Such a nice park, the play equipment is unique and well spread out. There are plenty of benches available and it’s a great place to have a picnic. For a million dollars and considering the size of the park there really needs to be a washroom(instead of just outhouses) a few more garbage cans and a water fountain. I have to note there was so much garbage left on the ground here, it’s nasty and quite sad to see that some people don’t appreciate this place.

If you’re looking for the new park located in the Terra Nova area you’ll need to drive down a bit further as the Terra Nova Neighbourhood Park refers to the smaller community park in the area. What you are looking for is the Terra Nova Adventure Play Environment. Continue north on Barnard Drive, turn left when you can’t go any further. Keep driving and you’ll eventually see a dead end. Take the smaller road that veers right. If you keep going you’ll end up at the parking area at the next dead end. This place is great for kids and adults as you’ll see parents really getting into interacting with their kids and actually playing themselves! Check out google maps for more detailed directions:

$ 1 million well spent Richmond! A beautifully created playground and outdoor play area that has a natural and rustic feel to it. Lots of parking available at the north side of Terra Nova and a nearby path will lead you into the large playground that is surrounded by trees. Soft wood chips are a nice cushion for the kids(or you!) as they frolic around. A towering metal spiral slide is something you cannot miss and the beach logs and ropes make for a real obstacle course. If that isn’t enough for you, walk a little further into the park and you’ll find a large field with 3 distinct areas: a swing and tire swing set area, a rolling hill metal slide and(my ultimate fave) the zipline area! There are two ziplines that run parallel so you can race down with a friend! Hold on tight, it can get pretty fast… especially if you have a strong friend giving you a push from behind ;D Again, wood chipped area to soften a fall. Once you’re all tuckered out, there is a picnic table area next to the zipline area. About 4 – 5 wooden picnic tables and there are 2 portable restrooms nearby too! If portable restrooms aren’t your thing, walk back to the parking lot area and there is a small building with restrooms and a water fountain too! Loving this new Richmond addition — never too old to swing, zip and slide around! You’ll see me there, race you down the zipline!!! ;D Note: The Bird Sanctuary is nearby too — a quiet lake with ducks and a wooden dockway to take a stroll around.
