FreshCo

FreshCo opened a few years back, replacing Sobeys (though, they are the same company), as FreshCo sells cheaper products. Sobeys has been in this spot for about a decade, from the beginning when this neighbourhood was build. However, probably because of the price, not enough people came to this grocery store.
Parking is never a problem in this mall as there are a lot of spots. Walking into FreshCo, it was definitely more dull than Sobeys. The lights were dim and white lights. The amount of fresh green produce seem to be reduced and though I tried to pick out some groceries, I couldn’t because the veggies aren’t great quality veggies.
I liked how they separated the veggies section with the fresh meat and fish area. I didn’t notice a big bakery section however, so the selection of baked goods is limited.
The rest of the supermarket is filled with dried products such as snacks, pasta, medicine, toiletries, etc.

Very clean and well priced grocery store. There halal section is very clean. Only one thing to keep in mind, some of the bakery are actually frozen therefore when you pick one up and feel slightly cold it’s from the freezer

FreshCo is one of my favourite grocery stores in the area. The reason being is the layout is really good. It is clean and the produce is generally very fresh. They also have a fresh meat and fish area which is very useful. They have 5 dollars cakes, who can go wrong there.
The best part is that there is rarely a lineup to cash out here. They also have a lot of cashiers available. They have a section that features different foods from different cultures, so you can find some items here that you can’t find at other stores.
Overall, I visit this location on a weekly basis.

I actually like the store better now that it’s FreshCo. I admit to NOT being a fan of the carts you must put a quarter in, but I’m otherwise pleased with the selection, quality, and helpfulness of the staff. FreshCo is one of 2 stores I shop at regularly, and since I live just down Bur Oak from there, they often win out from proximity alone.

Sobeys has been most recently replaced by Freshco (its the same corporation) no biggie. I didn’t understand the reason behind replacing it. maybe becuz quality and price of Sobeys was overall not appealing…
Anyways, the total makeover for freshco. the meat and seafood department is obviously outsourced becuz I found that the meat department here versus the RH one is different. this one is owned by southeast Asians and RH meat department is owned by Chinese ppl… so the variety in fresh meat is different…
Otherwise, this location seemed bigger than the RH location, in terms of size…
International sections for southeast asian, Chinese, European are all there… so makes shopping a little easier per say.
Not 24 hrs like Sobeys… open till 10pm which is fine…24hr grocery stores are just there… I highly doubt after midnight they still have alot of customers…
Price match in effect here. I really like that cuz I can stop at one location to get everything so I don’t have to drive to so many places…
Fruits and veggies selection is ok. freshness is a mediocre… prices are manageable on most items…
Flyers always start on Thursday instead of Friday like most… sometimes there are really good deals on flyers…

This is going to be confusing, but there are 2 listings for FreshCo of this location at Unilocal,particularly because this listing got the name wrong. According to the website, it should be FreshCo.
We visited today. The store was clean and brightly lite. The store was well stocked. The product strategy appealed to the multi cultural neighbourhood. There were a lot of fresh, boxed and frozen ethnic groceries of Middle East, Indian and Chinese. There were a fresh butcher section and a fresh seafood section with live seafoods. For the sale items, the pricing was competitive with the Chinese grocery stores. The pricing was quite good for the non-​sale items as well.
FreshCo is a nice addition to the neighbourhood.

This Fresh Co replaced Sobeys in this location.
Though no longer 24/​7, it is a way better grocery store for the area compare to the old Sobeys.
Walking in, the set up now is totally different than before and even the merchandise selection is way versatile with a lot of ethnic dry goods from around the World and the price is way more competitive.
Clean and spacious. Fresh Co might be my to go to Supermarket to pick up my grocery needs!
