Healthy Planet Markham

Walked into this place by accident but don’t regret it at all! I’ve been trying to watch my health and diet and I think I’ve found the best place to start eating healthy and using organic products! This store is a lot bigger than I thought and it has everything from organic fruits and vegetables, healthy smoothies, chip and tea to workout protein shakes, balms and many other wonderful natural things you can think of! I will be definitely coming back for more supplies especially for my baking, teas and smoothies! :)

Love Healthy Planet! This location was recently renovated. Very friendly staff, good selection, decent parking, competitive prices.
The organic food section is new. And you can find supplements and food here not available at other stores. Note they don’t carry all the items on their website, but for the items they do carry they will price match the sale prices if they are not the same already.
I remember for grand opening day they gave out a goodie bag which was nice. And they put out close to expiry items on sale at the front, so the food you buy stays fresh. If you are buying Genesis Today 118ml superfood drinks, buy them in store because I had purchased them on website before and they were mostly expired. I lost out on shipping and credit for those purchases.
They have a Vincity points rewards card. I usually save a couple dollars off each purchase.
Great health food store if you’re in the area!

I hadn’t been to healthy planet in a long time. I was pleasantly surprised to find they had expanded and it was much less claustrophobic. I came in to get a pre workout for the gym, however they were out of the one I wanted :(The cashier recommended I try mammoth pump and it worked really well! They had a really big supply of workout sups and some gluten free snacks for those looking. The points card system they have isn’t overly enticing at only 2%, but the prices were very reasonable.

I have been coming here a lot for my supplement needs and healthy snacks. It’s directly across from Markville Shopping Centre, so it’s not too much out of the way especially when I need something after my workout at Markville Fitness.
From the outside, Healthy Planet looks like a small place, but this is totally not the case. They have a produce section, a frozen section, even an aisle for teas and definitely two aisles for sports nutritions and supplements.
They also carry many of the same items as you can find at the Whole Foods Market down Hwy 7 and they offer then at better prices than Whole Foods, which I am a definite fan of. BUT… While the selections are there, stock on the other hand, not so much. Some shelves seem to be low or empty for the few times I’ve visited (which is the main reason I couldn’t give them 4 stars).

I love shopping there… but one female staff, in particularly seems Iike she has an attitude! So now I mostly go on Sundays! If I go during the week, It’s on Thursdays, when Tinna or Jane, is there. Saff, is the nicest guy of them all. That lady, gives me a bad vibe. I spent over $ 2,000 at that store… maybe more. But they mostly have what I want! Its a nice store. But they’re getting very expensive. Going thing I shop in the states alot!

Healthy Planet is really good when compared to GNC, because Healthy Planet store is really big. I think it approximates the size of a Shoppers Drug Mart. If you are looking for a spa look alike décor, Healthy Planet is not it. The decoration is near non-​existent, so the store has a warehouse feel.
The products are well organized by category. The unique items are expensive, but items that can be found in other stores, such as high end independent grocers, are competitively priced. It carries a lot of whole grain and natural cooking ingredients, weight training supplements, diet supplements, snacks and chips, etc. I find it interesting that the floor plan forces customers to walk past the beauty and personal hygiene section before they can reach the supplement and grocery sections. I guess beauty and health products have higher profit margins.
Healthy Planet carries one of the largest selections of Bob’s Red Mill Natural Food products that I have ever seen, even compared to high end grocers. If you want to buy something of the Bob’s Red Mill, you will likely get lucky here.
The services are good. We were offered assistance twice while browsing.

I went into this store last week and was pleasantly surprised. It is bigger than it appears. They have a very wide selection of products and their prices are extremely reasonable. I even found agar-​agar powder (seaweed based gelatin alternative) which I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. The ladies working there are helpful, too. I would definitely recommend this to the Markham crowd.

Since my last review every time I’ve been to this store they either don’t have what I need (shelves not stocked) or they don’t know anything about their products; I put in a special order for 3 things 2 months ago and still haven’t received 2 of them. Then when I called to inquire the guy gave me attitude saying I’d be called when they were in. Yesterday (Oct. 17, 2012) the one lady there was unconcerned when I pointed out that their yogurt was 1 month past the best before date, the younger guy at the cash (who always looks like he is not happy to be there) was annoyed when I asked him to ring in my order on two separate bills then he overcharged me for one of the items. I do not like going into the place anymore as the service is awful, so I’m taking my rating from 4 stars to 2.
