Food was awful, nothing authentic, even worse than the teriyaki place in highway service station. And I felt I was discriminated by the staff because where I comes from.

I tried this place because they were in the Byward market which I visit fairly often. The lunch special seemed like a good deal, so i gave it a try. I went for the BBQ chicken and the noodles. Overall the chicken was well seasoned but the portion was relatively small. The rest of the plate wasn’t very special: the vegetables were as bland as they could be as they were just a bit boiled, the noodles weren’t flavourful and the sauce wasn’t evenly distributed. I might visit this place again as the lunch special is a cheap choice for a student.

Ordered a strawberry green tea and a honeydew milk tea. Very good, not too sweet and still tastes like tea

Came here for take out dinner. Went back to the hotel and opened the bag of food. A moving ant came out of the bag. After, my family and I started eating and a big dead fly was sitting on a vegetable. Very unsanitary. Doesn’t seem like much but everyone lost their appetite. Very overpriced too.

Good Taiwanese food, I had the BBQ Chicken and it was delicious. Definitely a hidden gem at ByWard market for people seeking for Taiwanese food!!!

I got the chicken noodles and it was really bad. I couldn’t even finish the whole thing, even though it was not a big platter… I’m no connaisseur in terms of noodles, but my advice is: don’t come here.

My honest opinion? Don’t eat here if you want authentic food. My lunch special — bbq chicken with noodle soup was barely decent. The chicken seemed to be cooked in a slow cooker which destroyed the texture and flavour and made it dry. The noodles seemed like pre-packaged noodles just boiled and dumped in soup. Yikes!

I love soup. I am a soup junkie whether it is Minestrone or Phở — I have a soup dependency. And what better way to chase the Canadian cold away than a hot bowl of won ton noodle soup? Ehh. It was just OK. I liked the Won Tons, but the broth tasted like a canoe trip — too close to water. My egg roll was burnt — and was just OK(how do you burn fried food?!!). So overall, great wontons, friendly girl behind the counter — and bland everything else. However, I did see the ‘popcorn’ Chicken that everyone raves about — and folks were a’chompin’…

My go to dish from here is the $ 7(after tax) popcorn fried chicken whatever the name is. They give an generous portion and the flavour is intense and well seasoned. I’ve had one other dish from them and it was the fried fish ball and it was so hard to chew, it was almost like rubber. Very mixed feeling about this place because of that but they seem nice

we went to this place because of «Taiwanese gourmet» on their menu. We ordered 2 lunch specials(Pork-Chop with dry noodle). Pork-chop was dry and thin and tasted like leftovers. The dry noodle was like the noodle with soy sauce paste. I am Taiwanese, and I know what Taiwanese gourmet should be. Very disappointed at their food. Won’t come back again.

Mediocre food and a boring menu. Not good value for the price. Good for a super lazy Chinese meal, if you’re craving.

really liked this place. The braised pork rice was really Chinese(I’m Chinese), although the restaurant was a little crowded. Price was reasonable. I’m sure I’ll go another time to try different food there.

Not bed as a snack bar(I’m not quite sure this is the right words to describe Xiao Chi Dian, hehe) Like the Wonton soup and Lurou Fan. But I think they put too much monosodium glutamate, not very healthy.

sorry have to write a bad review. but the noodle was undercooked, soup was bland, and its mixed with raw bean sprout. omg… the soy chicken was not fresh… and the taro bubble(the purple one) was just okay… so for this kind of foods its definitely overpriced… its 6 dollar something for just the noodle and 13 dollar something for the combo with spring rolls(frozen spring rolls for sure) and drink… i dont recommend this place. i prefer eat instant noodle next time, at least i can make sure that the noodle cook properly…

It’s a Taiwanese noodle house inside the Byward market. I used to studying in the Second Cup on Rideau St. and always saw a retired librarian sitting in the café and sketching cartoons. One time he came over me and asked me whether I know Wang’s Noodle or not. I quickly realized that it must be a Chinese restaurant near by. He told me that he always grabs something to eat there every two or three days after his retirement. This story was the reason that I decided to have a try. I love the sea-tangle there and beef with rice or with dry noodle. The owner is a mid-age Taiwanese male and he is always very friendly. When I was living in downtown, I ate out at this noodle house once a week and I still love going back.

This place was ehhh. It was inside the Byward Square Market. I got my noodle soup to go and it wasn’t that good. Not enough meat in it and a lot of bean sprouts and veggies. :(

I liked it. I got so much for so little. I got a giant plate of veggies, bean sprouts and noodles and a springroll for under $ 10, it was really tasty once I drenched it in rooster sauce, was good without it too though. I couldn’t finish it, not even close. My boyfriend got a Taiwanese popcorn chicken and it was REALLY good, it was like little pieces of popcorn chicken with green onion and a sauce on it, I might get it next time. I also had a taro bubble slush. But it was really bad. Try the Taiwanese popcorn chicken and noodles, avoid the bubble tea.

I’ve come by here twice and both times the food wasn’t that great. The noodles were mediocre for noodles let alone Taiwanese noodles. For the life of me I can’t remember what sides I ordered from here! If you don’t really like this place, please don’t let it sway you from trying Taiwanese cuisine as they have some fantastic food. I felt the quality of things that ended up in my bowl extremely cheap and it really lacked flavour. As with most of the places inside the Byward Market Square there is a premium on a bowl of noodles that costs $ 4 – 6 in most other major cities.
