Always smells amazing in here. Bread is soft inside, flaky crust, loaded with awesome spicy veggies and tasty chicken. I love their tofu options too. I have a vegan friend that frequents here as well, there are lots of options for everyone, never sacrificing for flavour. The bubble teas are made with fruit juice as opposed to real blended fruit, but still nice on a hot day. Salad rolls are also delicious. Everything comes quickly, and you can even distract yourself in the cupcake store next door while you wait ;) Cash only, but there is an ATM machine inside near the tables. Delicious!

Tasty sandwiches right on Whyte — good alternative for when you don’t want to actually hit a sit-down place for lunch. Lots of room inside to sit, or take it to go. Sandwiches are quite tasty(though they lose one star for committing the ultimate sin of putting mayonnaise on my sandwich after specifically asking for none… YUCK!!!) and the soup is pretty good(but best enjoyed on location — doesn’t travel well).

I love the vegetarian tofu subs! I find myself craving it from time to time. That is basically the only item I’ve had there, also had green onion cakes, which are also good. The décor and ambiance are not that impressive but the subs are cheap, cheaper than Subway or Quiznos and waaaay better.

I visited the former location on Rice Howard Way a few times, which I just found out is now closed. This evening, I was craving phở and on Whyte Avenue, where it seems the phở pickings are slim, but I discovered that V has a selection of soup, in addition to sandwiches. I went with the well-done beef, which had a reasonable amount of meat that was lean and tender, in a rather large bowl full of noodles. The broth was a little intense — it had a sour taste I find from time to time in phở(I think it is from fish sauce) that I find a bit off-putting. Still, it was a huge bowl for a good price and a very nice location to boot.

Cheap sandwiches, wasn’t horrible. Paid extra for extra meat and still was disappointed with the amount on it. They load it up with carrots and cilantro or something, I can imagine to give it mass without putting any protein in it. Was OK but I wouldn’t return

My favourite place to stop and grab lunch on Whyte Ave! I usually go for the BBQ pork sandwich, but I’ve never been disappointed with anything on their menu. They make awesome salad rolls and in the cold months their phô pretty much sustains me. It’s typical Whyte Avenue parking… So there isn’t much, but it’s an easy walk if you live in the neighbourhood. There are a few tables to sit and stay, but they also do take out so you only have to call ahead and pay when you pick up. Service is great. Super friendly. Order at the counter, pay, grab a seat and they’ll call your number to pick up your food.

I love this sandwich shop, the staff are friendly and the food is great. The lemongrass chicken is my favorite thing to get here, they also serve bubble tea but there are better places to go for that.

This was an awesome surprise. I’ve never even heard of vietnamese sandwiches. The place was really busy during the art walk and I see why. The owner suggested the beef satay. What a great sandwich! The bun was light yet strong enough to hold solid and the vegetables, cilantro and meat were perfectly balanced. I will be back for sure

I just stopped here for a Beef Sate sandwich and a Vietnamese iced coffee. I did enjoy V’s Sandwiches a bit more than their competitors just down the street. Here’s why: –The blended mayo they put on the sub was delicious, and more importantly, it wasn’t dripping out of the edges like you often see with some sub places. It was balanced nicely with the house made spicy sauce. –I’m really not a big fan of cilantro overkill. V’s hit the sweet spot with the cilantro. Just enough to complement all flavors. –The sub was a good size for what you pay. I was definitely satisfied with the quantity and quality. Also, the bun was toasted; crunchy, but not crumbling between my fingers like an ancient artifact. My only complaint is that a Vietnamese iced coffee is $ 4.25 and mine was about 80% ice. There was so much ice in fact that I had trouble getting my straw in. It was disappointing to finish in about 6 sips. If you get one ask for minimal ice.

You know I gotta say, «I love me a Vietnamese sandwich.» But I found this place to be more hype than substance. I ordered my go-to grilled pork and I didn’t know that a very liquidous sauce came standard. I was not all about that sauce. Also the parking around V’s is brutal! I mean if you’re out for a 2am jaunt then by all means plow a V’s sandwich in your gullet but down the road there’s better options. Not sayin’ just sayin.

This place is good. They give you a decent amount of meat. Not tons but the other places rip you off and give you none. This place is really good and fresh.

I love this place. Seems family owned and operated. Best sub I have ever had, service is outstanding. I call in orders all the time and pick it up 7 mins later. Great food, prices, and service! Made a regular out of me. My favourite is sate beef sub

Definitely my Go-To Vietnamese Sub place. I was surprised that such a small hole in the wall kind of shop would create a masterpiece of a sub. My Favorite is the Beef Sate, just be sure to ask for extra spice if you like it spicy :) The staff here are friendly and quite nice. The shop is clean.

High fives all around for what are probably the best vietnamese subs in Alberta! I’ve never had pâté sub but good glavin mclovin it’s certainly something worth driving from Calgary for. And their Green onion pancakes! Crispy and savoury that pairs well with the sweetness of the sauce. You can’t eat it without the sauce, if you do I’ll slap you square in the face. Just kidding, I’lll just kiss you and call you silly instead.

For a tiny sandwich shop on whyte ave, this impressed me a ton(I go there fairly often when in Edmonton). The food is a great price and delicious, Try the lemongrass chicken sub or the lemongrass tofu, they’re the best two on the menu in my opinion. They also sell vitamin water and pop for a good price!

Wow! This is going to be one of my favourite lunch places I can tell. I often default to grabbing a sub from Subway for lunch if I don’t think of any other interesting options. But now that I have tried this place I am hooked! Sorry Subway but you may not see me again for a long time! This is a small shop on Whyte Ave that is easy to miss. Look for it east down the street from Julio’s Barrio. It has seating for about 36ish if it were packed. I arrived during lunch hour and it wasn’t too busy. I got to order right away and my warm sub was ready within a few minutes. The place didn’t get too busy either while I was there. I told the girl working that I haven’t been here before and what would she recommend. She asked if I liked spicy which I said yes to so she mentioned the satay’s were spicy. I ordered the beef satay sandwich and that thing was delicious! The price for my lunch and drink was within cents of what I would pay for at Subway. I’m looking forward to trying more items on the menu. So delicious. If I were to rate Subway a 6⁄10 then I say this place is a 14! A must try place.

My husband and I got caught on the South side of downtown Edmonton today, unable to cross Jasper Avenue due to the Cariwest parade and decided to head towards Whyte Ave to wait things out and grab some food. This was a perfect day for a sandwich and we sidled up to the counter to check out the wares. I ordered a Lemongrass Tofu sub and my hubby the Lemongrass Chicken. Both arrived promptly and were quite delicious with good portions of meat and vegetables. A great value. We ordered a lychee bubble tea for dessert. Probably the best bubble tea we’ve had in awhile with a perfect slush consistency(always hate the places where they skimp on blending and you’re left with chunky ice) and the perfect amount of milk. My husband agreed although we were split on the texture of the«bubbles» with my vote being they were perfect(extremely soft) and my husband feeling they were way too mushy for his liking. Looking forward to going there again for another sandwich although certainly a variety of other items like salad rolls are on offer as well.

This was my first time trying a Vietnamese sub and oh boy, I’ve been missing out! I tried their Lemongrass Chicken sub and it was delicious. It comes with carrots, cucumbers, cilantro, etc. The whole thing is just fantastic and its just $ 6.96 for a 9″ sub. If you’re around the area and just want a quick meal, I highly recommend V Sandwiches. Their ingredients are fresh and a 1000x better than Subway. They also offer flavored sodas for $ 2.50. I tried the pineapple one and it was pretty good.

If you haven’t stopped in at V’s, you’re missing out! This place offers a limited menu, but what they do offer is delicious! Their Vietnamese sub sandwiches are delicious — everything is fresh and their baguettes are amazing! I’m also mildly obsessed with their bubble tea; theirs has a good consistency and the right amount of pearls/jelly. Not too thick, and not runny either. Love!

Came to V Sandwiches for the first time and had the pork sate sandwich listed as spicy and 2 spring rolls(free with sub purchase with coupon from SUTP book). The verdict is in and they make a YUMMY Vietnamese sub! I had to add hot sauce to make it «spicy» but that’s okay :-) The pickled carrots were perfect and the cucumbers awesome! I’m not usually a mayo eating individual but the sauce they concocted up for their sub was perfect and just the right amount. I did pick off the white onions but that’s a personal preference. The pork was flavourful and lean. The bread was warm and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. There is quite a lot of cilantro if you’re not used to that as a garnish but everything is easy to customize or take off. There was quite a lot of seating for a little sandwich shop on Whyte avenue. The older gentleman who took my order was friendly and the store was clean. I will definitely return to try out more of the menu! They do offer bubble tea at this location but only the powdered kind. So, if you’re a fresh fruit kind of bubble tea drinker like myself than this is not the bubble tea spot for you.
