If you like chicken wings this is the place to go! Great selection of wings. I went for Frank’s Baked and was not disappointed. Lots of flavour and large size wings. My boyfriend wanted the hottest wings and went for Hellfire. Menu says«no refund» he said they were hot but had amazing flavour not just scorching burning hot wings he usually gets at other places. When he finished the order the waitress said congratulations, not many can finish an order of hellfire. She then gave him a FREE T-shirt that said«I went to Hell and back at Monaghan’s» Very cool place — great wings!

This was a difficult dining experience. Waitress gave us attitude from the beginning and was missing for most of our meal. At the end of our meal, we were told we couldn’t take the rest of our wings out in a takeout box. We asked to speak to a manager who and was condescending and rude to us only reason being that we were students. Monaghans is right next to a college and relies on the business of students. Stop being disrespectful towards them.

I was craving wings today and decided to go to Monaghan’s for their Wing night. I decided to sit closer to the bar/kitchen area this time. My experience was completely different tonight, despite having the same server as last time. We received menus almost immediately after sitting down. Drinks came fast, and though the food did take a bit of time to come out, the overall experience was good. The wings and fries came our delicious and fresh. The place had more waitresses on hand then before, so as we finished up plates other waitresses came by to take out empty dishes. This time around, we were able to get our bill and pay by credit a lot faster. I’d like to give today’s experience 4⁄5. That said, I really think it depends when you come here, where you sit and which waitress you get. Factoring my previous experience, I’m giving them a 3⁄5.

Beat service around! The wings are awesome and I your looking for a place to just hang out with friends and shoot a game of pool this is a great spot. Everyone is friendly even the security they have there in the evenings are great it’s a big step up from the last company. All in all I would recommend this place to everyone. It’s a must try if you haven’t.

Visited here for a weekday lunch after the restaurant we wanted to visit was closed down. We didn’t have a lot of time to eat and this place was close by. I wasn’t expecting much because the place is huge but was almost empty. I had the greek chicken wrap with a house salad. Surprisingly, it was really good! Very generous amount of chicken in the wrap and the salad was quite fresh.

Mediocre pulled beef greasy chips. My son liked his wings but I though they were just ok, thick sauce but crispy. Service was good, prices average.

I’ve had two terrible experiences here: The first was being in a group of 10 with no one else in the bar, we didn’t receive any initial service until sitting for about 15 – 20 minutes and after we had just ordered drinks it was another 15 minutes to just place our food orders. The servers at this restaurant are just atrocious with the behaviour they have towards customers, never smiling and just giving off a «I don’t give a fuck» attitude which is just unacceptable for any establishment. Their food for that matter was just«Okay» best wings in town may be an overstatement. The second experience was mind blowing because we tried to go for a friends birthday but the birthday boy himself was denied entrance because he was 21 and only had his passport. Apparently, this establishment has a rule that after 9pm people 21 and under need two photo ID’s. I find this very appalling for a average sports bar to ask for two pieces of ID especially when one of them is a Canadian Passport. And this was also very strange to me, because the first time I went they never enforced this rule. Terrible management in my opinion to turn away a party of 10 for someones birthday. I feel bad for the servers who were going to get business especially no one was in the bar at that time. After being turned down, we went to the shwarma place in the same plaza(Who were fantastic and accommodating) a few of the bouncers decided to follow and stare at us while we were having a great time. It’s funny to think that they need to hire bouncers because their place is that popular, and rowdy. All in all, I would never recommend this place. If you want something to go, go for it. But if you want to sit in, be prepared for terrible service.

It sucks in my humble opinion. First the entire place is entirely way too brightly lit to offer any sort of comfortable ambiance. The beer selection is limited at best. Canadian and Moosehead is pretty much all they had on tap. The wings are ok but the burgers are terrible. Its expensive too. I can easily think of at least a dozen better places to go in Oakville.

They do not do take out anymore. Chate individuals. Also they close the bar for certain occasions just for the owners. You guys complain about the students. The real problem is with the management and ownership. Customers come last. If I could give a negative rating, I WOULD.

This place has really gone downhill over the past few years. It looks like a bomb went off in the middle of this bar, seriously, its a real dive. Looks like its in the middle of a war zone. Everytime I come here its empty, and things are falling apart. Rats are probably running around in the back kitchen. This place caters to a lot of regualrs, and many from Sheridan college across the street. Sometimes they have a guy with a guitar and its so loud that you need to shout for anyone to hear you.

Located across from Sheridan College you can expect to see alot of students hanging out here. I used to come here when I was in college and just recently came back a few days ago. They’ve updated the Tvs and now have GIANT flatscreens on all the walls. Alot of seatting. Friendly waitstaff. Typical Bar food– love their fries! Sunday night is Kareoke Night!

Its a huge statement when underneath a restaurant’s /bar’s signage, it states«Best Wings in Town». Specifically when it isn’t true. Monaghan’s has been around… forever. The place is immense with a number of pool tables, tables/booths, flat screen TVs and clientele that really should have their IDs checked. It had been two years since I’d been here last and before that, it was the late 1990’s and nothing has changed. Being directly across from Sheridan College, one can expect students to be Monaghan’s bread and butta’, but I’m not so I guess I was secretly expecting… more. Nope. I went with a buddy and ordered 30 wings and a pitcher for $ 35. F&@* me! When I was a whippersnapper you could get the same order for… well…not half that price, but not much more than that. My buddy also ordered fries, as they were not included; not even the ubiquitously lame celery/carrot/blue cheese combo. Pitcher of beer came out in a flash, as did the 3 flavours of wings we ordered: Lemon-pepper, Frank’s baked and«medium». There are several other available, but I tend to shy away from a ring-o-fire, if you catch my sphincter. Even the menu states that orders of hot-flavoured wings can not be returned. Wings came out just as fast as the beer… but the fries were forgotten. Not in the kitchen, but never ordered. The lemon-pepper wings had nice flavouring, but overall the wings lacked a certain chutzpah. The medium and Frank’s were exactly the same, except one was«glossier» — as Frank’s was baked, my money was on the medium-flavoured as being the shiny culprit. Half were dry, half were not. Just inconsistent. Fast forward to the bill — I was given a customer copy and merchant copy, but neither had an itemized list of what I was paying for. I know the pitcher/wings were $ 35, but were the extra fries, another pint and a coke really another $ 20? I guess so. If that’s the case, this place is overpriced, too. Or the HST really is a Muthaflippa. I hear the place gets absolutely jammed during playoffs, Olympic gold medal games, etc., but I don’t forsee myself darkening the threshold of this establishment again.

GENERALNOTES Despite being overrun by loud, obnoxious and very young college students, this is one of my favourite bars in Oakville. Then again, there aren’t many bars in Oakville. Monaghans stands out for it’s very good(but basic) menu and good deals. Monday is 50cent wings, Tuesday is $ 1.70 jumbo ribs but the real standout is the wing/pitcher combo. Sometimes they have karaōke or a one man band. You’ll want to avoid those nights. MENURECOMMENDATIONS In terms of wings, I’d go for the Monaghans Own or Franks Baked wings. Both are baked wings(no sauce), the Franks Baked is basically Franks Hot Sauce and the Monaghans Own is Franks and lemon pepper. The ribs are very good, some of the biggest, meatiest ribs I’ve had. SERVICENOTES Service can be a bit slow, as can the servers. Generally speaking, these aren’t the most sharp girls, but many of them are physically blessed, which is kind of a sports bar prerequisite. One thing I do appreciate about the staff is that they’ll actually save you wings or ribs if you call ahead(they definitely run out of ribs every Tuesday so you’ll want to call ahead or arrive before 11 or so). LOCATIONNOTES Huddled in a smallish plaza on Trafalgar across the street from Sheridan College. HUMOUROUSSTORY I’ve been there to watch a very young, very out-of-tune guy try to woo a table of girls with a very brave performance of a Justin Timberlake song. Sometimes, bravery is a cock block.

It’s a 4 star bar but the crowd makes me knock it down a peg. On weekends you fill usually find it filled with people you wish you weren’t in the same space with. The time to go is monday night(wing night) or tuesday night(jumbo rib night). They have great wings and the jumbo ribs are only $ 1.79 each and we’re talking flintstones style big ass ribs here. They also have a sweet deal that’s 30 wings + a pitcher of beer for $ 36.
