Spin Dessert Cafe

I ordered the pizza last time I went and it was slightly under cooked. I also tried a waffle and it was delicious! The ambiance is okay although the décor could use some updating.
They have a lot of seating which is great for big groups but the service is slow.

The food was great :) however the air was stuffy and the lighting was too dim. It felt like I was in a basement.
Please change ur lightbulbs.

Service has just been getting worse since it first opened. The place ran out of cups for drinks/​water, AC is never working, service very slow, staff were all over the place. Very unfortunate that this place has become like that! Was a great place to go for dessert when it originally opened

So I returned here recently with 2 of my friends. I had a better experience this time than my last visit so I’m bumping my rating up by 1 star.
We were there late afternoon on a weekday. I had already had lunch, so I ordered a dessert crêpe. I got the «On the Floor» ($ 11.25) which was pistachio ice cream in a crêpe with chocolate rice crisp balls and salty pistachio nuts sprinkled on top. It also came with a side of warm chocolate sauce and 2 dollops of whipped cream.
It was so rich and delicious. The ice cream was so decadent. The crêpe was buttery and thin. The salty pistachio nuts and the sweet and crunchy chocolate covered rice crisps added nice texture to the smooth and creamy ice cream and crêpe. I really enjoyed my crêpe.
My friends had not had lunch yet so they ordered savoury crepes. One friend had the «Thai Express» ($ 10.99) — chicken, cucumber, carrots, bean sprouts, sesame seeds and cheese in a Thai sauce. He said he quite enjoyed it, although commented that there was a lot of cucumber in it. My other friend had the Spinach Breakfast Crêpe ($ 10.25) which was filled with eggs, mushrooms and spinach. She also said she enjoyed it.
There was only 1 server (the receipt said her name was Jenny) and she was really busy, but she took it all in stride and was really efficient. She even came by to refill our waters and check up on us. In my last review I was unhappy about the service being so slow, but it was much better this time. I asked the server if they usually have more staff and she told me that during the day they only have 1 person working, they have more staff only in the evening. I really think they would benefit from more staff during the day.
Truth be told, we only came here because the place we were going to go to was closed, but I’m glad I gave this place a second chance.

My girlfriend and I checked this place out with a couple of friends. We had heard a lot about it before hand and thought it would be nice for dessert.
Unfortunately high expectations may have hurt this review. From what we heard we thought it would be a bit fancier. It’s got a nice diner feel. The servers were nice and everything.
The cheesecake was delicious. We tried the strawberry cheesecake I think it was. It was phenomenal I would order again for sure.
I washed it down with an Irish coffee which was also very delicious.
My only knock would be the price. I thought for the price we paid we didn’t get a lot of cake. But be assured the cake was so good. I would go back.

Spin has delicious desserts! Absolutely love it! The only weird thing is the staff looks overworked and sad, hence the vibe of the place isn’t the happiest. Slow service as well. The 4 stars are only for the desserts!

I have really only had dessert here so my review applies to that.
Sundaes on a waffle or crêpe are right up my alley. There’s all sorts of flavours and toppings. They are happy to customize your order.
I’ve also had cake and chocolate lava cake. All delicious.
Portions are huge, so come hungry. (2 scoops of ice cream will get you a portion the size of your head)

Kids loved the desserts. One had a Belgium waffle with Apple compote, cinnamon, graham cracker and vanilla ice cream. Ice cream is not the best. Other dessert was a Belgium waffle with chocolate sauce, ice cream and brownie bites. Also had a dessert drink which was OK.

Came in here after dinner for some dessert! My friend and I split the strawberry & whipped cream cheesecake. it was to die for. It came with strawberry ice cream on the side! Our server was so nice as well! What a great experience! Can’t wait to go back!!!

Fantastic desserts! The ice cream sundaes (1 scoop) are huge and there’s a huge variety. The cakes also look fantastic. The service was meh, but I think our waiter was just having an off day (missed a couple of toppings). He was very helpful in deciding what to choose.

Spin is a great new dessert place in the Byward Market. It is spacious with warm, inviting colours and great for families. There’s a lot of intimate areas for dates as well. Customer service is great, people are friendly and attentive.
As for dessert, the ice cream was incredibly delicious. I’ve tried pistachio, salted caramel, piña colada, chocolate, and banana cream pie and they were all good. I love the ability to customizable the desserts with our own toppings. There’s also a variety of delicious fruity, alcoholic drinks, coffee and cake. This is a great dessert place with lots of variety for all dessert lovers!

One time I walked by spin when I was hanging out with my friends at Byward Market. I didn’t bring my wallet but just wanted to check out Spin Dessert Café because I’ve never been there before. When I was there I was talking to the owner about how delicious the peanut butter cheesecakes looked but my wallet was not with me. To my surprise, she just gave a piece to me for free! The next time my friend and I went to dine at Spin. I ordered a strawberry waffle with ice cream and my friend ordered a savoury crêpe. Both of the orders came fast with high quality, and the server was very nice. The environment there was really clean and cozy (with my favourite colour as the theme colour, and the fireplace, etc). With a huge stomach for dessert, my friend and I also enjoyed their diverse-​flavoured ice creams (strawberry, mint). I recommend this place to everyone.

I like this place. Good deserts. Good coffee. The atmosphere is a bit weak, it’s a bit cold and not inviting feeling. But the service is great and the food is great. Needs a Reno to be a cooler place to want to hang out at with friends.

Amazing dessert place. I really enjoyed the lava cake with the scoop of delicious European style ice cream. Great location, great tastes, great prices, friendly people. Lovely date spot :)

This little café is located near the ByWard Market and if you are walking directly from where the packing lot is, you will be going through a square area with 3 condo buildings! It has a scripture there and I thought that area was super cute!
As I walked into this restaurant, I was impressed by how big this café shop is and it was also decorated nicely. Then I see a LOT of desserts on display but unfortunately, I was too full, so didn’t try any. As I always mention in my reviews, I am a big coffee guy, so I ordered a latte. Although the wait was long on a weekday night, but admiring the design of the chair did help kill a lot of time. I think the wait time for the coffee was 6 minutes?
The latte was smooth and I liked it because it wasn’t super strong, so very easy to take in! There are a LOT of café and dessert places in the area, but should really drop by here one day to check them out!

This is an amazing dessert place. We had the caramel chocolate ice cream in a crêpe, which was delicious. There was a huge amount of incredible and rich ice cream, inside a tasty crêpe, with lots of caramel sauce to pour over. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and the service was friendly and fast. Also a huge amount of dessert for the price. Can’t wait to go back!

The service is really slow. I was disappointed in their hot chocolate and the second size was small. I didn’t like the raspberry cheese cake that my husband ordered. The texture was weird. However I did enjoy the crêpe that I ordered which was named: you make me wanna.

Great crêpe & chai tea latte! Definitely would go again to try other items on the menu.

Good dessert: waffles, crepes, ice cream. Good service and nice place to meetup over dessert/​coffee. Near byward market.
