Loved this little place. The coffee was so good, and the people were friendly. I also got a gluten free panini(I must say it was nice to be included in the sandwich clan so that for you that). I will be headed back any and every chance I get.

I really like the vibe this coffee shop has! I tried avocado toast with pickled onions with hot cocoa. They offer almond milk which is always a bonus for me. This is a great place to study, work, or just chill.

I get some of the best coffee I’ve ever had in greater vancouver here. It is truly a gem. I always get the macchiato and would suggest anybody who loves coffee to try it. It’s a traditional one not the caramel latte a lot of people might associate with that word.

3rd time at Old Crow now. I really like the drip coffee, fairly acidic but still light and not overpowering. I’d recommend the Avocado toast with pickled onions simple yet delicious if you are looking for a snack or light breakfast/lunch. Nice to see that they have commissioned some Art for the walls. In the early days the walls seemed slightly bare. Staff is always friendly and willing to answer questions. Great addition to Front St in New Westminster.

Always good to find a place brews good beans out in the burbs(BowsXArrows). That said not the most convenient location to get to. Space is alright but the seating is pretty limited. The pour over I had was alright but I’ve had much better(Habit in Vic does better w/Bows). All in all a mediocre experience but as a new shop I’m guessing it will improve over time.

I finally don’t have to go all the way to Vancouver for great coffee shops. Love the design of this place. With the limited number of seats it will never get too loud and crowded. I love reading books in that atmosphere. The coffee is good of course. Baristas are very friendly too.

So glad there’s a café like this in New West. I love the atmosphere, except I’m kind of scared of birds and I thought at first that the crow on display was real. I wasn’t wearing my glasses at the time and my eyes are really bad. After realizing it wasn’t real, I calmed down. I got the cappuccino and a chocolate chip cookie. Cappuccino was good. I could taste some butter on the cookie probably from not mixing the batter enough, but I really liked it. It wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet and it went great with the coffee.

I love trying out different local coffee shops on a regular basis so hearing and reading about the Old Crow was promising. The photos looked good so I was looking forward to finally having a coffee shop to go to in New West other than your usual Tim Horton’s & Starbucks. The interior was nice although, it could certainly use more chairs/couches/lounge. I tried the little corner area by the door but had to move to the long high table in the middle of the store because: 1) the table was uneven thereby wonky and 2) it smelled of bird poo(or something. whatever it was, it wasn’t pleasant to be sipping coffee while inhaling that). I then moved to the long high table to continue sipping on my latte which was NOTBAD. Definitely better than Timmy’s or Starbucks as it was smooth and didn’t leave a bitter taste in your mouth afterwards. I did want my latte«for here» but it was still given to me in a «to go» cup. I ordered a breakfast croissant as well which took about 10 – 15 minutes. The lady behind me who ordered a «to go» sandwich ended up getting her order before I did. The guy making the sandwiches didn’t seem to know what he was doing as I found the owner coaching him all the way through. When he finally had the other lady’s order, he didn’t call out the name of it and just left it in front of the counter. When I asked if that was the breakfast sandwich, he didn’t say anything and had a confused/lost look on his face. The sandwich was NOTBAD either. It was a croissant with hardboiled eggs, mayo, grainy mustard, and arugula. The croissant was nice and the combination of flavors was a thumbs up. However, I can probably make that at home. Altogether, I would say this place is NOTBAD. Will I come back? Probably not. Unless there’s some sort of promo happening. My search continues for great local coffee shop in New West. For now, I’ll probably just go to Take Five by the hospital or continue going to my downtown faves — JJ Bean and Milano.

Close the New West Skytrain station. I have book marked this on my list since seeing this on the front page on March 14, 2015 on Unilocal.Part of the justifiable delay in getting here is the lack of published hours of operation, therefore, pre-planning was a bit out of the question. I was in the area as my company had a meeting with our accountant who was just two blocks away from the place. This place doesn’t get much walk by traffic unless you’re specifically on Front Street, however, it’s a nice hidden gem. It’s small with very limited seating. The pastries were limited, however, was able to find something to suit my dietary needs. Price for drip coffee was cheap at under $ 2. Drip coffee is hit and miss with me. I found the coffee a bit overly acidic and barely finish-able. Nothing to do with the establishments, just my pallet not used to it just yet. The lady at the shop was super chatty and sociable = instant Vancouver love.

After living here for 5 years there is finally a decent coffee shop. The décor is great, the music is awesome(not coffee shop music that Starbucks made everyone copy), and the staff is friendly and energetic. They even unintentionally started singing to Bryan Adams songs yesterday. We brought back some of their almond croissants for friends and they came back later for more.

This place is a bit off the beaten path but it’s defiantly searchable. I used Unilocal to help locate a local coffee shop for my latte fix. My partner and I ended up ordering two drinks, a latte and a mocha. The barista messed up our drinks she gave us a mocha which was the wrong size and I got an Americano. I have to say they just opened two months ago and they are ironing out the kinks so I wasn’t upset at all. I actually thought the owner was super lovely so didn’t even both to complain. I think it’s important to support local business’s and in particular the little guys. I’ll be back and I’m confident it’ll be a better experience. Ps– I like the crow theme —

The Old Crow Coffee Co.‘s food menu lists several sandwiches, a charcuterie meat and cheese plate with mustard and fig jam, and some pastries. The service was somewhat slow, but understandable since there was only one barista working. With the exception of a few photographs of crows suspended from the ceiling against the brick wall backdrop, the décor was sparse. The Old Crow certainly had a chic industrial flare with vaulted ceilings and exposed brick and pipes. My partner ordered the avocado toast with pickled onions and lemon. It was simple, yet flavourful and well-balanced. The avocado toast was the highlight of the meal, which is unfortunate since it is so easy to make at home. I ordered a chocolate croissant which was fresh and flaky, yet fairly typical. The filling was more like semi-hard chocolate syrup than real chocolate. Still hungry I ordered the veggie muffaletta sandwich, excited by the olive tapenade and two cheese selection(mozzarella and provolone). To my disappointment, the veggie muffaletta was covered in mayonnaise(even though this was not listed on the comprehensive menu) and there only seemed to be one extra thinly sliced, extra small piece of cheese as you can see in the photo. The sandwich was mostly bread. I was happy to see The Old Crow advertised their café as serving local and organic products, but when I asked how much of the food and beverages were organic, the barista didn’t know.

I’m mostly a social coffee drinker. This place could make a proper addict out of me. I like the European style high table option that you can stand and drink a cuppa at. The décor suits the location and the staff was obliging and friendly despite a crush of customers. The music was choice and the properly balanced caffeine hit all my spots perfectly.

Went there three times with the boyfriend so far. The espresso was too bitter for our personal taste, but the latte(regular and soy) were excellent and we now go for those every time. As others have mentioned, the space could do with more seating, but I’m sure this will come as they settle into their business groove over the months. Staff is friendly, water is available for self-serving(a huge yay for us) and the music creates a warm and inviting ambiance. Overall we find this to be a gem to cherish in our neighbourhood and look forward to their success over time.

I’m in here right now… drinking an amazing chai coffee(not on the menu, the gal here invented it for me b/c I can’t have fancy drinks due to a silly cleanse I’m on). I’m sooo happy. The music is so great, I keep Shazaaming it… Cute exposed-brick hipster shop with wooden tables and high ceilings. The location is close to the water on an unexpected street that I’m sure will become the next hopping place for cocktail bars and restaurants. So far these guys seem to be championing it. Service was so lovely. Having the limited options like I do right now, it means a lot when someone goes the extra mile to help! Lovin’ it :)

So New West finally gets a hipster coffee bar. It’s on a back street, called Front Street, and it’s got art and white space and room to spare. They do pour overs and espressos and fancy sandwiches and charcuterie boards, but how lovely that there’s good old regular drip coffee too. I think it’s a fancy artisan brand; I enjoyed a freshly made cup with a walk along the riverfront. They were playing Led Zeppelin when I was there, and they have a pretty cool collection of vintage mugs to drink from«for here.» Rock on, Old Crow, rock on. There is potential with this space, so let’s see how it flies in the neighbourhood.

Cute new shop in a neat location. This place doesn’t have anything too special yet on their menu, but they have only been around a few weeks. The coffee is good, the food items tasty, if perhaps a tiny bit overpriced. I’m personally in love with the scones. I’m a decaf person and they have a great tasting Swiss water decaf roast that is quickly becoming my new favourite. The place is funky and pretty busy considering how new it is. The staff are friendly enough. I’m looking forward to warmer weather when I can end my long Quay walks here. Quite a bit of paid street parking for a quick pop in. Plenty of longer term paid parking if you plan to hang out. It’s a bit tricky to locate but worth searching for.

Came here to grab a chai latte, but was told they ran out, and will be picking up some more later that afternoon. Being it was a Saturday morning, I think they should be a bit more stocked up… Anyhow, I went for a London Fog latte, and I really didn’t think they steeped the tea enough. Just tasted like vanilla syrup. Had a ham & cheese croissant, but it was pretty standard. While it looks like a promising place, I don’t know if I’ll come back. Its a pretty big space, but poorly utilized. There’s a long table in the center where everyone was standing around enjoying their coffees. As for sitting, there were 2 or 3 pretty big square tables, with 4 seats attached to it — where the seat swings out, AND it wobbles /swivels… I nearly fell off a few times. Unfortunately, thats the first thing I think of when I think back to this place. Such big tables, and only 4 attached chairs, pretty poor use of space. Too bad we can’t drag more chairs up!

Amaaaaazing spot. Delicious sandwiches and coffees at a great price. I love the ambience of the space. Beautiful and unique décor inside. A total mount pleasant feel in a perfect and upcoming new west location. I live in east van and find myself wanting to make the trip out there just for this place. Super easy to get to from transit as well. I tried their wild game meatloaf sandwich with a side green salad and a drip coffee. It was so good I ordered another sandwich to go. Check this place out! You will not be disappointed.

Went here for a quick lunch earlier this week. The café is a bit difficult to access currently(March 2015), as Front Street is under construction from Begbie St. To MacKenzie St. Don’t let this deter you! Coming down the stairs off MacKenzie St will drop you off right in front of the café. Ambience is great — between the light off the river, the trains going by, and the very cool brick walls(covered in really amazing photography, I assume shot by the café’s owners). The owners have put a huge amount of effort into making the place feel cool and unique. I ordered a Mocha latte and a sandwich. Chatting with the owner, I found out that there are plans to expand the menu beyond the 4 – 5 items it currently has to an array of salads and other options. The sandwich I did have was fantastic though — a generous size on a baguette, filled with cold cuts and fresh greens on the side. The mocha was great, too. They also offer the usual assortment of baked goods — croissants and muffins, etc. Old Crow Coffee Co. is the kind of café you’d find in Mount Pleasant or Commercial Drive — a haunt for creatives in a cool space. Luckily, with it’s location in New West, now I don’t need to drag myself out to East Van to get that same experience. An awesome addition to the city and I look forward to their future!
