O’Byrne’s Irish Pub

Always a good time. Great music. Great selection of tapped beer and can’t get enough of the Curry fries! I will be back again and again.
Sometimes it can be a little slow getting a drink but that’s normal when you’re busy!
Favorite part: Nice out? You damn rights the patio will be open. More Edmonton Establishments should do this.

$ 4.50 pints for happy hour (2−8pm).
Decent food. I tried the coconut crusted fish and chips. Hubs had the traditional. Our friend had a giant plate of delicious sausages. We’ve always had great service. Been coming here for 15 years.

Love this place, great atmosphere, awesome patio, good drinks and food.
Patio is baby friendly until 8 or 9 I believe which was nice for my family and I.

Huge for an Irish pub on Whyte Ave. Great drinks for a cheap price. The food was alright though. Two bars upstairs and downstairs. They also have a dance floor if you feel like it. Chill crowd and friendly waiters. Not a bad place to start the night if you’re going for bar hopping!

It’s been awhile, but I noticed this review, and thought I would update with the managers reply to my e-​mail (which was essentially a cc of this review)…
Well, they asked who the server was so they could dismiss her! (quote: «and you should know that with further investigation, the girl who served you will be dismissed from her job at O’Byrne’s»)
Needless to say, that was the icing on the cake to stop me from going back. Yikes! Complaining about shitty service doesn’t mean I want to be responsible for somebody getting fired. I never responded to the e-​mail and nothing came of it… except for my non-​desire to go back to a pub I used to frequent and for me to tell everybody I know who suggests it how terrible it is — and now we never go.

The waitress spilled our drinks all night
When we ordered food she dropped a hot pan on my lap, me and my wife got burned, I had a surgery a couple weeks ago so it was hard and painful to stand up really fast.
The manager said he was going «to take care of our entire bill»
At the end of the night it was just my part of the bill!
How convenient is that, my part of the bill was just water!!!

Good food (loved the caesar salad), nice big patio shaded with umbrellas, and friendly staff. It was just a little slow getting our server back sometimes, even though the inside of the restaurant was nearly empty. Will definitely return for the food and patio!

Going to O’Byrne’s on a Saturday at midnight is completely different than being there at noon .
When you go during the day, it’s a fantastic place. Big sunny patios, fantastic prices.
It would be a 4 star review.
But go Saturday at midnight?
It’s like hanging out with a friend who’s had far far too much to drink. Go home OBryrne’s you’re drunk.
Overpriced drinks, I think with tax and tip about $ 20 for two kokanee, unattractive bar crowd…(so that’s why there’s no line up) and worst of all a very very very bad DJ.
I’ve had the joys of working in the hospitality /​bar world for a while (running an afterhours for over half a decade) in the past.
And I can tell you the DJ was by far the worst I’ve heard in a long long time.
I“m not going to knock the song choices (pretty much the same as you would hear as at the Pint or Hudsons) but the way he played them.
He had the horrible tendencies to try and «mix them», but I know what a mix should sound like. I also know what a train wreck sounds like,
and this DJ was the audio equivalent of Via Rail explosion.
The mixing itself wasn’t the worst it was the way he would… cut off… the song… before the… hook played out.
It would be like reading this review and having… the food was really… that’s where I saw the girl with the huge… entrance near the door don’t…banana is the number… bing bong… annnnnnnnnddd still mixing… illogically.
Annoying right?

One of my favorite Pubs in Edmonton. The atmosphere is great. It’s always busy which means waiting for your drinks sometimes but it’s always worth it. They have friendly waitresses ad a great selection of beer.
It’s a great place to meet up with friends and have a few drinks. If you’re looking for a place that serves Guiness this place is for you. The prices are pretty good and I will definitely be back!
