The food was okay, but very overpriced. Not a good value at all. The service was good and when I had a problem the manager(owner?) was quick to attend to the issue. no complaints there. To be fair, the fish & chips were good and well portioned and the veg soup was good too. BUT…the first time my order came out — a quesedilla — it did not match the description on the menu. «Forgot» to put the beans into a quesedilla? The chef was either a complete novice or didn’t care too much. I asked for guacamole on the side, which came out white and chunky with veggies. It tasted good, but there was barely any avocado in it. When I sent my plate back, the new quesedilla looked and tasted good, but the guacamole was still very pale… which wouldn’t have bothered me so much if they hadn’t charged me $ 6.99 for it. Yes, you read that correctly…$ 6.99 for a side of guacamole with hardly any avocado in it. By that time we were in a rush to leave and I just paid it without commenting, but it still bugs me that I could have bought an entire bag of avocados from Costco for the same price. Other things I found strange — the«yellow pea» soup was red & didn’t taste like peas and the«pesto» that came on the side of the fish dinner($ 18.99) was yellow and tasted like salad dressing… no discernible basil or pine nuts at all. Too bad b/c they were nice… but not quite nice enough to come back for another expensive hit or miss meal.

A little pricey for the food served, D-lite’s is a good place for a dairy(Cholov Yisroel) lunch if in the area. The regular menu provides a small selection of thoroughly uninspired breakfast, egg, salad, pasta and other options, but the winner is the gourmet sandwiches. I’ve tried a few of them and won’t order anything else off the menu. It’s unfortunate that the restaurant is usually empty, at least in my experience, but service is usually slow: I’ve only seen about three of their tables occupied at once, tops, and therefore there’s only ever one waiter and one cook. The food is consistent and fresh, service friendly and helpful, and ambience nil. Sushi menu options are good and surprisingly filling, but definitely overpriced.
