Super glad I found this place. I tried the veggie sandwich and a daily feature sandwich which was roasted red pepper and Brie cheese. Both were incredible and extremely filling for $ 8. The bread was super fresh which I think made both sandwiches. I found out the hard way this place is closed on Sundays and Mondays when I tried to return. This place is worth going out of the way for when you are craving a good sandwich.

Simply the best sandwiches in Vancouver, hands down. Fresh, simple ingredients and the bread is to die for.

It was okay. While it was a nice ham and cheese baguette it was simple. Nothing special for the price that’s for sure. Good quality fresh ingredients. The place is tucked away and not easy to find, it is very small and the girl working at the register was very lacklustre and not particularly personable or friendly. Not a bad place at all but there was one person before me who ordered 2 sandwiches and I wait for 13 minutes. A little frustrating for a baguette with ham, cheese lettuce and mayo…

These sandwiches cannot be beat! Is this one of Edgemont Village’s best kept secrets? All the locals know about it– indeed you will have a short wait at peak lunch times, but it is totally worth it. Fresh ingredients, but to me the best part is the freshly baked baguette– delish! Lots of other Italian deli-type goodies to get as well. This place is a neighbourhood gem.

Famous for the sandwiches, which are very good. The secret is the bread. Yummy. That said, the long line ups and the latest price hike have taken this place of my recommended list. Food is good, but not good enough to compensate for the wait and the cost.

I stopped by based purely based on Unilocal recommendations. I had just spent a few hours at the suspension bridge park and wanted quick sandwiches. I saw two spots, this and the Meatery. This was rated higher so we stopped here. We ordered two sandwiches; one pastrami and one prosciutto, and three sodas in a can. Neither sandwich was remarkable. The bread was good, and now that I see the other pics posted, I know I didn’t get anything that differed. Basic panini fare is what’s for lunch here. From one child after a query on the sandwich:“ehhhhh”, from the other: «not fabulous». The ladies at the shop were very polite and cheery. However, the other customers, that appeared to be locals, took custody of two of the three outside tables fifteen minutes before their party arrived. Luckily there are plenty of benches nearby to have a seat. It looks like a nice community intersection with a coffee shop, bread shop, a meat shop, small grocery and other assorted shops but, after a peek into in the window of the Meatery, I know it will be my next choice, even if their sandwiches are $ 10.

amazing sandwiches. i go way out of my way to get them and i am super upset when they run out of bread on saturdays. and they do around 230 – 3 so order early. honestly one of the best sandwiches in the vancouver/northshore area… great atmosphere and friendly staff too. also i had the potato salad once and it was really really good.

YUM! I have enjoyed their veggie and their chicken sandwiches since the time of the original Italian owners. The best part of the sandwich is the baguette. Originally, they always came with cheese included, warm, filled to the brim, fresh and wide baguettes to hold all food in. The improvements I would suggest is that they make their baguette more uniform(ie. one half is wide and perfect and the other half is narrow and lots of sandwich parts are falling onto your hands including oil and vinegar in the veggie sandwich — probably better to lessen the oil and vinegar, make sure the eggplant is fully cooked and not gritty and add the usual few slices of red pepper. The last few years the red pepper is one slice where it was originally two. The other improvement would be to make sure the mayo is just the right amount as sometimes its overwhelming the sandwich. The chicken sandwich needs more chicken! A lot of the time I notice I;m basically eating bread and cheese with lettuce and lots of mayo. The stuff inside has diminished, but still a tasty. The salads I’ve tried have been good but pricey. The potatoe salad is lovely, but needs more ingredients other than just potatoes and a couple slivers of green onion to warrant $ 2 for the smallest container with more than half full amount. The rice salad was not cooked fully so I did not enjoy it the one time I tried. The other two I have not sampled partly because they are expensive. All in all, its still a darn good sandwich!

$ 8.50 for a baguette sandwich?! Okay, deal. This place kind of rules. It’s always packed and they have one delicious sandwich menu, a great selection of salads and lots of deli items to take away and cook at home. Artisan balsamic vinegars. Olive oils, antipasti, you name it. Bread is always fresh and amazing, and they use Edam cheese which is deliciously fatty and creamy. I can’t comment on the meats because I went veggie, but the bbq eggplant and roasted red peppers were perfect. N My only complaint would be the aioli. Delicious but, my sandwich was drowning in aioli, to the point that I couldn’t taste the remaining flavours Amazing quality, well priced and big enough to last me two meals. Definitely worth stopping by for lunch or to stock your pantry!

The sandwiches are the best. They’re super fresh and taste great. the only issue is that they are a bit pricey for how much you get. Either way its one of the best sandwich spots in the area.

at the moment this is my favorite sandwich joint in or around vancouver. ive been coming to this place for the last 4 years whenever i could, and they deliver every time. i usually get the salami or the prosciutto, normaly made with roasted red peppers, but i substitute for a pickle. simplicity is the name of the game here, as they really only add mayo, fresh lettuce and pickle or red pepper. that seems to be the norm when your baguettes are that fesh and good. the pastrami is good as well and it comes with dijon, but the prosciutto is by far the most tender i ever had.

The biggest negative about this place is that it is closed for most August… curse you family owned business! I always always get the Chicken + Cheese sandwich. It has never been anything less than perfect. The bread is always right on point. I have this probably once every week or two, and make sure to get their early! It is packed at lunch and you will have a wait. The chicken and rice salad, and greek salad are also tasty. I have a had a couple of their soups and they have been extremely good.

What I order: Prosciutto Baguette Sandwich This is the place we are willing to drive all the way from Surrey for. Everything makes a good sandwich. The bread/baguette is perfect its crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. If the bread was to hard or chewy then the sandwich wouldn’t be perfect. But here everything combined is the perfect combination. The roasted peppers and the pesto mayo. It’s what I crave for when it’s nice and sunny out.

This place makes yummy sandwiches. My favourites are the pastrami and salami sandwich. They use very fresh ingredients in their sandwiches. The only cons are the long wait for a sandwich as they usually have a back-up and make them fresh for you. In addition, at $ 8.55, you pay a pretty penny for your sandwich. I definitely go less frequently as I used to(they used to be $ 6 or $ 7 a few years back). This is a deli so they also sell dry pasta, olives, some soups, etc — the typical stuff you would see at an Italian deli.

Definitely a top 5 sandwich place in Vancouver. I love the pastrami sandwich. Lineups can be crazy. The sandwiches are not typically custom so it boggles my mind why they don’t prep a bunch shortly before the rush. These guys have a license to print money and it seems they are to unorganized to capitalize. It really bothers me that after so long they haven’t figured out what seems to be an obvious solution to improve customer experiences, increase sales and make more money. Great sandwich though.

So this review is a bit dated, but the reasoning for me to write this is because, I will come again! It used to be one of the places we would go to after around of golf on the weekend. After coming back to Edgemont Village again last week, I’ve decided that I do need to return here and enjoy what this smallish town community has to offer. And indeed the great food that we always had for eating in or taking out with us at La Galleria. I have to give credit to Taketo for bringing us here originally. He’s a great guy with a wonderful sense for good food. He certainly hit it on the spot with this location. It is a gem that the the local community know about but the masses have yet to discover. Just the way I like it. Great sandwiches, veggie options and if you like Italian meats, then you really will love their sandwiches.

I’ve only tried 1 type of sandwich, and I’ve inhaled it every time! Simply amazing! The prosciutto with red pepper. Price: under 10 bucks for a sandwich and drink. Service: Fast and efficient once you get to the front of the line. Be prepared to line up to order, they are making the sandwiches as fast as they can but can’t keep up with the droves of hungry peeps. Lunch time is especially busy. Selection: Italian deli with meats, pastas, sauces, other Italian delicacies Seating:Theres only 2 outdoor tables so better off going for take out. Parking: Free street parking but not that many spots around. Payment: Cash, Credit Cards, Debit.
