Flew in from San Diego on vacation and wanted to ride around Gatineau Park. This was the only place I could find that had decent quality road bikes(Giant TCR Advanced Pro 1). I called them the morning of my ride to reserve the bike and requested for SpeedPlay pedals to be installed. Upon arrival, the bike was set aside with pedals installed. I got on the bike, did my self assessment for the fit and they adjusted it accordingly. My only issue was they were not capable of adjusting the hoods(rotating them inward), but it was manageable. For that bike(not sure if it applies for all), there was a $ 300 pre-authorization charge on my credit card… not an issue for me but be aware of that. 40 miles and $ 70 later(cost of the rental), I was satisfied with the overall experience with the bike rental, the staff, and scenery. Check out my route on Strava: There is a lot of scenery, so take your time and enjoy it. If you’re renting here: –Know your bike measurements(stack and reach) for a quick fit –Bring your cycling gear(kit, gloves, shades, shoes, etc.) –Bike computer(don’t forget the mount… had to buy one at MEC) –Water bottles/Nutrition(also purchased at MEC) –They’ll have helmets, bottle cages, and tool bags included with your rental.

Excellent location, good selection of bikes at fair prices. If not renting a comfort bike for path, highly recommend bringing your own saddle if doing longer rides on performance bike. They don’t provide lights and some bikes don’t have bells, but they do provide locks, bags to carry stuff and helmets if you wish. The tall old guy is rude. Avoid him, if possible. After a few hours on a pinchy bike seat on a performance hybrid, with no offered seat option, I asked if they could switch in a more padded seat from a comfort bike to put on the performance bike. He said ‘you are already wearing lycra, padded shorts, and you spent half an hour yesterday getting served. Unless you are renting for a month or buying the bike, your choice is to take this bike or this bike’.(it was my first 24hours of a week long rental — both bike options same flat pinchy saddle which I tried — the half hour I was at the shop the night before was for me to test ride 3 different bikes for a few minutes each — no bike fitting adjustments or personalization service beyond selecting s or xs and men or women’s version, and there seemed to be no customers when I was test riding since it was at the end of the day but before their closing time). I ended up taking a comfort bike the second day(great for path riding) and then ended my contract early and saved $ 30. The other staff are nice, but I will also shop around if I am going to take a week long rental next time.

Great place to rent a bike and ride down the canal. Hidden under a bridge in downtown Ottawa, they have hundreds of bikes for families visiting Ottawa. My kid really wanted to ride a bike to the World Cup match at Landsdowne park, and they were flexible enough to make it work without any hassles.

I needed to be in Ottawa for about a week to attend a couple of conferences, and wanted to be sure that I could do a little bit of training for a big ride back home later this summer. I contacted these folk by e-mail and they quickly responded with a reserved bike(one of the 21-speed Giant Defy all carbons). They were extremely helpful in changing the date of my reservation several times to accommodate my schedule and the weather. I brought my own helmet and shoes with Shimano SPD cleats, and they provided SPD pedals, a portable pump, and a seat bag with tools and flat repair kit. Cost $ 70CDN for 24 hours and I managed to fit in two rides(one quickee for ~10 miles and a longer one of ~30 miles out to Gatineau Park and back. Overall, superb service and incredibly convenient to the downtown area(I was staying at the Westin, practically across the street from this business).

Rented bikes on Victoria Day Monday. Nice light 21 speed«Giant» brand bikes. Good working condition(eg. gears and brakes worked well). Helmet, lock, bike map included. Seem to have a pretty You leave your credit card number then they charge you for the time used. Cost is $ 9/hour, we were gone for one hour 45 minutes but they only charged us for one hour and a half(rounded the time down). Upon asking for washrooms we were directed to Château Laurier… not sure if its reasonable to expect washrooms there(Its right under the East Plaza Bridge, near the Château Laurier of course).
