I went here after numerous experiences with horrible hair dressers. From chopping 10″ off of my hair when I specifically said just the ends, and dying my hair black when I asked for dark blonde… I was hesitant to let anyone touch my hair. I believe the woman I saw was Mary and she was excellent. I had to get a correction done once, but she aced it the second time around. I LOVED my cut. She was cautious and would rather cut it longer and work up instead of taking too much off. I am sure I will be back eventually. Someone advised me that the guy that works at the desk tends to nickel and dime you, so ask for your hair dresser to ring it up instead. Don’t forget to tip!

This was my first time to Kast Hair Studio and I was told I was going to have a Master Stylist do my hair. They wanted me to have a consultation which seemed odd as all I wanted was some highlights done on my roots, not rocket science. The Stylist suggested to put in a few low lights to give my hair some slight contrast. So she did the highlights and a few low lights then she said I should have a toner. After having all that done she said she wanted to put another toner on my hair and then another cause it was not working out how I or she wanted it. Then when I paid I found she wanted an extra $ 55.00 than what she told me in the beginning it would cost. I left thinking maybe the lighting in the Salon made my hair look darker and when I got in my car I found a big wad of color or toner in my ear, yuck! When I got home I was furious as my blonde streaked hair was now copper/dark brown. I complained and they said no problem they will get their very experienced Stylist to do highlights and fix it. I thought it was OK until I got home and saw orange streaks at my temples and because it was dyed so dark by the first stylist it didn’t lift enough so my hair has orange yellowish UNEVEN streaks. So really I came in to just get my roots and temple area high lighted and they are still dark as the high lights never got to the roots. I also put my hair up a lot and the underside is just as bad. I did not call them back about how unhappy I was after the 2nd visit as my hair feels so damaged from all the stuff they put in it and I would not want another attempt with stylists that don’t know what they are doing to wreck my hair any further. They say they put in hair products that are mild but after all this my hair has NEVER looked or felt worse. I will look elsewhere to get it fixed and have my highlights done in the future WARNING-Visit this Salon at your own risk!

I went to Kast Hair on Saturday to get a wash/blow dry/curls. I was put with a master stylist, don’t remember her name. Anyways, it was a rip off cost me $ 80 for curls that didn’t even last the whole night. She was very slow took her about 1.5hrs to finish. I have short hair and it’s not too thick. After she was done, my hair was so sticky and hard. As a master stylist you would think she would be fast and on point. DONOTWASTEYOURMONEYATKAST, worst experience ever.

I had a great experience. Made an appointment with ease, was promptly greeted and seated, was brought a glass of lemon water and a bowl of cookies and trail mix, and had an excellent hair cut. I didn’t know who I would have as a stylist, but it turned out to be Carol, a master stylist, who was totally personable and sweet. She fixed my mess of a hair-do to my exact liking. Very awesome. I waited to post this review to see how my hair would be the next day after I washed it and styled it myself, as we all know we look amazing walking out of the salon, but when we do our hair ourselves, it’s not always so ‘great’. Mine? Is great! I’m very happy with my experience at this salon.

I absolutely hate to give negative reviews but this one is seriously justified. So yesterday I called around 1pm to see if there were any available appointments for that day. I was in desperate need of a confidence boost and felt a new«do» would be the trick to pep me up. The lady that answered the phone said that they could take me at 3:45. I asked if the stylist was good and she said, «yes he is very good». So I’m like cool it’s a guy, she says he’s great, this will be awesome. So I get there at my appointment time and there is one young woman working in the whole salon. I enter and she looks at me super confused. I tell her I have an appointment for 3:45 and she says ok take a seat(at this point I’m wondering where the guy stylist is that i thought would be doing my hair). Anyways she finishes up with her client and it’s my turn. First off, when I get in the chair to explain what I want(I wanted an asymmetrical bob– about 2 inches off because my hair is already pretty short), she seems like she doesn’t know how to do the cut. This worries me so I say how about we just do a simple angled short bob. As I’m explaining what I don’t like about my hair currently(I had choppy layers before) she keeps interrupting and asking all these questions without giving me time to reply. Anywho, so i tell her I want my side bangs shorter and she’s like ok I’ll cut them before we wash. She straight up holds my bangs out and cuts them straight across. I’m thinking that I’ve never had a stylist just cut them bluntly like that but I thought ok she will probably angle it and soften them later. So we get to the haircut, and she is very quickly chopping my hair off. I’ve never seen anyone cut hair that quickly especially with an angled bob. So it’s looking passable and she starts blow drying it. It’s completely uneven. I’m like«we decided to do an angled bob right?», and she’s like«yeah» and so I say” ok well the sides are completely off”. She trims up the longer side a bit at the front so I’m like k that’s passable. Now here’s where the poo hits the fan folks. She goes back to my bangs. I tell her they are side bangs and should have an angle. She starts cutting them again. And next thing I know… she cuts a huge chunk of hair out of my bangs. I tell her to stop and I start assessing the damage. She apologizes and says she didn’t mean to cut that piece. I tell her I’m done with the haircut because I didn’t want more damage done. I was very nice about it and told her it’s fine and that things happen. She gave me 50% off but I’ll be calling the salon to get all my money back(in the moment I just felt bad for her so I paid it but looking back I shouldn’t of had to pay at all). So I’ll attach a picture of my bangs to show the damage. Also I’ve noticed my hair is still uneven on the sides so that’s cool(note the sarcasm). Luckily, I’m not a major spazz about my hair because the beauty is it grows back! I’m sure this was a freak accident but I will not be returning to this salon ever again.

Decided to try this place after reading reviews on Unilocal. They were able to squeeze me in right away which was a plus seeing as it is close to New Year’s. My stylist’s name was Carol and she was extremely friendly right from the start. I was offered coffee or tea at the beginning of my appointment then proceeded to get my hair washed after explaining how I wanted to get it cut. The hair washing experience was definitely not the best — the head massage was much too firm and I found myself tensing up more than relaxing during it. The actual cut was pretty good. I had only wanted a small trim to get rid of dead ends, with very minimal styling. Carol listened very well to what I wanted and did just that. Also, my hair tends to get tangled quite a bit but Carol did a good job at ensuring that she was gentle with it. Overall, the experience was good but nothing extraordinary. I would recommend this place for a quick cut but not too sure if I would go here for a complete hair makeover.

Unilocal’s description of a 2 star rating is precisely how I feel about KAST. «A-OK.» It isn’t the worst haircut I’ve ever had, but it’s far from the best. I made the mistake of not showing the girl what I meant, and I may not have described it very clearly, but instead of getting layers like I wanted, I got quite a blunt straight cut. It wasn’t really her fault, there was a miscommunication. I’m not good at expressing my dissatisfaction after a haircut, but I did mention that it was a little bit more flat than I had wanted. Also, the hair washing seemed a little bit rushed, and the entire haircut only took at 40 minutes… when usually the shampoo/treatment itself takes about 5 – 10 minutes, it felt as if they skimped on this portion of the experience. The establishment itself was clean, modern, and friendly. Not pushy in terms of product sales which I really liked.

I highly recommend this place to anyone out there looking to get a hair cut. My stylist was very good, and she was really helpful with suggesting trendy and different ways to cut my hair because i wanted to change things up a little. She really made sure she understood want i wanted and did it. I highly recommend this place for guys, it was quick and painless. Everybody in the salon seemed really nice, and the atmosphere was good too.

I’ve been going here for years and I’ve always loved it! It’s under new owners now who care deeply about customer service, they always go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. I usually go to Mary but all the stylists are great. Plus check out the front for awesome deals on products, straighteners, they have a bunch of stuff!

I went to Kast a couple of weeks ago and had an appointment with Charlene. I loved their vibe! Charlene was amazing!, super professional, she asked me questions and made recommendations based on my type of hair. I loved my haircut and I finally found a hair stylist that actually listened to me!(I had experiences before where I would end up with really short hair after saying to just cut the ends). She washed my hair and I got a really nice scalp massage. She gave options of things I could do later on. In a few words: Charlene is my new hair stylist from now on! They have an online system where you book/confirm your appointments. The owner Angela is really nice too! I would go there with my eyes closed! These guys know what they are doing!
