Phở-nominal.(Sorry, couldn’t resist) We had a Groupon for a tasting menu. It came with a choice of soup, spring roll, ham, shrimp cracker, dessert and strawberry lemonade. The soup was very good and was full size. The ham was okay, the shrimp cracker was really good, and the spring rolls were fantastic. Dessert was an odd jelly that«came from something in the ocean». We ordered chicken wings as a side and they were awesome! Service was excellent and friendly. The menu has us intrigued, and we will be back.

Solid 3.5 stars. Good, spacious, low-key, nicer places than the holes in the walls back in east Van along Kngsway, as there’s lots of neon lights here, and actually some vegetation too lol Ordered the lemongrass chicken, tasty but salty. Yet good value, especially with the combo upgrade to ice coffee. Not your typical coffee, actually tasted like licorice. Free parking in back, a rarity along this stretch of Alexandra. And a back door entrance/exit too. Basic, large washrooms. Free wifi, TVs. The nice thing about here is you can sit here all day and they won’t bother you.

One of the better Phos in Richmond. Like the beef or chicken with spring roll. Soup is so-so. Price is ok-hope they wont increase. With parking at the back.

Had I written a review of this place before tonight I would have given this place a solid 3 stars. I’ve eaten here probably 10+ times and I’m not coming back. Now, I’ve lived in Richmond nearly my entire life so I am used to bad service. But I will still leave at least a 10% tip for your typical«uninspired» Asian restaurant service. Which leads me to tonight’s story. I wanted a #17 large, with the spicy soup and made into a combo with coke and the fried chicken wings. Of course the combo page doesn’t list #17 as an option but a previous server said it’s fine and I’ve never had any issues the 7 or 8 times I’ve ordered this. However the waitress said I had to choose something on the combo page and said I can have 18 instead. I insisted I wanted 17 not 18 and this has not been a problem before. She says she will check with the boss — ok fine. The bowl of phở arrives. Of course it’s not the spicy soup. Whatever, I eat it anyways. After finishing the bowl and drinking my coke I patiently wait for those chicken wings. And wait. And wait. And wait. Lady at the counter looks over and I guess figures I’m missing something. I say«chicken wings» and she says«yes coming». And I wait. And wait. And wait. I’ve waited about 15 minutes from the time I’ve finished my phở and I’ve had enough. I go to the counter and say I don’t want the wings anymore. She says«ok I will pack them». How convenient, they’re cooked and waiting to be packed! No apology, no nothing. No tip.

MSG soup had no other taste, dark brown lemon tea taste like Chinese medicine, meat not fresh and overcooked, super deep fried spring rolls

We came here because Cattle & Deer Garden had long waits and we were hungry. I ordered the BBH and was kind of disappointed. The soup had little to no flavor, the noodles were overcooked and the meat that came with it tasted kind of bland. I mean… it was edible, but definitely not something I would voluntarily eat again.

They call themselves the best Vietnamese restaurant in Richmond, which is pretty much false. I mean, it’s decent… but definitely not amazing. I’d come back here again, but only because it’s close to where I work.

My fav Phở restaurant. Their tasty soup base is pretty consistent over the years and is better than anywhere else I’ve tried. They had a fly problem for awhile where there are these tiny flies all over the restaurant. It makes you question the hygiene of the place. It’s better now, but it’s probably because it’s winter and the flies aren’t as rampant

5⁄30 Day Challenge! Only Phở place in the Golden Village area that is open late. To my surprise, this place was pretty good. They have these weird combos where u pick a phở a side and a drink for a discounted price. But the items have to be from a specific sub menu. Took me awhile to grasp what was actually being presented to me. The spicy soup is a must try if you like spice. Pros: –open late –decently busy –good food –prompt service –takes plastic(most restaurants in this area don’t) Cons: –confusing menu Worth a try.

I do NOT understand what’s with all the negative reviews. Then again, I just order one specific dish for take-out most of the time. If you like spicy food, you’ll definitely love #21! I may not be an expert on Vietnamese food, but I know when the my food is great! The soup base is flavourful and their portions are huge! I’ve always ordered to go since this is close to where I work/live. Waitstaff(hostess to servers) seem decent over phone and in person. Oh & their lemongrass chicken skewers are awesome –not to mention inexpensive as well! Owners(a big extended family) are sincerely friendly and take care of their customers.:)

The Phở was less than inspired, but but than no Phở at all! This was in North Vancouver, an area that is not filled with Phở, according to our GPS. There was plenty to it, but it was certainly lacking in flavor. My husband got the Phở sandwich… yeah, I’d never heard of that one, either. It tasted good, though. My daughter had the meatball Phở… again, it was the broth lacking flavor, but she loved it. My son’s dish was pretty good. He had the prawns and pork over rice with side salad veg. The fish sauce for dipping was excellent! He really, really liked his dish and wants to figure out how to make it up on our return home. It smells great in the restaurant. It’s very clean. The service was great, polite, and efficient. The price was decent. If it were the only Phở around, I’d still eat it, but I would drive to another place for that intense Phở flavor.

This is an average, and ok, bowl of phở. It isn’t anything great and it isn’t all that bad. The food quality is ok, I certainly like a hot bowl of soup, but, there is something wrong with the quality of meat they use. It seems pretty hard to chew and has a lack of real taste. The herbs/chiles are a great fresh addition, though… gotta love lemongrass. Overall, the service is fast, the prices are reasonable, and the food is good. There are quite a few better phở restaurants out there but this one is good.

Nothing awful, nothing spectacular. I’ve never had homemade phở before, which I heard is the only time your socks will get knocked off by phở. Food: The bowl was nice and hot, with the requisite sprouts and herbs accompanying. The meat wasn’t in as big portions as I’ve had at other places but my voracious appetite has waned of late so this didn’t bother me as much. The noodles were standard, but very clumped together, which I haven’t had before, and made them a little annoying to eat when they’re more clumpy than noodly. The spring roll that came as part of the set was fine, and had a piece of Vietnamese ham inside too. Service: Polite and fast. Ambiance: Clean! And clean bathrooms! Always a plus in any establishment(Yes, I will not return to a place if they have truly disgusting bathrooms… I go by the rule that bathroom cleanliness correlates with kitchen cleanliness).

So I have to say that I may be biased because I’m visiting from San Francisco and there are phở places a plenty over there. This place though cute and easily accessible from La Quinta across the street didn’t really have anything going for it. The broth lacked real flavor and the meat was kind of tough. I tried some of my brother’s rice plate and wasn’t very impressed either. Their chicken wings were well cooked, however it needed a good sauce to go with it. I did take away one star because when we asked for 4 glasses of water, the lady gave us a pitcher instead. Which I thought was fine since we were a group of 7, but she totally forgot to give us glasses. We poured our cold tea into our unfinished soups and went for the water. After the MSG, you’ll need a few glasses. The only plus was I got a 10% off coupon from the hotel so it cost me $ 6 less than it would have. I don’t think I would go back for a second try.
