First Impression: Visited on a Monday, late night. Looks like a mini sports bar with a touch of class(and cocktails). Conveniently in the foyer of my hotel. Service: I was served by Donovan. When I walked up to the bar it appeared to me that he was avoiding eye contact with me. He continued to serve other patrons, give them bills and close them out and say«Good night» whilst I just stood there. I found it rude that he didn’t acknowledge my existence until he had finished dealing with four separate customers, not even a «Hey, I’ll be with you in a minute». I understand it was probably a little more than half an hour to closing(and it can get stressful) but I was almost ready to walk out when he asked me how he could help me. Atmosphere: It’s a smaller bar, dark as you would expect, two TVs with sports on. There are tables as well as bar stools and some high tables outside on the«patio». Food: None, they had stopped serving. Drinks: Had a Parallel 49 Gypsy Tears which was on tap. Selection of beer on tap was terrible, Stella Artois and two Parallel 49 beers(a wheat beer and an amber ale). Didn’t make too much sense to me but I took the local beer rather than asking what they had by the bottle. Restrooms: Hotel restrooms, I didn’t use them. . Overall: For just over $ 7, it is not a ridiculous price for beer. I can’t say much for the service, I’m not sure if the bartender was just having a bad night or what but unfortunately I was not impressed and left after the one. For a little less than 5 minutes I felt like I was not human whilst I was not spoken to or served. Maybe next time I’ll go somewhere else. Kind of ruined my night.

The Lotus Land Lounge(LLL) is located in the Vancouver Airport Marriott Hotel. I was staying in the hotel — stopped in one evening for an Ale and to catch part of the Thursday night college football game on ESPN — Mississippi State vs. LSU. The bartender was kind enough to change one of the two flat panel HD TVs located at the bar to the correct channel showing the game. There is free Wifi here as well. The bartender will provide you with the code to get on the wireless network — if you request it. Ordered a Canadian IPA — Alexander Keith’s IPA — one of the lightest IPAs I’ve ever tasted. Not as hoppy as I would have expected(or liked) and it was very light in color compared to many other IPAs. It was almost like a lite beer IPA. It wasn’t bad, but I’d not go out of my way to order it again. You can order food at the bar and lounge area here. Service was good.
