Every once in awhile i check the place out while i walk around the mall. It is very small and contains a collection of rocks, fossils, some jewellery and crystals. The smaller items are decent prices but the crystals are more expensive than other places. I spoke to the owner a long time ago when he first started and he is very knowledgeable . I’ve never understood however how he manages to keep this place running in the mall because it must be expensive to rent there. I assume he has a museum or someone who helps.

Phoned today to try and buy some rock tumbling grit as the store shows them as a retailer of lore tone tumblers. The man on the phone demanded to know where my wife had purchased her tumbler from and told me he only sold grit to people who bought their tumblers from him. Rude, unhelpful, and uncalled for. Will never darken that stores door in the future. Bought my grit from the friendly peop, e at bedrock supply instead. Take your business elsewhere.

This store is a little bit specialized as far as gift giving and collecting are concerned. If you’re into rocks and fossils, welcome to heaven. If you aren’t you’ll have no idea why this place is so awesome. This is another of those places I’ve been shopping at forever. Dr. Ghossein knows me and my husband, and has had to keep many Christmas and birthday secrets over the years. I don’t know why people aren’t fond of his customer service, because I think he’s very personable, professional, and effective. He always asks if I had anything special in mind, and what my price range is. Lucky us, he’s actually aware of what’s in our collection and our personal tastes. And thankfully, he has layaway. His prices differ from dirt cheap to ‘If you need to ask, you can’t afford it.’ You might want a few cute stones starting from $ 5. Or you might want to check out the jewelry made from Canadian Jade, hematite, amber or quartz. Or you might want to purchase a larger piece, such as Alberta petrified wood, a trilobite, or a chunk of amber with a bug in it. Like Dr. Ghossein says, fossils never depreciate in value. That stuff up top? It runs up to $ 10,000 is you want to go hardcore. Go for a look, go for a lark. You might just like it!

If you turn right past HMV on the bottom level of WEM you will find a hallway of the mall so quiet you could hear a pin drop featuring a liquor store, bingo hall, academy of learning, and this place. It is chock full of lots of cool polished stones, fossils, and seashells some of which the owner has turned into beautiful but somewhat pricey jewelry. Upon talking to the gentleman that owns and operates this place I got the feeling he is truly passionate about his work and seems to have a wealth of knowledge about fossils and stones. I do feel his customer service could use a bit of work however. I actually had to sit outside this store for fifteen minutes while the gate was closed. No sign was posted to inform customers when the store would reopen or if it was open today at all. When he did return I received no apology for being kept waiting or any kind of acknowledgement at all until he noticed I did infact have items in my hand I was intending to purchase. If rocks and fossils fall within your spectrum of interest this place will literally be your paradise. Just don’t expect alot in terms of customer service if you are just browsing.

A very small store with a wide variety of polished and raw rocks, as well as fossils and jewelry. The prices seemed a bit high. Being in the store is almost like being in a mini museum, with the specimens behind glass. It is very interesting and worth a visit, if you can find it — it’s around the corner from HMV, if that helps.

This is a really small store and most people probably wouldn’t find it interesting as they pass by but if you make yourself go in, like I did, you will find that it’s kind of cool. The store carries many unique fossils, rocks, artifacts, gemstones, etc. Most of the stuff in here seems pretty pricey but I have no idea what the going rates are either. The owner of the store is really passionate about these items and will gladly tell you how hard it can be to look after fossils or prepare them after they have been found. I admire the dedication. It’s definitely an interesting store to check out but if you’re like me, and have no need for rocks & fossils, you will only be browsing.

This place maybe a bit hard to find considering it’s located in a very quiet part of West Edmonton Mall. The store is very small and believe it or not they sell rocks. The rocks they have are polished and smoothed down but they also have some rocks with gagged pieces sticking out. Some of the stuff is kind of neat. It’s working taking a look at just to see how cool nature can be. I think the best that this store has to offer is its jewelry. They have some interesting and unique pieces. They have some great looking necklaces, rings and earrings made from good-old Canadian jade. This stuff can be a little pricey but if you like Canadian jade then it’s worth it. Some of the necklaces ranged from about $ 40 to $ 395; the rings and earrings ranged form about $ 25 — $ 45(or more). If you like amber then I’m sure you’ll be able to find something that you like from this place. They didn’t have a huge selection of amber but what they had made me wish I could afford to take apiece home with me. They have some really nice and simple looking rings. I thought their necklaces were a bit much; they had large pieces of amber and it was very chunky looking; but if you like that kind of style then you’ll like what they have. I did like their selection of amber bracelets.
