured Guiness! The food menu is for the most part typical bar food but certainly excellent, fresh and plentiful. Great service and environment. Pjs hasn’t disappointed yet!

All other bars were booked out for the NBA All-star weekend, so we came here as a group of 12. We all arrived at different times and ordered separately — our server kept a good eye on everyone. Had some beers and ordered the beef stew. The beef stew was very hearty — had chunks of beef, potatoes, carrots, and celery — and tasty. It didn’t come with any bread to soak up the sauce, but had the bread from the bread basket. Friends ordered the shepherd’s pie and burger which also looked really hearty. Live music came on at 10pm and it was great!

Had a great time here with my colleagues. Loud atmosphere, but friendly and efficient waitstaff. Food and drinks came out fast but portions were small. Good nachos. Wings and fries were a hit too. Can’t comment on the prices since everything was paid for by someone else. Basement bathrooms were reasonably clean. Place gets busy quick. I’ll be back.

PJs is the closest thing in atmosphere and style to an actual Irish/UK pub thus the large numbers of Irish and UK accents you’ll hear there. This is not a wings and big screen sports place so don’t go there to watch the game. It’s a place to go for drinks and food where the entertainment is the people you are with. I love the food. Best corned beef and cabbage you’ll ever have and they always have daily specials. Older crowd in the day and younger crowd at night and the transition period between 4 – 7 is fun. Waitresses are very experienced, friendly and attentive but don’t tolerate nonsense.

I love this pub. I tell myself, when I finally get to England I’ll feel right at home in the pubs there because of the time I’ve spent at PJ’s. Anyway, it’s just a classy pub full of very classy people. The kind of clientele that look like they’ve been going there for decades, and the bartenders who look like they’ve been serving them for just as long or more. The atmosphere and the service will keep me coming back regularly.

This is of the few places in the financial district with a cozy bit of «personality». I like popping in here with friends or family after work when I don’t want to run into people I work with; the place is hidden in an alley and there are nooks and crannies abound inside, so no «see and be seen» is even possible. The food is standard pub fare, but done really well— I’ve had the duck as well as the crab cakes, and both were very well presented and delicious, with good sized portions and tasty sides, and the staff are quirky, friendly and quick. Would recommend.

PJs is not a destination that I would pick on a weekend, but when you are meeting up with colleagues or friends in the downtown core, it is the perfect homey spot where you can relax, drink and have a beer. No, the food isn’t fantastic, but it isn’t revolting either. It’s standard pub fare, delivered with a personable flair in a great atmosphere.

Yes, it’s an Irish Pub — a good one at that. The beer is there. Service is good. For some reason when I go to a pub I always get sucked into having the fish and chips. This dish at P.J. O’Brien’s was very average to me. The fish was cooked well but perhaps a hair over the greasy line and the fries it was on top of were very average as well. Solid for pub food but nothing special to go that far out of your way for.

Not really a great place for food but they do have an ok selection of beers. only local one is Hogtown though. Had calamari and it really wasn’t great. I was telling my friend that it has a really weird. and he finished my sentence. aftertaste… It really needs about 4 lemons squeezed on it to mask whatever the heck that is. Coming back tmr for a work thing and that’s why we came in for a little recon. I’ll update this after trying more food.

Traditional pub feel? Maybe… It feels a little dated to me but if that’s what that means! I was really hoping to be more wowed by the food. Their menu is really extensive so I’m going to hope that there is better than I haven’t tried. Was not impressed by the crab cakes. Very little crab meat and mostly chick pea. I was disappointed! The only other thing I tried was the sliders which was delicious, tender and flavourful. My friend ordered the veggie burger which she hated. Another friend had a shepherds pie and loved it. All in all we ordered a variety of dishes and had mixed reviews. I’m giving an optimistic 4-star, hoping my next return will be a more tasty experience.

80s music on the PA on the Saturday night we were there, hoping to catch some live Irish folk music so a little disappointing in that respect. All that dark wood and sitting at the long bar near the stage was cozy in spite of the high ceiling. All that space seemed to be used up by the giant projector screen that could be used for corporate functions. A few tables looked to have full meals happening which looked very appetizing, and our curry fries for snacking were tasty and were gobbled up quickly. Nice bar to duck into for a pint and escape the concrete jungle in that area and the free parking nearby right on the street was very welcome.

Very nice pub here in the dT core. Great location and wonderful service when we went for my bfs birthday. They were able to accommodate our group of fourteen easily in the back room for our reZo. The drinks were a great deal and the food was very big portions for the price. It was typical pub grub done very well.

SO and I were not impressed by the freshness of the mussel app — the zesty sauce and garnish improved it a tad. His Guinness sausage was meh and my ravioli was not al dente(pasta tasted a bit rubbery). Considering we were a party of over fifteen, I think it would have been appropriate to have more than one server handling our table. Instead, they assigned one poor girl to us who was left to shout over our heads and demand that we order everything in a certain order. I felt like a kid at the cafeteria rather than an adult at a restaurant. Only impressive thing was the alcohol servings. My wine glass was over half full and his scotch was more of a double than a single.

Nice little pub, this was first stop I had two beers here and they were both good Smithwick was good but combo beers were really good I had foundry and harp which was cider and lager respectively. Definitely a good spot to drink, didn’t try the food thou This maybe a good thing for some and not for others but mixed drink and regular draft beer was same price. Then again you are paying for the same amount of alcohol

Small, friendly pub near King Station. My friends and I came here on a Friday night for dinner and drinks. I had chicken fingers and sweet potato fries. Yum! Can’t go wrong with that, but also nothing special about them either. Apparently, they have two sides of the pub and we were on the side that didn’t have very many people. However, we were told that a band would be playing at 9:30 — 10:30pm, but by the time they finish setting up, we ended up leaving to go to another pub as the place seemed to be emptying for some reason. It was unfortunate! I think it was because there was a hockey game on and everybody must have had tickets! I’d come back here if I were looking for a pub to hang out in the area.

I am a big fan of PJ O’Briens and have been coming here regularly over the last six years. The atmosphere is always friendly and the server prompt. Although it’s quite expensive to have dinner here, the food is excellent, especially the lamb chops and the steak frites. The Guinness here is the main attraction — poured properly and served at the perfect temperature. If like me you find Guinness a bit on the bitter side, ask for it with a side of ‘Ribena’ which is a raspberry flavoured fruit concentrate and gives it a bit of a sweet taste. Evening entertainment is always top notch and the live music on a Saturday night can’t be beaten. I find the hours a bit weird so make sure you call ahead or check their website if you travel a long way to get here.
