This is my pet peeve. My party of three sat down at a table at the corner with 3 sets of cutlery and 3 napkins. We were told that table is for party of 7 and we have to switch to another table. Later on, that table was occupied by a party of three. What is this? Discrimination? Will not come back. No tips.

We only come here because it’s walking distance and sometimes the convenience is just too hard to pass up. We order a few items regularly and they’re quite ok. Sushi delight(spicy salmon in a scouped out fresh orange), bbq tuna salad, chopped scallop roll. If you order a dinner box sometimes they bring you the wrong stuff or something is missing. Prices are average. Service is strange and inconsistent. Last time we were there the Mom/server was stretched out on the opposite bench having a nap. Seriously. My son thought it was funny, I thought it was sad. At least she didn’t snore.

I’ve been a fan of Cove Sushi for some time but just a few weeks ago(June 2013) we returned to see that they’ve changed their menu. There are less items on the menu and the prices have gone up about 20%. Our regularly-ordered items went up in price and some extras(like a salad) caused our bill to go over $ 50. What a shame, this neighborhood restaurant is priced more like something in downtown Vancouver.

Hey all you gidgets, danksters, and crushers… Cove sushi is the new«cool» «surfin’» remake of the old Red Tom Bo Sushi in the Dollarton strip mall(*quotes indicate my sarcasm). Came here at 11:50am, when the place had just opened at 1130am and the place looked like it had just woke up out of bed. Tables lacked cutlery, a good wiping, and mom and daughter were just sitting in the corner looking hungover. With two tables already waiting and people coming in to pick up… c’mon dudes don’t be such barnies… wake up ya barn-schwags! Service throughout lunch was pretty lackluster, no refills on the green tea, no order staggering… I hate it when I get all of the sushi order at once to the table, and have to try to organize what to eat first so it doesn’t get cold… such a bummer. If it were not for the crappy service, I’d be in total fambo and the place would get four stars. Everything made was really fresh from the unagi nigiri, the interesting rolls, and the deluxe seafood tempura… the batter was light, crispy, and the fish was fresh and perfectly cooked. Not bad at all. If you’re not to garshed after, get your green tea icecream to go and walk down to Cates Park and watch the waves go by.

Very cheap sushi! Good deals and some pretty good tasting stuff. Their gomae is also delicious. I agree with the other reviews; the service isn’t incredible, but if you’re just going to grab some sushi with a friend or just hoping to fill your stomach, there’s nothing wrong with the place. I rarely spend over $ 9 at this place and have never had any serious qualms about the service.

Both the sushi and sashimi that we ordered were excellent. Food arrived very promptly. Service was a little lacking however.

This is the latest incarnation of a sushi joint for the Dollarton neighbourhood which is centrally located with lots of parking. The sushi quality is pretty good, the prices are OK, and service OK as well. The sushi chef seems pretty serious and looks like he takes his craft pretty seriously. I’ve never been disappointed — the fish is fresh, the rice is right, and the selection fairly standard, although they do have a number of ‘unique’ items with local names.

In a quick summary… Cove Sushi is good quality sushi, however, the service is almost unbearable. You have to spend a min. of 5 dollars to receive green tea, something I am still shocked over! The Dollarton roll is great though, and keeps me coming back.

Really Good value. Some times it takes a while for the food.

Formerly the location of the Red Tom-Bo, Cove Sushi is a great place to eat-in or take-out. They have some original rolls like the Dollarton Roll(prawn, yam tempura, avocado, cucumber, topped with spicy tuna), Seymour Roll(tuna, salmon, cooked prawn, crabmeat, avocado, cucumber, tobiko with soy sheet wrapping), and Cove House Roll(cream cheese, tuna, salmon, avocado, cooked prawn, cucumber, tobiko). A few lunch bento options between $ 8.95 and $ 12.95.
