If you’re looking for fresh and extremely delicious Lebanese pastries then look no further! I have been coming here for 3 years, and before I lived in Ottawa it was a place I had heard amazing reviews for. Now whenever I go back to Toronto I have people request that I bring several platters of freshly made desserts from this place. I always received good customer service when I go there, it is nothing special but the people are nice and they are knowledgeable about all the desserts. If you want to know how something tastes then you can ask for a sample. I have sampled all the desserts they have, but never their wedding cakes(they offer that service). My favourite is Knefa, a cheese and semolina crusted dessert topped with lots of Atyr(simple syrup). You can get it on a plate or in a small Kaak bread(round pita like bread that is thick and covered in sesame seeds). It is also a breakfast item for some people, I could eat it at any time though :) their knefa tastes amazing, and very reminiscent of one you would find in Lebanon. I also thoroughly enjoy their Halawet Al Jibn rolls(cheese dough roll that is heavy on the simple syrup and filled with ashta cream, sprinkled with pistachio). They are the best in Ottawa.

I have been buying pastries here for quite a few years. Everything I’ve tried has always been very fresh and made in store. The store also makes some butter cookies that remind me a lot of the«holiday cookies» or butter cookies made for many holidays. Their cookies are great and very fresh and a plus is they always have so many kinds and they are sold by the weight– great for guests if you do not want to do any baking yourself. there is also some middle eastern date and nut cookies. Also this small shop makes sorbet and gelato during the spring and summer. They only use natural ingredients and the sorbet has real pieces of fruit in it. This is also one of the only places you can try Lebanese ice cream called Ashta– it is made with a kind of tree gum and has either almonds or pistachio in it. One thing I really like is that the store is nice with letting you try the different ice creams before you get a cup and their prices are very good too!
