Jessica has moved Salons, so unfortunately my business has moved with her and therefore my review has been moved to another salon. Only because it was mostly about the particular stylist rather then the salon itself. Sorry, EC! I’m sure there are other good ones. Just the two I knew aren’t there anymore.

I came to Eveline Charles on December 22 and my eyebrows were ruined. They were only a couple hairs thick and one was higher than the other. I was treated so terribly by the waxer I almost left crying. She wouldn’t let me use makeup remover or wax remover to I left with wax and lines where she took my wake up off. I emailed their head office and they told me they would remedy the situation. Head office was nice and told me the Southgate location I was at would get back to me within 48 hours. Almost a month later I haven’t received a call. I won’t give them any more time.

I had a body scrub treatment. Have had one before here and it was lovely. The scrub itself was lovely. The power drill overhead running so loudly I could not carry on conversation with staff member was not lovely. Needless to say the extended relaxing wrap period was unsatisfactory due to the noise level. $ 130 plus tax and tip to listen to this. The staff knew(obviously) of the disruption and when paying the clerk asked how it was. Response: excellent service but terrible disruptive noise. Response: silence. As a guest I know some things are beyond their control but I do expect some acknowledgement that my service experience was not what it should be. Within minutes of exit an email survey arrives re my experience. I completed it quickly hoping management would react. In my opinion don’t ask about the experience if you are not prepared to make it right if it falls short. To further annoy me, I forgot to check in on Unilocal to get 15PC discount.

I really like this E&C location for its spa and the aestheticians who work in it. I usually book with Natasha for nails and facials as she is friendly, funny, professional and great at her job. Today I had microdermabrasion with Ashling, and she too was great and gave me great tips and advice that I had not come across yet after my research on the procedure. Yes, E&C is pricey, but their prices are on par with a lot of other higher end spas. I always have a great experience in the spa here, and I think I receive good value for my money here.

I wish there was a zero star option I went there for a cut and color asked for someone experienced ended up up paying almost 300 $ and I am crying still one month later over how bad my hair is. I asked to keep the length as it takes so long to grow and she chopped it all off the bangs look very crooked and the whole cut is very choppy and wayyy too short I can’t even curl it anymore. I asked for a dye and highlights. She didn’t even end up dying my hair and I can’t even see the highlights unless I put my hair up which is very hard now that it is so short. I even showed her a picture of what I want it doesn’t look at all like what I asked it’s almost as if she did the complete opposite. I am a new mom this is the first time I left my baby for so long with her dad or anyone. I wanted to feel good about myself and now I cry lots when I look in a mirror and see my short ugly hair. I really do feel bad I left a twenty dollar tip now the lady probably thinks she did a good job. I even had hopes that after some time it would grow out a bit and I would get used to it i even explained to the stylist how long my hair takes to grow I am so sad :(

FYI !!! Watch out at the SOUTHGATE location !!! I got a facial done there, the next day my right side of my jaw/mouth started to hurt. Within a few days I had a nasty white head which turn into a bluster than got all infected :(I am NOW taking antibiotics and have creams to put on this. I sent in pictures and have HEARNOTHINGBACK !! Very awful customer service and very upset. I can not wear make-up and it hurts to eat ! I get facials every 3 – 6 months THISHASNEVERHAPPENEDTOMEBEFORE!!! As of Monday(Feb 2nd, 2015) I did talk to a lady that was giving my info and the pictures I e-mailed her to the Manager. That was 2 days ago !!!

I see a lot of crap reviews for southgate’s EC. So i would like to clarify a few things… 1.) If you got a crappy hair cut here, it is simply because you saw someone straight out of the college OR this hair stylist was having an «off» day. 2.) The cost here is quite high DEPENDING on who does your hair. It is a different price range for each level of skill of the stylist. When I got my hair done by the trainer of the other stylists, it cost me $ 100 for a cut and style. When I had a newb do my hair, it cost me $ 50. Consider this difference. I do however find the front desk staff to be brainless and pretentious. Maybe they’re all new? Doubt it. Every time I’ve come here, I’ve had fantastic stylists and excellent service in both customer service and delivering the products.

I cannot believe how dirty this salon is, I thought Eveline Charles was the standard to go by and it’s gross. I’m freaking out with this pedicure. Tools are only disinfected in a solution. Gross. The girl is quite nice, but never coming back here.

Was a lovely place to get a sugar scrub then a massage. The only weird thing was that during the massage, the gal kept moving the massage table everywhere. I just wondered why it wasn’t permanently in the middle of the room? Unfortunately, I forgot my extended benefits receipt from them. They gladly snail mailed me a copy so I could submit it to my extended benefits. Plus I also received a 25% off next service. Was a nice gesture… even if they knew I wouldn’t of been able to use it before it expired I would go again!!!

I paid 250 to get my hair cut and dyed. the cut was great, the dye was another thing. The first time it was done you could not even tell anything had been done to it. so I phoned and asked to have it lightened just a bit, I wanted the Ombré look. the seconded time I went, they bleached the crap, out of my hair and then had to dye over that to try and fix it. It does not look good. i have chunks of bleached hair everywhere. I can’t straighten it because it looks so bad. I have been wearing it up until I figure out what to do. I am not sure what to do, but I am NOT going back there to fix it. When I had it done the seconded time the girl, was running out of time because they booked a appt the same time as mine. so they did not even blow dry and straighten my hair. I left with wet hair. When I got home I straightend it right away to see what it looked like. the bleaching was terrible, splotch chunked… not at all what I wanted. My hair is dry from all the dye. Now I have to figure our how to fix it. 250 wasted! I just called to ask what colours they used on my hair so I could fix it and they refused to tell me!

This particular Eveline Charles seems nice when you walk in, but I’m still not convinced. The aesthetician I’ve had have been pretty good, I don’t really have any complaints on that end but the ladies at the front desk concern me. Bought 2 manicures(one for me and one for my bff for Christmas) and they called my cell phone twice to remind me(within 5 minutes of each other) the first time they left a message for me and the second time a message for my friend. Once we arrived they gave us flip flops…(???) but we were getting manicures… so ¾ of the way through the manicure the aestheticians told us to go put on our shoes, since we would have wet nails. When I was trying to pay for both the lady seemed particularly confused as to why I was paying for both… anyways c’est la vie.

EC gets a middle of the road«A-ok» from me. In their Southgate Centre location they have what I would consider to be the best esthetician I’ve ever been to, Isidra. Highly recommend her(especially for waxes). However, that being said I find EC to be expensive and somewhat overly pretentious. I find the front desk staff to be unhelpful and sometimes condescending. Also, I had my hair done once hear after a consultation and it turned out HORRIBLE. I told my stylist I didn’t like it and nothing was done. So, if you’re going to an excellent esthetician or stylist EC is great, if you’re unlucky and get a not-so-fabulous one you may find the prices to be inflated and the staff unfriendly.

Do NOT ever get your hair done at Eveline Charles, not even if you get a gift certificate or someone offers to pay for it. I could use a million synonyms for this place: horrible, atrocious, disgusting, appalling, obnoxious, etc — you get the idea. I got my hair cut and colored here, to be exact I had my hair dyed black & red, and cut by about 3 inches. It cost me … *drum roll* … 550 dollars. Yes, that is right, five hundred and fifty dollars. That would have been tolerable if my hair was gorgeous, or heck, even acceptable. I got home and realized that the hair coloring genius had dropped bleach on my head and there was 4 circular spots of white on my newly dyed black & red hair. On top of that, the cut was uneven and visibly amateur. It gets better … I made an appointment to have my hair re done in 2 days. Within those 2 days I washed it once and all of the hair dye washed out. I was left with grey & pink hair with spots of circular white. I contacted the main Salon rep and she«apologized» and offered to have my hair re done for free — well no SHIT. On top of the lack of talent and skill, this place is so fake and pretentious it’s not even funny. All of the stylists look like clowns and walk around like they are some hair artists working for a highly regarded salon. This place is a joke.

What can I say about Eveline Charles… First of all, it is ridiculously overpriced. I got my hair cut and colored there once and cost me over $ 200. Second, I had to come back to get my hair fixed after that visit because the two colors mixed and some washed out so I ended up with white and blue spots on my head. It was not pretty. I also find that the air in Eveline Charles is very stuffy. I don’t mean the physical air, I mean the atmosphere or the feel. It’s very stuck up and pretentious. I’ve never tried any of their spa treatments. After the disaster with my hair, I vowed never to go back again. If you’re looking for an upper class, over priced, mediocre salon or spa, you might like this place. I’ve been to other spas and the staff actually care about the customers whereas here, I felt that I was just another pawn bringing in my money.
