I’m pretty loyal when it comes to getting my haircut. For example, Mickey’s on Whyte was my place for pretty much the entire 90’s(yup, and entire decade with the same barber), and then when I moved away, I stuck with a fellow teacher’s wife in the small town I worked for another 9 years. Since returning to Edmonton, I found it easier to hit Lendrum(as opposed to Whyte) for haircuts because it was closer to the new house. For the past two-and-a-half years, I’ve been coming to the Lendrum Barber Shop every 7 or 8 weeks to get my ears lowered. I’m a barber shop kinda guy. I enjoy the variety of conversations you can hear while sitting and waiting for your turn in the chair. Even if you don’t agree with the topic(politics, European football, what-have-you), you can’t help but be entertained and drawn in, usually by the assortment of guys who are getting trimmed or just sitting and enjoying the converstation. Having said that, I’m the type that hits the chair, explains my super-simple cut and then closes my eyes and just enjoys the silence. I don’t know the owners name, but he has mastered that lost art of the Barber in that he can pick up the hints and either will join in your conversation or let you sit quietly. The cuts are fast — so if there is a couple of guys in front of you in line, you won’t have to wait long — and always look great. The price is on par with what you’ll pay for a cut of this sort — and no membership needed… HA…or should I say HAHA! Yes, that’s a «cut» at the more hipster joints currently popping up for the bearded crowd. The experience is simple, relaxing and you’ll walk out looking great.

One of the best barber’s in town!!! Quick and inexpensive haircuts! He’ll cut your hair just the way you want it, while having good conversations with you. I’ve been going to his shop for 8 years now. He’s seen me grow up from a boy to a young man. His assistant isn’t too bad either. Nothing but praise for him. The only thing that I’d could say is that, maybe, explain to him explicitly what you want; it’ll make things so much easier and you’ll get a better satisfaction.
